(Show some pictures of traveling on the screen.) Ss: Yes. T: Where have you been? Can you share with us? Some students may answer with simple words like “Beijing” or “Shanghai”. Then the teacher can briefly introduce some famous attractions in these places. (二)Presentation 1. Teach new words (1) Beach Show a beautiful picture of a beach on the screen. The beach is full of sand, there are blue sea and colorful umbrellas. T: Look at this picture. This is a beach. B - E - A - C - H, beach. There are a lot of sand and sea at the beach. Repeat after me, beach. Ss: Beach. T: What can we do at the beach? Ss: Swim, play with sand... T: Yes, we can swim and play with sand at the beach. (2) Mountain Show a picture of a high mountain. There are trees and some climbers on the mountain. T: This is a mountain. M - O - U - N - T - A - I - N, mountain. There are many trees and some people like to climb the mountain. Read after me, mountain. Ss: Mountain. (3) City Show a picture of a big city with tall buildings, busy streets and cars. T: This is a city. C - I - T - Y, city. There are tall buildings, busy streets and a lot of cars in the city. Say it together, city. Ss: City. (4) Village Show a picture of a quiet village with small houses, fields and some farmers. T: This is a village. V - I - L - L - A - G - E, village. There are small houses, fields and farmers in the village. Pay attention to the pronunciation of “llage”. Now, repeat it, village. Ss: Village. (5) Forest Show a picture of a dense forest with big trees and some animals. T: This is a forest. F - O - R - E - S - T, forest. There are many big trees and animals in the forest. Try to read it, forest. Ss: Forest. 2. Practice new words (1) Flashcard game Show the word cards one by one quickly. Let students read the words as fast as they can. (2) Memory game Show all the pictures of the five places on the screen for 30 seconds. Then hide the pictures and let students say the names of the places according to their memory. (三)Practice 1. Listen and match Play the audio of the five words, and there are five pictures on the worksheet corresponding to the five words. Let students listen carefully and match the words with the pictures. There are many trees in the forest. (四)Production 1. Group work: Travel plan Divide students into groups of four. Each group needs to make a travel plan. They can choose one of the places they have learned today as their travel destination. They should use the words and sentence patterns they have learned to describe their travel plan, including where they want to go, what there are in that place, and what they are going to do there.
