Recently an old friend phoned me to ask about the success I had in my life and how I achieved it. He has 1 goals as me: get in shape, get into music more seriously, and be good at Japanese.
I haven’t completely reached my long⁃term goals yet in any of these 3 things. He thinks that I’ve made some progress on my journey to 2 these goals and I can give him some advice.
We had a nice talk for an hour on the phone and he seemed pretty encouraged. A week went by and he sent me photos of him learning 3 and

二、阅读理解
(2023·山西改编)
Times change! The day I heard that the Bright Bookstore was closing, I was sad. The bookstore had been in the neighborhood for 50 years, and it was a great place where people could connect through their love of books.
When I met Old Tim, the store’s owner, he told me it was difficult to run(运营) a traditional bookstore. Most young people preferred reading e⁃books and more people bought books online.
Childhood memories came back to me so clearly. A group of us kids often went to the store. We looked at the new books, or just talked with Tim. We

spent hours reading there.Tim encouraged us to share our ideas by writing them on a large board.
A few months later, I was back and was surprised to see that the Bright Bookstore was still open for business. It was still old, but inside it was like a different world. In an area, a book reading was going on. Nearby, some readers were sharing their ideas on a screen instead of the large board. Some were reading on computers. It even had a coffee shop selling nice food. Clearly, the Bright Bookstore was in good, creative hands.
Tim told me that there were more community events in the coffee shop

such as book readings and even concerts and movie nights. The book⁃store was turned into a place where the book lovers got together and shared ideas and experiences.
“Well, as you can see, technology and creativity have brought my old bookstore into the 21st century! I’m so glad to see that everything I wanted it to offer to the community is still here,” said Tim.
No matter how times change, there are always people who love reading. With the development of technology, traditional bookstores should also change in a creative way.

四、回答问题
(素材选自《Daily Reading Comprehension》)
If you ever make it to Denmark(丹麦),you should visit Bakken, the world’s oldest amusement park.Like other amusement parks,Bakken has roller coasters(过山车),food, and games, but its history is very different from amusement parks and fairs you might know.
Bakken was popular in the late 1500s as a place to get clean water.People in the nearby city could not drink the dirty water near the town,so they went to the springs(泉)at Bakken.Soon, traders and performers showed up.The traders sold food and crafts, while the performers did tricks for the visitors.

During the mid⁃1600s,Bakken was closed to the public. It was part of the land that belonged to the king.In 1669,King Frederick III turned Bakken into a private animal park that was like a personal zoo.The next king,King Christian V,made the park larger in 1670.But the park remained private until 1756,when King Frede⁃rick V wanted to share the park with everyone.
Once the park reopened to the public, traders and performers showed up again.Soon,Bakken became one of the most well⁃known places in Europe.During the 20th century, roller coasters and other typical amusement park rides were added to Bakken.Today,Bakken is the second most popular place for tourists to visit in Denmark.
