V. Teaching Reflection
This lesson on "Hansel and Gretel" was engaging and effective in several ways. The use of fairy tales sparked students' interest and imagination. The pre-reading activities helped them make predictions and get engaged in the story from the start. During the while-reading stage, the tasks were well-designed to improve students' reading skills and understanding of the text. The group discussion and acting out of the play allowed for active participation and collaborative learning. However, some students had difficulty understanding the more complex sentences in the story. In future lessons, I could provide more scaffolding and simplified explanations for such sentences. Also, some groups took longer than expected to act out the play, so I need to manage time better and give clearer instructions. Overall, this lesson was a valuable experience in teaching literature and enhancing students' language and thinking skills.
