B
Imagine the silence of deafness or the darkness of blindness. These absences might teach us to treasure what we often ignore. I’ve questioned sighted friends about their visual experiences, but they report seeing little of significance. Nevertheless, despite my lack of sight, I discover the world to be full of fascinating details through the sense of touch.
If given the gift of sight for three days, I would start by observing the faces of friends, those who have shown me kindness. I would look into their eyes, windows to their souls, seeking the depth of their character. I would study the shape of their expressions, the laughter lines, the wrinkle brows of concern.
On the second day, I would bury myself in the visual narratives of human achievements through museum visits. There, I would see the art that has been described to me, from ancient sculptures to modern paintings, each telling a story of our past. The evening would be reserved for the performing arts, where I would witness the drama and dance that bring life to the stage.
The following morning, I should again greet the dawn, anxious to discover new delights, new inspiration of beauty. Today, this third day, I shall spend in the everyday world, observing people as they engage in the routine activities of their daily lives.
I who am blind can give one suggestion to those who see: Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be stricken blind. We should look upon the world with a sense of wonder and affection, recognizing the beauty in the ordinary. Our senses, especially sight, are gateways to experiencing life’s richness. They allow us to see the world in a way that is unique and profound. Let us use our eyes to explore the world around us, for sight is a gift that reveals the world’s beauty in vivid detail.
4. What is the author’s message about sighted friends?
A. They notice small details in life. B. They cherish visual experiences.
C. They search for daily significance. D. They miss the beauty around them.
5. What would the author do on the second day?
A. Visit local historical sites. B. Participate in a painting club.
C. Explore visual arts in museums. D. Attend a lecture on art history.
6. What does the author wish to observe on the third day?
A. City navigation. B. Daily interactions.
C. Emotional expressions. D. Artistic communication.
7. What’s the author’s main purpose in writing?
A. To argue reliance on sight. B. To urge full use of our senses.
C. To detail a blind person’s daily life. D. To discuss the role of human senses.
【答案】4. D 5. C 6. B 7. B
【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇记叙文,摘选自海伦凯勒的《假如给我三天光明》。文章描述作者如果获得三天视力,她将会如何利用,旨在鼓励读者珍惜自己的感官,尤其是视觉。
【4题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章第一段“ I’ve questioned sighted friends about their visual experiences, but they report seeing little of significance. (我问过一些视力正常的朋友他们的视觉体验,但他们说几乎看不出什么重要的东西。)”可知,作者暗示她的朋友们常常会忽视日常生活中的美。故选D。
【5题详解】

【7题详解】
推理判断题。整篇文章通过一个假设的情景——如果作者能看见三天,她会怎样使用她的眼睛——来表达对视觉的珍视,并鼓励读者珍惜自己的感官,尤其是视觉。文章最后一段“Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be stricken blind. (使用你的眼睛,就像明天你就会失明一样。)”更是明确了作者的写作目的,即鼓励读者珍惜并充分利用自己的感官。故选B。
C
With the sudden breakthroughs in artificial intelligence over the last year, a sudden realization has come for those of us in the writing circle that the robots have come for our jobs at last. Recently, Hollywood writers went on a strike over concerns about being replaced. It ended in a modest victory, but it seemed like a losing battle, like the 18th-century craftsmen trying to stop new machines but in vain.
The replacement of physical labour by machines was often beneficial in itself, even if it did not feel that way at the time. In all previous waves of technological change, the jobs lost have been made up for by the jobs created, usually better ones. Can the same be said when it comes to writing? Language is hard-wired into us, which is the property of human. Writing is how we do our best thinking, as Joan Didion observed, “I don’t know what I think until I write it down”, and thinking is what makes us human. What happens when we no longer rely on our own thoughts to address more complex problems?
Probably it won’t come to that, or not yet. I remember when we said the same thing about computers playing chess, the technology is still in its early stage. In a few years, we may no longer be able to tell the difference. What then?
Most likely the first writing to be replaced will be patterned writing like business and promotional writings. It may be that writers will take on a role similar to today’s artisans and craftsmen, pride for their “handmade” honour. The best writing may be produced neither entirely by computer nor by humans, but by the two combined. For however it is produced, some writing will always be better than other writing. Who says? You, the reader. It may be possible to teach a computer to write, but only a human can feel the pleasure of reading, or the pain.
8. What was the main concern of Hollywood writers?
A. The increase in working hours. B. The use of AI in writing rooms.
C. The decrease in salaries for them. D. The lack of full control over work.
9. What does the underlined sentence in paragraph 2 probably mean?
A. We are born with language. B. Language is hard to replace.
C. Language is difficult to change. D. We benefit from language.
10. What might be the first type of writing to be replaced by AI?
A. Creative fiction writing. B. Scientific research paper.
C. Advertisement and brochure. D. Children literature and poetry.
11. What would be the best title of the text?
A. Can AI redefine human’s future? B. Will the pen be mightier than AI?
C. Is AI a threat to human creativity? D. Will literature be dead due to AI?
【答案】8. B 9. A 10. C 11. B
【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇议论文。文章主要讨论了人工智能在写作领域的进步以及对作家职业的潜在威胁,探讨了技术进步如何影响工作,并提出了作者对这一现象的看法和未来作家职业方向的预测。
【8题详解】
细节理解题。根据第一段“Recently, Hollywood writers went on a strike over concerns about being replaced. It ended in a modest victory, but it seemed like a losing battle, like the 18th-century craftsmen trying to stop new machines but in vain.(最近,好莱坞作家因担心被取代而举行了罢工。这场战争以温和的胜利告终,但似乎是一场必败之战,就像18世纪的工匠们试图阻止新机器的出现,但却徒劳无功)”可知,好莱坞作家们抗议的主要原因是他们担心自己的工作被AI取代。故选B项。
【9题详解】
词句猜测题。根据后文“which is the property of human(这是人类的属性)”可知,语言是人类的固有属性,推知 hard-wired的意思是“天生的,固有的”,与之意义最接近的是“be born with”, 意思是“与生俱来的”。故选A。
【10题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段“Most likely the first writing to be replaced will be patterned writing like business and promotional writings.(最有可能被取代的第一批文字将是商业和宣传类的模式化文字)”可知,最有可能首先被AI 取代的写作类型是那些模式化的写作,如商务促销类写作。“广告和宣传册”这类写作通常结构固定,规则性强,目的是为了促销推广,因此更容易被AI模仿和取代。故选C。
【11题详解】
主旨大意题。根据第一段“With the sudden breakthroughs in artificial intelligence over the last year, a sudden realization has come for those of us in the writing circle that the robots have come for our jobs at last. Recently, Hollywood writers went on a strike over concerns about being replaced. It ended in a modest victory, but it seemed like a losing battle, like the 18th-century craftsmen trying to stop new machines but in vain.(随着去年人工智能的突然突破,我们这些写作圈的人突然意识到,机器人终于来抢我们的工作了。最近,好莱坞作家因担心被取代而举行了罢工。这场战争以温和的胜利告终,但似乎是一场必败之战,就像18世纪的工匠们试图阻止新机器的出现,但却徒劳无功)”以及通读全文可知,本文主要讨论了人工智能在写作领域的进步以及对作家职业的潜在威胁,探讨了技术进步如何影响工作,所以B项“Will the pen be mightier than AI?(笔会比人工智能更强大吗?)”是本文最佳标题。故选B项。
D
It has previously been proved that representative gestures improves memory for concrete words, in particular action words. Here, we investigate the impact of gestures on abstract word learning in a foreign language. We further ask if learning novel words with gestures promotes sentence production.
Thus twenty German speakers were recruited (招募) to participate in the experiment, with an average age of 21, consisting of 12 females and 8 males. No one had any known hearing loss. The training material contained 32 abstract sentences in an artificial language database created for experimental purposes. The 32 sentences were randomly distributed in two training conditions, with 16 sentences per group.
In condition 1, participants saw the word and heard it. After half a second, its translation into German appeared on the screen. Meanwhile, a video with a still image of the actress appeared on the screen. Participants were cued to repeat the word they had previously seen and heard aloud. In condition 2, participants saw and heard a word. Half a second later, the German translation showed up. At the same time, a video with the actress performing a symbolic gesture for the word appeared on the screen. Participants read the word aloud and repeated the gesture.
Participants were trained on the 32 sentences for 6 days. Memory performance was assessed daily using different tests. The overall results support the prediction that learners have better memory for words with gestures. In the sentence test, participants produced new sentences with the words they had acquired. Words represented with gestures were used more frequently, showing their enhanced accessibility in memory.
If adding a gesture to a word in a foreign language is a key to better storage and slower forgetting, teaching and learning should take this into account. Teachers could present new texts by connecting new words with gestures and encouraging students to repeat them. Learners could abandon their traditional vocabulary lists and instead perform their own actions accompanying new words.
12. What was the purpose of inviting twenty German speakers?
A. To evaluate the impact of hearing problem.
B. To test their ability to learn foreign language.
C To compare audiovisual and gesture learning.
D. To confirm the pre-experimental assumption.
13. How did the training conditions differ for participants?
A. Both groups used the same methods with no difference.
B. Participants were divided based on their gender and age.
C. The training conditions were the same except extra gestures.
D. One used only audiovisual aids while the other only gestures.
14. What conclusion could be drawn from the production of sentences?
A. Words with actions were more likely to be used.
B. Participants performed better with some gestures.
C. Memory influenced sentence production abilities.
D. Gestures had no effect on the sentence production.
15. What suggestion might the study offer for language learners?
A. Depend only on audiovisual materials.
B. Teach new words with designed gestures.
C. Quit traditional vocabulary memorization.
D. Integrate movements with word repetition.
【答案】12. D 13. C 14. A 15. D

【13题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段“In condition 1, participants saw the word and heard it. After half a second, its translation into German appeared on the screen. Meanwhile, a video with a still image of the actress appeared on the screen.(在条件1中,参与者看到和听到这个词。半秒钟后,屏幕上出现了它的德语翻译。与此同时,屏幕上出现了一段带有这位女演员静态图像的视频。)”和“In condition 2, participants saw and heard a word. Half a second later, the German translation showed up. At the same time, a video with the actress performing a symbolic gesture for the word appeared on the screen.(在第二种情况下,参与者看到和听到一个单词。半秒钟后,德文翻译出来了。与此同时,屏幕上出现了一段女演员为这个词做象征性手势的视频。)”可知,参与者的训练条件是一样的,除了额外的手势。故选C。
【14题详解】
细节理解题。根据第四段“Words represented with gestures were used more frequently, showing their enhanced accessibility in memory.(用手势表示单词使用频率更高,表明它们在记忆中的可及性更高。)”可知,有手势动作的语言更有可能被使用。故选A。
【15题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段作者的建议“Learners could abandon their traditional vocabulary lists and instead perform their own actions accompanying new words.(学习者可以放弃传统的词汇表,而是用自己的动作来搭配新单词。)”可知,这项研究对语言学习者的建议是把动作和单词重复结合起来。故选D。

57. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写一段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Tom wasn’t very good at keeping things neat and clean. There were always small pieces of food on the table after he ate. His socks never went into the laundry basket. He only picked up his toys when his mom said she would throw them away. Most days, his mom cleaned up after him.
One day, his mom asked Tom to pick up his toy trains. “Not now,” Tom said. He was reading a funny book. The toy trains had been on the floor all day. “You know what, Tom? I won’t ask you again.” she raised her voice, “I’m done cleaning for today, and I will finish it before dinner.” Tom’s eyes remained fixed on the pages of his funny book, completely absorbed in the pictures and jokes. The laughter bubbling up from the book seemed to create a barrier between him and his mom’s rising voice.
At dinner, Tom saw a lot of crumbs (面包屑) on his plate. His mom’s plate was clean. Tom didn’t like the crumbs and felt a wave of annoyance. After dinner, Tom’s feet were cold. He went to his room and looked in his drawer, but it was empty. “Mom, where are my socks?” Tom asked. “There were no socks in the laundry basket, so I didn’t wash them,” his mom said. Hearing it, Tom was not happy. Now his feet would be cold unless he wore dirty socks from the floor. However, he decided to go without socks.
When it was bedtime, Tom went into his room even without saying good night to his mom. Unfortunately, he stepped on one of his toy trains with his bare feet. “Ouch!” Tom cried loudly. “That really hurt!”
Tom’s cries echoed through the house, but his mom didn’t respond immediately. She had heard the pain in his voice, but she also knew that this was an important moment for Tom to understand the consequences of his actions.

Let’s get those toy trains picked up.” Tom nodded, and together they picked up the toy trains and put them away. Then, Tom asked his mom to teach him to wash his own socks. She gladly agreed.

A. City navigation. B. Daily interactions.
C. Emotional expressions. D. Artistic communication.
7. What’s the author’s main purpose in writing?
A. To argue reliance on sight. B. To urge full use of our senses.
C To detail a blind person’s daily life. D. To discuss the role of human senses.
The replacement of physical labour by machines was often beneficial in itself even if it did not feel that way at the time.
C. To compare audiovisual and gesture learning.

第二节 (满分 15分)
注意:
1. 续写词数应为80个左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
