VI. Teaching Procedure

Step 2: Presentation (15 minutes)
1. Commas
Explain the usage of commas to separate words in a list and phrases/clauses.
Show examples: "You can visit Asia, Africa, Europe, America and more in only eight hours." and "You can use a computer for sending and receiving emails, searching for information, drawing or playing games."
Have students identify the commas and explain their functions in the examples.
2. Full Stops
Explain that full stops are used at the end of a sentence that is not a question or an exclamation.
Present the example: "The 12th Special Olympics World Games were held in Shanghai in 2007."
Ask students to come up with their own sentences using full stops.
3. Question Marks
Illustrate the usage of question marks at the end of direct questions.
Provide the example: "How does UNICEF help?"
Have students formulate questions and punctuate them correctly with question marks.
4. Exclamation Marks
Explain that exclamation marks are used to express strong feelings such as surprise, joy, anger, or shock.
