____68____ She argues the process of discovering and pursuing beauty itself is a process that nourishes the body and mind. In her opinion, the value of something lies in the enhancement of its quality. Every piece of clothing, skincare or furniture has a unique meaning, even if it is not that deep, as long as it can bring happiness to people. Shopping should not be narrowly seen as a simple way of feeding emotions, rather she encourages people to spend rationally and within their means.
A. Fang writes that the pursuit of beauty is productive.
C. She aims to capture the coziness of women’s homes and their lifestyles through the camera.
D. Fang shares her journey and tips from a woman’s perspective.
【解析】由后文的“She argues the process of discovering and pursuing beauty itself is a process that nourishes the body and mind. In her opinion, the value of something lies in the enhancement of its quality. Every piece of clothing, skincare or furniture has a unique meaning, even if it is not that deep, as long as it can bring happiness to people. Shopping should not be narrowly seen as a simple way of feeding emotions, rather she encourages people to spend rationally and within their means.(她认为发现和追求美的过程本身就是一个滋养身心的过程。在她看来,某物的价值在于其品质的提升。每一件衣服、护肤品、家具,都有着独特的意义,哪怕没有那么深刻,只要能给人带来快乐就可以。她认为购物不应被狭隘地视为一种简单的情感宣泄方式,而是鼓励人们理性消费,量入为出。)”可知,A项“方写道,对美的追求是富有成效的”能够概括该段落内容,是本段的主题句,后文提到的理性购物也是发现和追求美的过程,与上文连接通顺。故选A项。

【解析】根据下文“But instead of joining an organized and pricey aurora trip with a tour guide, I’m here on a DIY long weekend with friends.(但是我没有参加一个有导游的有组织的昂贵的极光之旅,而是和朋友在这里DIY一个长周末。)” E“It’s the appeal of the Arctic winter that has brought me to the very north of Norway in January.(是北极冬天的魅力让我在一月份来到了挪威最北部。)”
(2024年新高考II卷) Overtourism Is For Real: How Can You Help?
Travel promotes understanding, expands our minds, makes us better people, and boosts local economies and communities, but the rapid growth of travel has led to overtourism in certain regions and destinations. ___16. So, should we stop traveling?___ Certainly not. The loss of what travel offers would be unacceptable in today’s world. Here are some tips on making wise decisions to minimize pressure on the places we visit and improve our experience.
●Choose mindfully. Overvisited destinations are that way for a reason: they’re special. With so many online posts featuring the same places, it’s easy to feel like you’re missing out. Go somewhere only when the landscape, culture or food deeply draws you. ___17 Travel for you and no one else..___
●Get creative. The best way to ease pressure on over-touristed destinations is to go somewhere else. Though overtourism is described as a problem affecting the entire world, it’s actually concentrated to a small number of extremely popular spots. That means you have tons of less-visited options to choose from. You can still find relatively undiscovered places. Why not try a regional alternative or check out a popular destination’s lesser-known sights?
● ___19___ Minimize impact and maximize experience by skipping major holidays or rush hour. You’ll compete with fewer tourists, save money, experience a different side of a popular place, and boost the economy when tourism is traditionally slower.
......
A. Visit during off-peak times.
B. So, should we stop traveling?
C. Travel for you and no one else.
D. Can overtourism be avoided then?
E. You can still find relatively undiscovered places.
F. You’ll find yourself virtually alone, or close to it.
G. Consider giving back to the communities you’re visiting.
故选A。
【答案】A
有时会出现下列衔接词汇或短语结构: first, second, then, next, later, soon, so, but, however, additionally, what’s more, that is, namely, in other words, for one thing. .
(1) 总分关系:指选项是中心句;
(2) 并列关系:指选项与前句或后句在结构或内容上一致;
(3) 递进关系:指后句对前句进行补充说明或语义上的延伸;
(4) 转折关系;指选项与前句或后句语义相反或相对,后句往往是对前句的修正,表达作者的真正意图;
(6) 概括阐释:指前句对后句或后句对前句进行归纳概括,若前句归纳,后句即是对前句的具体阐释,使得概念更加清晰易懂;若后句概括,即后句是对前句所阐释的内容进行意义整合;
(7) 因果关系:指选项与前后句构成因果关系;
一是掌握特点:“总”是指总体概括,“分”指的是内容的具体展开;
The friends who introduced me to camping thought that it meant to be a pioneer. 37 We slept in a tent, cooked over an open fire, and walked a long distance to take the shower and use the bathroom. This brief visit with Mother Nature cost me two days off from work, recovering from a bad case of sunburn and the doctor’s bill for my son’s food poisoning.
C. The trip they took me on was a rough one.
F. After the trip, my family became interested in camping.
一是掌握特点:提出观点,然后对该观点解释说明;
In France, quality of life is much more important than efficiency (效率). You can tell this by cafés life. French cafés are always crowded. 40 When do these people work? The French take their 35-hour workweek seriously — so seriously that some labor unions recently struck a deal with a group of companies limiting the number of hours that independent contractors can be on call.
A. Not all the customers are tourists.
B. The quality of life in France is equally excellent.
C. There was a nice kitchen and a comfortable bed.
D. The amazing food is mainly consumed by local farmers.
E. That’s not the only reason the French eat less than we do.
F. Our aim was to see if we could live, in some way, like real Parisians.
G. The food is so delicious that you don’t need much of it to make you happy.
故选A。
【答案】A
一是掌握特点:思维上的形象(例子、类比等)和抽象(观点)的辩证关系;
The Bottom Line. ________70________ Consumer Reports recommends that adults eat no more than 1 to 2 cups of cooked (brown or white) rice a week. And here is a way to lessen risk: Rinse your rice, cook it in six parts water to one part rice until it reaches eating texture, and then pour off the extra water. This can remove about half the arsenic.
D. Until more studies are done, curb your consumption of arsenic.
F. Brown rice tends to have more arsenic because the metal concentrates in the outer layers, which are burnished off in white rice.
【解析】D。总起句为The Bottom Line.
表示转折关系的连接词有: but但是, however/whereas然而, nevertheless仍然, 然而, 不过, nonetheless尽管如此, 依然, 然而, still还; 然而, though可是, 不过, 然而, yet然而, in spite of不顾, 不管, at any rate无论如何, 至少, in any case无论如何, 不管怎样, whoever无论是谁, whatever无论什么, on the contrary正相反, in contrast与此相反, 相比之下, by contrast相反, 相比之下, in comparison比较起来, 比较地, by comparison相比之下, conversely相反(地), otherwise否则; 除此以外, not. . . but不是……而是, as well也等。
一是掌握特点:指英语行文中后句与前句构成逆转逻辑关系;
1】Swearing to lose 20 pounds or to run a marathon seems like goals leading to happiness, but they take time to achieve. By focusing on not having accomplished them yet, you will start to feel down on yourself. _________. B. You'll fail to appreciate more important things in your life.
E. You may even end up admitting that you have been defeated.
【解析】E。根据By focusing on not having accomplished them yet, you will start to feel down on yourself. However: if you focus on the small milestones that occur along the way, you will feel positive about your progress, which will give you the strength to keep going.
2】"People tend to think in an either-or way. If you're stuck in traffic, then everything else must be going horribly too," says Anne Parker, a wellness counselor. . Instead, acknowledge that you're stuck in traffic, but also bring to mind something good, like the beautiful scenery outside the window. That way, you'll get in the habit of forbidding negative circumstances from blanketing your whole day.
C. Act in an optimistic way: smile, laugh, tell a joke.
D. By blowing negative events out of proportion, you' re setting yourself up for feeling down all day.
F. Being grateful and happy aren't always easy.
Instead, acknowledge that you're stuck in traffic, but also bring to mind something good, like the beautiful scenery outside the window.

表示因果关系的连词有as a result/consequently结果, thus/therefore因此, so (such). . . that. . .
一是掌握特点:指前后的句子有着原因和结果之间的关系;
1】Large cities were impossible until agriculture became industrialized. Even in advanced agricultural societies, it took about ninety-five people on farms to feed five people in cities. _________.
►►A.That kept cities very small.

►►F.Modernization drew people to the cities and made farmers more productive.
一是掌握特点:前后两句是逻辑上的并列关系;
二是技巧运用:寻找表示并列的关系词,如:and, first(ly), second(ly),...; first, then/next, ..;in the first place, in the second place.; for one thing, for another; to begin with, to conclude等标志性词语。
例如:

Sometimes it can feel like your head is too cluttered. With work, school, or a busy schedule, things are bound to get jumbled (乱糟糟的) every once and a while! 1 From focusing to journaling, we’ll teach you how to mindfully distract yourself from worrying thoughts.
Focus on the present moment. Practice mindfulness daily to help clear your mind and be more focused. Mindfulness is all about letting all other thoughts come and go. Observe your thoughts and feelings without judgement, as if you’re an outsider in your own mind. 2
Take a walk. 3 When you’re being mindful, you’re fully engaging in the present moment, letting feelings come and go as you focus on what’s in front of you. Combining this state of mind with walking produces an extra special stress reliever that improves mental and physical health. Try scheduling a walk around the block, on the treadmill, or through a local park every day.
4 Take a moment to breathe and come back to the present moment. Life can easily become go, go, go, and in the process, you can easily forget to breathe. Settling down wherever you are to take controlled breaths can calm your racing mind and heartbeat, helping you feel more relaxed.
Journal your thoughts. Writing down your worries can help you sort through them. Try reaching for a notebook or phone when a million thoughts are racing through your mind. 5 Journaling can help you be more aware of your emotions and reflect on what’s troubling you.

1.根据空前内容“Sometimes it can feel like your head is too cluttered. With work, school, or a busy schedule, things are bound to get jumbled(乱糟糟的) every once and a while!(有时你会觉得自己的头脑过于混乱。由于工作、学业或繁忙的日程,事情难免有时会变得一团糟!)”可知,上文提出有时候由于繁忙的日程,我们常会觉得自己非常混乱。选项D“But you can do something to clear your mind and calm things down.(但是你可以做一些事情来清理思绪并平静下来。)”
2.根据空前内容“Mindfulness is all about letting all other thoughts come and go. Observe your thoughts and feelings without judgement, as if you’re an outsider in your own mind.(正念就是任由其他所有思绪来来去去。不带评判地观察你的想法和感受,就好像你是自己思想中的局外人一样。)”可知,上文提出正念的概念。选项F“Then let those thoughts and feelings go and focus on what you’re currently doing instead.(然后让那些想法和感受过去,专注于你目前正在做的事情。)”
3.根据空后内容“When you’re being mindful, you’re fully engaging in the present moment, letting feelings come and go as you focus on what’s in front of you.(当你专注于当下时,你完全沉浸在现在的时刻,让感觉随着你的注意力集中在眼前的事物上。)” C“Moving your body mindfully can help things seem clearer.(有意识地移动你的身体可以让事情看起来更清晰。)”
根据下文“Take a moment to breathe and come back to the present moment. Life can easily become go, go, go, and in the process, you can easily forget to breathe. Settling down wherever you are to take controlled breaths can calm your racing mind and heartbeat, helping you feel more relaxed.(花点时间停下来深呼吸,回到当下。生活很容易变得匆匆忙忙,在这个过程中,你很容易忘记呼吸。无论你身在何处,坐下来进行有控制的呼吸可以平静你狂乱的思想和心跳,帮助你感到更放松。)”可知,本段主要建议读者要做呼吸练习。选项A“Do deep breathing exercises.(做深呼吸练习。)” 故选A。
5.根据空前内容“Writing down your worries can help you sort through them. Try reaching for a notebook or phone when a million thoughts are racing through your mind. (把你的想法写下来可以帮助你整理它们。当脑海中思绪万千时,试着伸手去拿笔记本或手机。)”可知,上文建议我们将自己的想法写下来。选项E“Set down everything that comes to mind, letting all pour out onto the page.(把想到的一切都写下来,让它们全部倾泻到纸上。)”

Rainfall variability refers to the unevenness of rainfall timing and rainfall amount. 7 For example, some places may receive a year’s rainfall in just a few days, experience downpours after long dry periods, or rapidly change between droughts and floods.
By analyzing a wide range of observational data, the researchers found that rainfall variability has increased by about 75% since the 20th century across the land areas studied, especially in Europe, Australia and eastern North America. 8
9 They identified the dominant role of anthropogenic (人为的) emissions of greenhouse gases. “The increase in rainfall variability is mainly due to anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, which have led to a warmer and more humid atmosphere,” said Wenxia Zhang, lead author of the study. This means that even if the atmospheric circulation remains unchanged, the extra moisture in the air will lead to more intense rainfall events.
Large and rapid fluctuations (波动) between extreme climates not only challenge the existing capabilities of contemporary weather and climate prediction systems, but also have chain effects on human society, threatening the economic development, ecosystem functions and terrestrial carbon sinks. 10
A.Immediate adaptation measures are crucial to meet these challenges.
B.Higher variability may bring more rain in a certain region.
C.The study was conducted by researchers from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
D.To understand the causes of increased rainfall variability, the team furthered the research.
E.Higher variability means that rainfall is more unevenly distributed over a period of time, leading to wet and dry periods.
F.It was also found that daily variability in global rainfall has increased by 1.2% per decade.
G.The study indicates that global rainfall will still increase in the next century.

Holidays abroad are easier than ever thanks to smartphones. With the autumn weather fast approaching, it’s the perfect time of year to jet off and get away from hustles and bustles. 11 Here are some top tips to make sure you’re not caught out on your break abroad. Treat yourself to a power bank
The batteries inside our phones are typically designed to last for around a day of moderate usage. 12 So you’re going to want some extra support so you don’t end up going AWOL (absent without leave) when your phone dies. That’s why I recommend picking up a USB power bank, which will give you a little bit of extra juice to keep you connected to the rest of the world. Enable Data roaming (漫游)
13 The good news is that it is easier than ever to stay connected to the net when abroad. Make sure you check with your network provider what your roaming plan is. In many countries it is straightforward to buy a SIM card for a local network, with a much more generous data allowance. 14 If you’ve got a newer phone, it will probably support “eSIM” — where you can simply use an app like Holafly or Airalo while connected to wifi to set yourself up on a new network temporarily. Download offline application software
And finally, you need to get your apps in order. Once you reach your destination you’ll need a mapping app, and maybe even a translation app — Apple and Google make their own version of both. And modern translation apps are particularly exciting. 15 Then you get a clear translation. Make sure that all of the critical data is downloaded so that apps work offline and you can travel the world like a local. Bon voyage!
A.What good is a phone without Internet access?
B.You simply wave your phone at the scanner instead.
C.In fact, you may not even need a physical card anymore.
D.Why do you need to get your phone ready to be connected?
E.But when you’re away from home, you’re probably using it so much more.
F.You can typically just wave the camera of your phone over pretty much anything.
G.But before leaving for the airport, ensure your phone is ready for the journey ahead!

How to Keep a Pet Bird Quiet
Birds can be excellent companions, but they can also make a lot of noise. Sometimes that noise is unavoidable, but there are a few steps you can take to train your bird out of loud or continuous squawking (尖叫).
26 Most birds tend to make some noise, either by singing or squawking. Birds tend to be most vocal during waking hours in the morning and before going to sleep in the evening. Some birds are more likely to make noise than others, but understand before bringing a bird home that some noise will be unavoidable.
Teach your bird to speak softly. Praise your bird when he whistles or whispers, instead of squawking or yelling. 27 It’s often easier to teach them soft- spoken words compared to other types of sounds. Furthermore, it's important to maintain a calm and gentle tone when interacting with your bird. 28 Because this could strengthen the behavior you are trying to discourage.
Avoid quick movements. It’s possible that you or someone in your household is moving too quickly around your bird, causing him to feel anxious or over- stimulated. 29 If you have children living at home, teach them not to run through the room your bird is in.
Provide your bird with comfort and security. Birds in the wild participate in “flock calls” as a way of communicating with other birds and ensuring the safety of the flock. If your bird is likely to squawk when you leave the room, it could be his attempt at sending you a flock call. 30
A.Understand bird behavior.
B.Train your bird to be quiet.
C.This may be especially useful for parrots.
D.Give him a treat for quietness to earn your love.
E.Try squawking back to let him know that you’re safe.
F.Do not raise your voice in response to your bird’s volume or tone.
G.Move slowly around your bird, and encourage others to do the same.
【答案】26.A 27.C 28.F 29.G 30.E
26.根据下文“Most birds tend to make some noise, either by singing or squawking. Birds tend to be most vocal during waking hours in the morning and before going to sleep in the evening.(大多数鸟都会发出一些声音,不是唱歌就是叫。鸟类在早上醒着的时候和晚上睡觉前往往是最大声的。)”可知,本段主要介绍要了解鸟儿的行为。故A选项“了解鸟的行为”切题,为本段的标题。故选A项。
27.根据上文“Praise your bird when he whistles or whispers, instead of squawking or yelling.(当你的鸟吹口哨或低语时,赞美它,而不是尖叫或吼叫。)”
28.根据上文“Furthermore, it’s important to maintain a calm and gentle tone when interacting with your bird.(此外,当你和你的鸟交流时,保持冷静和温和的语气是很重要的。)”
It’s possible that you or someone in your household is moving too quickly around your bird, causing him to feel anxious or over- stimulated.(避免快速移动。有可能是你或你家里的人在你的鸟周围移动得太快,导致他感到焦虑或过度刺激。)”可知,选项承接上文说明在鸟周围缓慢移动的重要性。故G选项“慢慢地在你的鸟周围移动,并鼓励其他人也这样做。”切题。故选G项。
30.根据上文“Provide your bird with comfort and security. Birds in the wild participate in “flock calls” as a way of communicating with other birds and ensuring the safety of the flock. If your bird is likely to squawk when you leave the room, it could be his attempt at sending you a flock call.( 给你的鸟一个舒适和安全的环境。

With gas prices rising and airport security lines snaking longer than ever, why not book your next domestic vacation on a train? Compared to other alternatives, it’s comfortable and relaxing. Here is some advice on how to make a trip by rail as pleasant as possible.
Plan ahead. Most long-distance trains, especially the sleeping car accommodations, sell out very quickly. 36 But no matter when you travel, it’s a good idea to make your reservations at least 90 days in advance.
Use a travel agent. Consider turning your travel plan over to a travel agent and letting him double-check all the details, make suggestions, and then handle the actual reservations. A good one can sometimes find you discounted tickets. 37 Then you won’t have to walk through several cars on a moving train three times a day for your meals.
Bring a blanket. When you’re riding on trains, you won’t be provided with a blanket for free, even if your trip is an overnight one. 38 In the summer in particular, the air conditioning can make them quite cold.
Arrive early. Most trains operate just once a day and some run only three times a week, so missing yours can be a disaster. 39 Note: The times listed on the schedules are departure times, not arrival times.
Have fun. 40 Read a book, knit, do a crossword puzzle, or simply watch the world unfold outside the window. To calculate your speed as you do, divide 3,600(the number of seconds in an hour)by the number of seconds it takes you to travel one mile(the distance between two mileposts). If it takes the train 53 seconds to travel one mile, you’re going 67.92 mph.
A.Train trips aren’t for impatient types.
B.You’ll have views from both sides of the train.
C.The temperature on rail cars is often hard to control.
D.That’s particularly true during busy summer months.
E.You might have to wait longer than 24 hours to catch the next one.
F.Chances are the cost will be a lot less than the cost of one bedroom.
G.He may also book you in a sleeping car that’s right next to the diner.
【答案】36.D 37.G 38.C 39.E 40.A
Most long-distance trains, especially the sleeping car accommodations, sell out very quickly.(提前计划。大多数长途火车,尤其是卧铺,很快就卖光了。)”以及下文“But no matter when you travel, it’s a good idea to make your reservations at least 90 days in advance. (但无论你什么时候去旅行,最好至少提前90天预订。)”可知,大多数长途火车的卧铺很容易被定完,所以要提前安排预定,D项“在繁忙的夏季尤其如此。”符合语境,D项中“busy summer months”与前后文呼应,说明忙碌的夏季尤其需要提前计划。故选D项。
37.根据上文“A good one can sometimes find you discounted tickets. (一个好的旅行社有时可以帮你找到打折的票。)”以及下文“Then you won’t have to walk through several cars on a moving train three times a day for your meals. (这样你就不必为了吃饭而每天三次在行驶的火车上穿过几节车厢了。)”可知,好的旅行社帮你预定,不仅可以找到打折的票,还可以节省从卧铺到餐车的距离,G项中“book you in a sleeping car that’s right next to the diner”与前后文对应,因此推断G项“他可能还会给你预订餐厅旁边的卧铺车厢。”
38.根据上文“When you’re riding on trains, you won’t be provided with a blanket for free, even if your trip is an overnight one.(当你乘坐火车时,你不会免费获得一条毯子,即使你的旅行是过夜的。)”以及下文“In the summer in particular, the air conditioning can make them quite cold. (特别是在夏天,空调会让他们很冷。)”可知,这里提到了车厢内温度的问题,提醒乘客最好自备毛毯,C项中“The temperature on rail cars”与前后文对应,因此推断C项“列车上的温度通常很难控制。”符合语境。故选C项。
39.根据上文“Most trains operate just once a day and some run only three times a week, so missing yours can be a disaster.(大多数火车每天只开一趟,有些火车一周只开三趟,所以错过你的火车可能是一场灾难。)”以及下文“Note: The times listed on the schedules are departure times, not arrival times. (注意:时刻表上列出的时间是出发时间,不是到达时间。)”可知,本段提醒要提前安排时间,错过时间是很麻烦的事情,E项中“You might have to wait longer”与前后文对应,说明错过火车导致的结果,因此推断E项“你可能要等上超过24小时才能赶上下一班。”符合语境。故选E项。
40.根据上文“Have fun.(玩得开心)”以及下文“To calculate your speed as you do, divide 3,600(the number of seconds in an hour)by the number of seconds it takes you to travel one mile(the distance between two mileposts).”(要计算你的速度,用3600(一小时的秒数)除以你走一英里(两个里程碑之间的距离)所花费的秒数。)” 故选A项。

11.上文“I have the same 24 hours in a day as you do, but 1 have made specific choice that allow me to make the most of every day and still feel happy and relaxed.( 我和你一样,每天都有24小时,但我做了具体的选择,让我充分利用每一天,仍然感到快乐和放松)”说明作者做出选择,充分利用每一天,但仍旧感到快乐和轻松,根据下文段落小标题可知,下文就如何充分利用每一天给出了建议,因此空格处应是承上启下,F项中的“help you make the most of your time”与上文“to make the most of every day”一致,“tips”引出下文的建议,因此F项“也许这些建议会帮助你充分利用你的时间”符合语境,承上启下。故选F。
12.根据段落标题“Pick the most important.”可知,本段建议挑选最重要的,下文“Focus on spending time that for you is fun and productive.( 把时间花在那些对你来说有趣和富有成效的事情上)”说明要挑选一些有趣的和富有成效的事情去做,D项中的“what is meaningful in your life”与标题中的“the most important”一致,下文是对“Make choices”具体解释。
13.上文“Many people go crazy trying to figure out how to spend time with friends, family, work, play, etc.( 许多人疯狂地试图弄清楚如何在朋友,家庭,工作,娱乐等方面度过时间)”说明许多人想要弄清楚在生活中如何分配好时间,下文“Find ways to enjoy them in a combined manner.( 找到一种结合的方式来享受它们)”说明可以把事情组合在一起享受,因此推断空格处与上文是转折关系,说明不要试图均衡时间,C项“不要试图在它们之间平衡时间”符合语境。故选C。
根据下文“You would think learning takes more time from you, but actually there are always new ways of doing things that can save you time on daily tasks, freeing you up for the most important. Always be looking for a new way to gain back an hour here or there. Always be looking for a new way to gain back an hour here or there. (你可能会认为学习需要花费了你更多的时间,但实际上总有一些新的方法可以为你节省出做日常事务的时间,为你腾出时间去做最重要的事情。寻找在这里或者那里赢回一个小时的新方法)”可推断,本段讲述学习虽然花费很多时间,但总是能有一些方法为你节省时间做其他事情,因此要做有效的学习者。因此推断B项“做有效的学习者”为段落标题,故选B。
15.下文“Every completion is a small victory that adds up in a big way.( 每一次的完成都是一个小的胜利,累积起来就是一个大的胜利)”说明事情要一件一件去做,G项中的“making lists”与之呼应,因此推断G项“这就是为什么列清单在任何生产手册中都很重要的原因”符合语境,this指代上文“The world won't come to an end in most cases just because you left a few things undone. Celebrate progress and keep refining (改进) toward a happy productive existence.( 在大多数情况下,世界不会因为你没做完几件事而走向末日。庆祝进步,不断改进走向一个快乐而富有成效的存在)”解释了列出清单一件一件完成任务的原因。故选G。

Overtourism Is For Real: How Can You Help?
Travel promotes understanding, expands our minds, makes us better people, and boosts local economies and communities, but the rapid growth of travel has led to overtourism in certain regions and destinations. 1 Certainly not.
●Get creative. The best way to ease pressure on over-touristed destinations is to go somewhere else. Though overtourism is described as a problem affecting the entire world, it’s actually concentrated to a small number of extremely popular spots. That means you have tons of less-visited options to choose from. 3 Why not try a regional alternative or check out a popular destination’s lesser-known sights?
● 4 Minimize impact and maximize experience by skipping major holidays or rush hour. You’ll compete with fewer tourists, save money, experience a different side of a popular place, and boost the economy when tourism is traditionally slower.
Visiting a place that others call home is a privilege (荣幸). Do your part to preserve what makes a destination special in the first place. 5 You may be amazed how much closer you’ll feel to the people there.
A.Visit during off-peak times.
B.So, should we stop traveling?
C.Travel for you and no one else.
D.Can overtourism be avoided then?
E.You can still find relatively undiscovered places.
F.You’ll find yourself virtually alone, or close to it.
G.Consider giving back to the communities you’re visiting.
【答案】1.B 2.C 3.E 4.A 5.G
1.前文“Travel promotes understanding, expands our minds, makes us better people, and boosts local economies and communities, but the rapid growth of travel has led to overtourism in certain regions and destinations.(旅游促进理解,扩展我们的思想,使我们成为更好的人,促进当地经济和社区,但旅游业的快速发展导致了某些地区和目的地的过度旅游)”表明旅游带来了一些问题,后文“The loss of what travel offers would be unacceptable in today’s world.(在当今世界,失去旅行所能提供的东西将是不可接受的)”表示不能失去旅行,结合后文“Certainly not.(当然不)”可知,空处提问能否停止旅行,D选项“那么,我们应该停止旅行吗?”
2.前文“Overvisited destinations are that way for a reason: they’re special. With so many online posts featuring the same places, it’s easy to feel like you’re missing out. Go somewhere only when the landscape, culture or food deeply draws you.(游客过多的目的地是有原因的:它们很特别。网上有这么多关于同一个地方的帖子,很容易让你觉得你错过了。只有当风景、文化或食物深深吸引你时,才去某个地方)”表明不要跟风旅游,C选项“为你而不是其他人旅行”表明要关注自己在旅行时的感受,忠实自己的感受,不用管其余的建议,符合语境。故选C。
3.前文“That means you have tons of less-visited options to choose from.(这意味着你有很多不太受欢迎的选择)及后文“Why not try a regional alternative or check out a popular destination’s lesser-known sights?( 为什么不尝试一个地区性的选择,或者看看一个热门目的地不太为人所知的景点呢)”提出建议,可以选择一些冷门的景点,E选项“你仍然可以找到相对未被发现的地方”符合语境。故选E。
故选A。
5.前文“Do your part to preserve what makes a destination special in the first place.(尽你的一份力,从一开始就保护一个目的地的特别之处)”表明旅游时应保护旅游景点,后文“You may be amazed how much closer you’ll feel to the people there.(你可能会惊讶地发现你和那里的人感觉如此亲近)”表示这样做的感受,G选项“考虑回馈你所访问的社区”承上启下,符合语境。故选G。

As an artist who shares her journey on social media, I’m often asked by curious followers how to begin an art journey. Unfortunately, there is no magic list I can offer. I do remember, though, what it was like to be a complete beginner. So I’ve put together some good tips for starting an art journey.
·Start small. I suggest using a sketchbook (素描本) for small studies. These small studies provide inspiration and may be a springboard for more complex works in the future. 6 You’ll want to look back on your journey to see how far you’ve come.
·Paint often and paint from life. There’s no better way to improve than to put in those brush miles. Whether you paint still lifes, portraits, or landscapes, paint from life as much as possible. 7
·Continually challenge yourself to try something new. 8 Artistic growth can be a bit painful. Welcome to the club;we’ve all been there. I love taking on challenges. I once took up a challenge to create a painting every day for a month and post the works online.
· 9 Seeking and accepting constructive feedback (反馈) is crucial to growth. I post my work on social media and, in turn, have met some of the kindest people. They make me feel valued and respected, no matter my level of artistic ability.
The journey you’re on won’t follow a straight path. 10 Push through, give it time and put in the effort. You will harvest the rewards of an artistic life.
A.Get out of your comfort zone.
B.Make career plans and set goals.
C.Don’t throw away your beginner art.
D.Share your work if you feel comfortable doing so.
E.You’ll hit roadblocks, and you’ll feel discouraged at times.
F.Evaluate your performance and, if needed, redefine your role.
G.You’ll develop that painting muscle memory that only comes with repetition.
【答案】6.C 7.G 8.A 9.D 10.E
I suggest using a sketchbook (素描本) for small studies. These small studies provide inspiration and may be a springboard for more complex works in the future. (从小开始。我建议使用一个素描本进行小规模的学习和实践。这些小的学习和实践可以提供灵感,并成为未来更复杂的作品的跳板)”以及后文“You’ll want to look back on your journey to see how far you’ve come. (你会想要回顾一下自己的艺术之旅,看看自己已经取得多少进步)”可知,空处应是一个过渡句,从给出建议使用一个素描本进行小规模的学习和实践,到回顾自己的艺术之旅,所以C项“Don’t throw away your beginner art. (不要扔掉你的初学时的艺术作品)”符合文意,和后文形成顺承关系。故选C项。
7.分析设空处,位于段尾,是对本段的总结,根据前文“Paint often and paint from life. There’s no better way to improve than to put in those brush miles. Whether you paint still lifes, portraits, or landscapes, paint from life as much as possible. (经常作画,且从生活中作画。没有什么比不断练习更能提高你的艺术水平了。无论你是绘制静物、肖像还是风景,都要尽可能地从真实生活中去观察和绘制)”可知,本段主要讲述不断练习绘画,所以G项“You’ll develop that painting muscle memory that only comes with repetition. (你会逐渐形成只有通过反复练习才能获得的绘画肌肉记忆)”是对前文的总结。故选G项。
8.分析设空处,空处位于第二句,此处应是对前一句的进一步解释,并同时引出后文,根据前文“Continually challenge yourself to try something new. (不断挑战自己,尝试新事物)”以及后文“Artistic growth can be a bit painful. (艺术的成长可能会有点痛苦)”可知,A项“Get out of your comfort zone. (走出你的舒适区)”是对前句的进一步说明,和后文构成顺承关系。故选A项。
9.分析设空处,位于段首,是本段的中心句,根据后文“Seeking and accepting constructive feedback (反馈) is crucial to growth. I post my work on social media and, in turn, have met some of the kindest people. They make me feel valued and respected, no matter my level of artistic ability. (寻求并接受有建设性的反馈对于你的成长非常重要。我在社交媒体上发布我的作品,并因此结识了一些最友好的人。无论我的艺术水平如何,他们都让我感到受到了重视和尊重)”可知,本段主要讲述了是分享自己的作品,所以D项“Share your work if you feel comfortable doing so. (如果你感觉舒适的话,分享你的作品)”符合文意,是本段的中心句。故选D项。
10.分析设空处,空处位于第二句,此处应是对前一句的进一步解释,并同时引出后文,根据前文“The journey you’re on won’t follow a straight path. (你的旅程不会是一条笔直的道路)”以及后文“Push through, give it time and put in the effort. You will harvest the rewards of an artistic life. (坚持下去,给它时间,付出努力。你将收获艺术生活的回报)”可知,E项“You’ll hit roadblocks, and you’ll feel discouraged at times. (你会遇到障碍,有时你会感到气馁)”是对前句的进一步说明,和后文构成顺承关系。故选E项。
(2024年全国甲卷)
What is moderation (适度)? Basically, it means eating only as much food as your body needs. You should feel satisfied at the end of a meal, but not too full. 11 But it doesn't mean saying goodbye to the foods you love.
Take your time. It's important to slow down and think about food as something nutritious rather than just something to eat in between meetings. 12 It actually takes a few minutes for your brain to tell your body that it has had enough food, so eat slowly and stop eating before you feel full.
Eat with others whenever possible. Eating alone, especially in front of the TV or computer, often leads to mindless overeating. And be careful about the foods you keep at hand. It's more challenging to eat in moderation if you have unhealthy snacks at the ready, like cookies. 13
Control emotional (情绪的) eating. 14 Many of us also turn to food to deal with unpleasant emotions such as sadness, loneliness, or boredom. But by learning healthier ways to manage emotions, you can regain control over the food you eat and your feelings.
15 A healthy breakfast can start your metabolism (新陈代谢), while eating small, healthy meals keeps your energy up all day. Avoid eating late at night. Try to eat dinner earlier and fast for 14-16 hours until breakfast the next morning. Studies suggest that eating only when you're most active and giving your digestive system a long break each day may help to regulate weight.
A.Eat properly throughout the day.
B.We don't always eat just to satisfy hunger.
C.Don't swallow a meal on the way to work.
D.Most of us need to double the amount we eat.
E.Instead, surround yourself with healthy choices.
F.For many of us, moderation means eating less than we do now.
G.That won't lead to cheating or giving up on your new eating plan.
【答案】11.F 12.C 13.E 14.B 15.A
11.上文“Basically, it means eating only as much food as your body needs. You should feel satisfied at the end of a meal, but not too full. (基本上,它意味着只吃你身体需要的食物,你应该在用餐结束时感到满足,但不要太饱)”指出,进餐时不要吃太饱,吃东西要适量。下文“But it doesn’t mean saying goodbye to the foods you love. (但这并不意味着要告别你喜欢的食物)”指出,适量进食不是要放弃吃自己喜欢的食物。F项“对我们许多人来说,节制意味着比现在吃的少。”解释了何为适量进食。承上启下,符合文意,选项中的“means”与下文一致。故选F项。
12.根据上文“Take your time. It’s important to slow down and think about food as something nutritious rather than just something to eat in between meetings. (慢慢来。放慢脚步,把食物看作是有营养的东西,而不仅仅是会议间隙吃的东西,这一点很重要)”可推知,本段主要建议读者吃东西要细嚼慢咽,不要过于急躁。C项“不要在上班的路上急忙吃下一顿饭。”承接上文。符合文意。故选C项。
13.上文“It’s more challenging to eat in moderation if you have unhealthy snacks at the ready, like cookies. (如果你已经准备好了不健康的零食,比如饼干,那么适量食用就更具挑战性了。)”指出,吃不健康的食物不利于适度饮食,E项“相反,你应该选择健康的食物。”符合文意,建议读者选择健康的食物。选项中的“healthy”与上文中的“unhealthy”相对应。故选E项。
14.根据本段首句“Control emotional (情绪的) eating. (控制情绪化进食)”以及下文“Many of us also turn to food to deal with unpleasant emotions such as sadness, loneliness, or boredom.(我们中的许多人也会求助于食物来处理不愉快的情绪,如悲伤、孤独或无聊)”可推知,本段主要建议读者不要情绪化的进行暴饮暴食,要进行健康饮食。
15.设空处位于段首,总结全段,下文“A healthy breakfast can start your metabolism (新陈代谢), while eating small, healthy meals keeps your energy up all day, Avoid eating late at night. Try to eat dinner earlier and fast for 14 — 16 hours until breakfast the next morning. (健康的早餐可以启动你的新陈代谢,而吃少量健康的食物可以让你一整天都精力充沛,避免在深夜进食。尽量早点吃晚饭,禁食14 — 16个小时,直到第二天早上吃早餐。)”指出,我们在一天中的每个时间段都要健康饮食。A项“全天合理饮食。”符合语境。故选A项。

有时会出现下列衔接词汇或短语结构: first, second, then, next, later, soon, so, but, however, additionally, what’s more, that is, namely, in other words, for one thing. .
(1) 总分关系:指选项是中心句;
(2) 并列关系:指选项与前句或后句在结构或内容上一致;
(3) 递进关系:指后句对前句进行补充说明或语义上的延伸;
(4) 转折关系;指选项与前句或后句语义相反或相对,后句往往是对前句的修正,表达作者的真正意图;
(6) 概括阐释:指前句对后句或后句对前句进行归纳概括,若前句归纳,后句即是对前句的具体阐释,使得概念更加清晰易懂;若后句概括,即后句是对前句所阐释的内容进行意义整合;
(7) 因果关系:指选项与前后句构成因果关系;
一是掌握特点:“总”是指总体概括,“分”指的是内容的具体展开;
一是掌握特点:提出观点,然后对该观点解释说明;
故选A。
【答案】A
一是掌握特点:思维上的形象(例子、类比等)和抽象(观点)的辩证关系;
一是掌握特点:指英语行文中后句与前句构成逆转逻辑关系;
1】Swearing to lose 20 pounds or to run a marathon seems like goals leading to happiness, but they take time to achieve. By focusing on not having accomplished them yet, you will start to feel down on yourself. _________. However: if you focus on the small milestones that occur along the way, you will feel positive about your progress, which will give you the strength to keep going.

A.Do deep breathing exercises.
B.Take a moment to slow down.
C.Moving your body mindfully can help things seem clearer.
D.But you can do something to clear your mind and calm things down.
E.Set down everything that comes to mind, letting all pour out onto the page.

Human activities have made global rainfall more unstable over the past century, a new study suggests. 6 . Published Friday in the journal Science, it shows that rainfall variability has increased since the 20th century, ranging from global to regional scales and from daily to seasonal.

Do you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or uninterested in life lately? 11 There are some effective ways to deal with these feelings and regain control over your life.
12
If you’re feeling lost, the first step to regaining direction is to admit your feelings to yourself. Remind yourself that it’s perfectly normal to feel disappointed, or unfulfilled sometimes— everybody does at some point! These feelings are natural reactions to overwhelming events or changes.
Ask yourself why you’re feeling lost.
You don’t have to unearth the answer right away. Just ask yourself introspective (内省的) questions while journaling or meditating to turn your attention inward. 13 The journey to find your way again is highly personal and there are no right or wrong feelings to have!
Replace negative behavior or habits with healthier routines.
Do you have any less-than-helpful habits that weigh you down, like endlessly scrolling through social media or snapping at loved ones when you’re stressed? 14 Instead, swap these habits with new, positive ones.
Work with a mental health professional if you’re stuck.
It’s normal to need outside guidance to find your way in life again. If you find yourself at a loss for what to do next or aren’t sure how to cope with your feelings, see a therapist or counselor. 15 Additionally, they can show you how to make meaningful changes in your life to make you happier, healthier, and more enthusiastic about the future.
A.Do things that make you feel good.
B.If you do, know that you’re not alone.
C.Acknowledge and accept your feelings.
D.Allow yourself to think and process without judgment.
E.They can help you identify your feelings and the causes of them.
F.When you’re lost, it’s normal to lean into these unhealthy routines.
G.So, identify your top priorities and focus your time and energy on them.

Overtourism Is For Real: How Can You Help?
Travel promotes understanding, expands our minds, makes us better people, and boosts local economies and communities, but the rapid growth of travel has led to overtourism in certain regions and destinations. 1 Certainly not.
