Look at the theme picture, they are Teng Fei’s classmates. 1　 What are the students doing? 2　 What club do you think they are in? 3　 Do you want to join this club? Step Ⅱ Learning and Comprehension 1. Look and say Show the pictures. Talk about different kinds of clubs at Teng Fei’s school. Summarize the rule : n+club & v-ing+club. Work on 1a. Match the clubs with the pictures. 2.Ask about the ability Teng Fei wants to join a school club. Can you help him choose one? Show the picture and ask Ss what club they want to join and what things they can do. Practice the conversation. 3. Listening Work on 1b. Listen to the conversations. Fill in the chart. Work on 1c, complete the sentences with can or can’t. Fill in the blanks without book. Step Ⅲ Application and Practice 1.How does Teng Fei apply for a club? 2. Work on 1d. Role-play a conversation between a club leader and a student. Step Ⅳ Listening 1. Work on 2a. Listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks. Pay attention to the letters that are silent. 2. Work on 2b. Read the conversation and complete the table. 3. Work on 2d.Circle can or can’t with your own information. Then tick the club(s) you want to join. Step Ⅳ Translation and Creation The School Club Recruitment Day(社团招新日) is coming. If you are Teng Fei’s schoolmates, which club can you join? Show the club schedule and think about it .
