(一)Warming - up
1. Greetings

2. Free talk
T: Do you like traveling?
Ss: Yes/No.
T: If you can travel around the world, which country do you want to go to?
Ask some students to answer. This can lead to the topic of this class - countries.
(二)Presentation
1. Teach new words
(1) Show a world map on the multimedia. Point to China and say, “Look, this is China. It's our motherland. C - h - i - n - a, China.” At the same time, show some pictures of famous places in China, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City. Then ask students to repeat the word “China” several times.
(2) In the same way, teach the words “the United States”, “the United Kingdom”, “Australia” and “Canada”. For example, when teaching “the United States”, show pictures of the Statue of Liberty, and play a short video about American cities. Say, “This is the United States. It's a very large and powerful country. T - h - e U - n - i - t - e - d S - t - a - t - e - s, the United States.” Let students follow and practice the pronunciation.
2. Practice new words
(1) Flashcard game
Show the word cards quickly one by one, and let students read the words as quickly as possible. Correct their pronunciation if there are mistakes.
(2) Word - spellingpetition
Divide the students into several groups. One student from each groupes to the blackboard. The teacher reads a word, and the students on the blackboard write the spelling of the word. The group whose student writes correctly and quickly gets one point.

1. Listen and repeat
Play the recording of the text which contains the new words and sentences. Let students listen carefully and repeat after it. Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation.
2. Make sentences
(1) Provide some sentence patterns on the blackboard, such as “I'm from... ” “Where are you from? ” Then show some pictures of people from different countries. For example, show a picture of a Chinese girl and say, “She is from China. She can say 'I'm from China.' ” Let students make sentences according to the pictures.
(2) Example exercises
Exercise 1: Look at the picture andplete the sentence. (Show a picture of an American boy)

(四)Production
1. Group work
Divide the students into groups of four. Each group is given a task to make a country introduction card. They can choose one of the countries they have learned. On the card, they should write the name of the country, draw some representative things (such as national flag, famous building), and write a short sentence using “I'm from... ” For example, if they choose China, they can draw the national flag of China, the Great Wall, and write “I'm from China. China is a great country.”
2. Presentation
Each group sends a representative to show their country introduction card in front of the class. The other students can ask some questions, such as “What's the famous building in your country?” “What do people like to eat in your country?”
(五)Summary
1. Review the new words
T: Let's review the countries we learned today. What are they?
Ss: China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada.
2. Review the sentences
T: And what sentences can we use to talk about the countries?
Ss: I'm from... Where are you from?
(六)Homework
1. Write down the new words five times each.
2. Make a short dialogue with your family members using the sentences “I'm from... ” “Where are you from? ”
