Unit5 Working the land Using language: listening and speaking 教学目标 1. 通过复习 A pioneer for all people，了解先驱们对解决饥饿问题付出的努力，并通过相关图片，引导学生了解饥饿的因素，激发学生探求问题的求知欲，同时让学生在大单元教学中学习知识，运用知识。 2. 通过听录音掌握饥饿问题的起因以及社会各界需要采取的相关相关措施，回答问题并记录关键信息。同时呼吁学生重视粮食问题，提高保护粮食的意识。 3. 通过小组合作创作海报，进一步巩固所学知识的同时，把节约粮食印刻在自己的意识中，为解决粮食问题贡献自己的一份力量，并为解决粮食问题出谋划策。 教学重点： 1. 获取听力中国际组织 FAO 的采取的措施，以及 FAO 要求国家和个人需要采取的相关措施。 2. 帮助学生理解世界饥饿问题与全球粮食生产问题。 教学难点： 1. 如何指导学生在访谈类语篇中获取有效信息。 2. 如何启发学生积极思考，完成有意义的语言理解和口语输出, 形成有逻辑的演讲稿。 The objectives of the period 1.To gain the information of world hunger problem, and the function, assignments of FAO 2.To be able to analyze and judge the causes and measures of the world hunger problem. 3.Design a poster to raise awareness and make efforts to help tackle the world hunger problem. Step one Review :复习 A pioneer for all people。 【活动内容】了解农业先驱为解决饥饿问题付出的努力，引入饥饿话题: Explore the world hunger problem. Dr Yuan Longping developed Hybrid rice，feeding much more people. He made great achievements in agriculture ,so he was considered father of Hybrid rice. But hunger problem was not caused by one single factor. 【活动效果】学习科学家精神，为下文个体付出行动做出铺垫，让学生感受到解决饥饿问题是每个人的责任和义务。 Lead in :展示图片导入饥饿问题的话题 【活动内容】 Here are three photos , showing different factors of hunger problem. Ask students to observe attentively and organize their thoughts to show what they see, and what problems behind the photos. 【活动效果】先让学生的大脑在英语的环境下活跃起来，不设置具体的听力任务，让他们自由发挥去获得尽可能多的信息。通过对三张照片的观察，引发学生思考这些现象与饥饿问题发生的联系，该活动设计调动了学生“看”和“说”的技能，并通过学生的视觉冲击力激发 学生的同理心，通过讨论训练学生的分析、比较、推理等思维技能。同时，图片的观察是对接下来听力训练中内容的一个背景铺垫。之后配上文字描述创造语境，学生通过识图、看句子，能够激活头脑中 drought、famine、victim 等词汇。 Step two Activity 1 【活动内容】An international organization was founded, which is called FAO. Have you ever heard of it ?Let’s come to activity one ,and learn something about it . 1.Listen to section 1 of the interview and figure out the full name and aims of FAO. Birthdate:1945 Headquarter（总部）: Rome, Italy Full Name:____________________ Aims: to eliminate world hunger; to alleviate poverty; to achieve food security 【活动效果】在第一遍不给任何任务的条件下，给出学生一些提示信息，但这些提示信息还是不同于平常的听力测试题，目的是让他们有了听力的重点把握方向，更加精准并且高效的捕捉到所需要的信息。 师生互动：听完第二遍之后，邀请学生分享答案，掌握 FAO 的基本信息。 Activity 2 【活动内容】 Listen for details of the interview. First look through the four questions and try to get the key words. Don’t forget to take notes while listening . Then we will conclude the causes of the world hunger problem.(on the blackboard) 1.What can seriously affect crop production? _____________________________________________________________ 2.What does poverty mean? From what we have listened , we can we know the causes and measures. What measures can be taken to alleviate world hunger? The countries: Make new achievements and eliminate global conflict. The individuals: Buy food that support environment; never waste food. The UN: Make efforts to reduce ______________________. The FAO: Develop sustainable ________________________. 【活动效果】通过对措施的整体把握，更加深刻地认识问题面前方式方法很重要。更加全面地了解 FAO，及其为解决饥饿问题所采取的措施。让他们感受到自己在不同形式下，解决问题的正确性和方法的运用。 Step three Activity 4 Group work 【 活 动 内 容 】 A series of pictures show that there are still many people suffering from hunger .They don’t have enough food to eat, let alone nutritious food. It is reported that every 2 second there will be 2 kids dying of hunger. However, food wasting is everywhere. Growing crops takes a long time while wasting food is less than one minute. So it is time to do something to help tackle the world hunger problem. As the World Food Day is around the corner, let’s design a poster to celebrate the World Food Day and help solve hunger problem. Requirements: 1.Design a slogan(口号). 2.Draw some pictures. 3.Give suggestions to help solve world hunger. Group work 【活动效果】生活富裕了，人们对节约粮食的意识越来越淡泊，所以浪费仍在增加，每两秒都有死亡人数。通过制作海报，提高学生对食物保护的意识，节约粮食，人人有责。呼吁同学们承担起个体的责任意识，每一个个体都可以产生重大影响。同时本节课是听说课，所以听说同等重要，而且说要以听为载体，所以最后让学生就听力中的内容进行自我运用，也对学生在认识问题和了解世界等方面提出了更高的要求。同时，也可以让学生站在人类命运共同体的角度思考问题，培养了文化意识和国际视野,提高他们的综合的英语素养。 学科网（北京）股份有限公司 $$
