Unit 6 I am going to study computer science教案 Section A(1a-2c) Part 1 Teaching Material Analysis This lesson is chosen from PEP English book of junior high school, the first semester of grade 8, Unit 6. The main topic of this unit is about life goals. After students finished this lesson, they could understand the usage of the basic structure of simply future tense “be going to”and some sentences about their dream job . Only after learning this lesson, can students learn the following lessons, the other way to express simple future tense, so this lesson is quite important to their further study. Part 2 Learners analysis Our students are in Grade 8. They have learnt English for many years, so they have got some basic skills of studying English. However, speaking ability still needs to be developed. Thus the teacher should provide them more chances to practice speaking ability. In order to stimulate and cultivate students' interest in learning English and build up their confidence, multimedia and pictures are fully used in the teaching Section A to make English learning closer to students' real life. Part 3 Teaching objectives (1)Ss can learn how to use the simple future tense "be going to","will" to make sentences correctly. (2)Ss can work out the problems by using the skills of listening and speaking. (3)Ss will learn to talk about future intentions by using “be going to”and”want to”structure freely. improve their listening and speaking abilities; (4) Ss will improve the confidence of learning English, and not afraid of speaking English in class and they can think logically. (5)Ss can realize the importance of working hard to make their dreams come true. Part 4 Key and difficult points The key points are: (1) New words about jobs: computer programmer, computer science, engineer, pilot, doctor, cook, teacher, driver, violinist, scientist, actor .… (2)Talk about jobs and plans by using the target language. What are you going to be when you grow up ? I' m going to be…. How are you going to do that? I'm going to study math hard . The difficult points are: Use the sentences"What are you going to be when you grow up?"and"How are you going to do that?"to talk about future intentions. Part 5 Teaching and learning methods Task-based teaching method, Situational teaching method, Communicative Approach Part 6 teaching procedures Step 1:Warm-up and lead-in（6min） (1) Warm-up: Greet students as usual. (2) Lead in: Play a short video about jobs and let students think about two questions: Q1: How many jobs are mentioned in the video? Q2:What are they?
