2024-2025学年英语人教版九年级全册12月月考模拟练习1 (满分 90分,考试时间 100分钟) 班级__________ 姓名___________ 笔试部分 一、完形填空(共 15小题,每小题 1分,满分 15分) One of the easiest ways to stop the spread of disease is to simply wash your hands. Twenty seconds of handwashing with soap (肥皂) and water can reduce 1 and save lives. But, many people, especially children, do not have good handwashing habits. One 2 is that children do not wash their hands often enough or long enough. Children may think that it is a 3 thing to do. To help 4 this problem, Amanat Anand and Shubham Issar from India created a product (产品) called the SoaPen to turn handwashing into a 5 activity. As the name suggests, the SoaPen is a pen made out of soap that kids can 6 with. The children draw on their hands with the soap pen and then wash it off. If 7 do not spend enough time washing it off, the colors will remain (残留) on the children’s hands. It’s a fun 8 to teach kids how to wash their hands. Issar said the SoaPen was invented to teach kids good handwashing habits and it ensured (保证) that children spent enough time washing their hands. This may be especially 9 in a classroom. Often a 10 does not have the time to ensure that each child has washed their hands 11 . “Kids actually wash their hands for the proper amount of time 12 they’re drawing on their hands, and under water they have to rub (摩擦) really hard to remove (去除) the drawing. So they are actually (实际上) washing their hands 13 just going under water. ” The product could have a great 14 on public health. However, many years ago there were no clocks and knowing the time was not so easy. Over the centuries, people have developed different ways of telling the time. About 5,500 years ago, the Egyptians invented the sun clock. This was a tall stone building. Its shadow (影子) showed the movement of the sun. So people were able to know midday. The Egyptians made a sundial about 3,500 years ago. It was smaller than the sun clock and could let people know the time for half a day. On cloudy days or at night it was impossible to tell the time with a sun clock or a sundial. Water clocks were the first clocks not to use the sun. The idea is simple. Water flows (流动) from one bottle to another. When the water reaches a certain level, it shows the hours. The Egyptians used water clocks about 3,400 years ago. These clocks were popular in the Middle East and China. But they failed to make people know the exact time. In the 13th century, the mechanical clock was invented. This was more exact, but it was expensive to make one. Over the next few centuries it was developed. For example, spring (发条) were added around 1500. This enabled people to get the correct time and allowed clocks to be smaller. In 1927, the first quartz clock was developed. Clocks became cheaper to build. It’s also cheaper for ordinary people to own a clock. People began depending on them more and more to run business, markets and so on. More recently, in 1956, came the digital clock. And nowadays satellites send our mobile phones the time to the exact second. There has been a lot of progress in timekeeping. Clocks are always changing but some things never change. Many of us still have trouble getting out of bed on time and not being late for school or work. 根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。 21.According to the passage, we can’t use the ________ to tell the time on a rainy day. The company is called CETIA.It built two machines that use AI to help recycle clothes and shoes. With AI technology, one machine can find and cut off zippers and buttons (拉链和纽扣) from  clothes, while the other machine can pull off soles (鞋底) from shoes easily. This sounds simple, but nobody has ever done it before. “Nobody recycled soles before because it was hard to sort them from shoes,” said the leader of CETIA.People had to put shoes on an oven to melt (熔化) the glue and pull off the soles by hand. But CETIA’s machine can do it very easily. Some clothes can be recycled into materials for houses or roads. But most clothes don’t become clothès again. That’s because clothes need materials that must be sorted carefully by hand. That usually takes a long time and is expensive. But CETIA’s machine can sort faster and better than people. It can even sort clothes by color and material, making it easier to recycle them into clothes again. Recycling clothes and shoes is important because it can reduce waste and can even create new jobs. CETIA is doing amazing work by developing those recycling machines. They’re showing us that with smart thinking, we can find ways to solve big problems. 根据材料内容选择最佳答案。 26.What is CETIA? It might seem strange to say that something so simple-looking and so common could be so important. 31 . Firstly, wheels influence almost every part of our lives. Wheels are used, for example, in clocks, machines and cars. If you visit just one factory, you will see how important wheels are. 32 . Secondly, wheels play a great part in food production. Wheels are used to grind (磨碎) different kinds of corn into flour (面粉). They are then used to mix flour and other foods into bread. We also need wheels to transport (运输) the wheat (小麦). 33 . Thirdly, our world would be completely different if we did not have the wheel for transport. Before the wheel was invented, people used to have to travel on foot or by riding on an animal. They didn’t know where to put their heavy bags. 34 That is what we would be doing now if we did not have the wheel. Everything would take longer to do. We would be back to the Stone Age if the clever ancient people had not invented the wheel. Our modern world would simply be impossible. 35 . A.It took long to finish their journeys. B.You will see wheels on almost every machine. C.The wheel is surely the most important invention of all time. D.But if you consider the following points, you will probably agree with me. E.If we did not have the wheel, we would have much difficulty in food production. 三、选词填空(共 10小题,每小题 1分,满分 10分) 阅读短文,从方框中选择适当的词并用其正确形式填空,使短文通顺、意思完整。每空限填一词,每词限用一次。 tell    support    try    excited    they    when    have    feeling    with    finally My life was perfect when I was twelve years old.
