常见的主旨大意题的题干表达方式有“The poster introduces us to _______.” “The e-mail mainly tells us about _______.”
What is the author’s attitude towards...” “What does the author think of the...?”
1.“找共同点题”试题大多出现在应用文最后—题或第一题;
2.属于复杂细节理解题,可能会涉及阅读材料多处;
What do the four... have in common?
1.结构法:如果属于“总分总”结构,多从“总处”找依据;
2.排除法:可以运用排除法,只要一项不合要求就应该排除;
For more information, please click here.

Defeating Daniil Medvedev in New York on Sunday, Djokovic, one of the greatest tennis player, bagging 24 Grand Slam (大满贯) singles titles, equalized the record held by Australian Margaret Court, the same number of singles titles in the all-time count.
With the victory, Djokovic became the oldest US Open men’s singles champion in the Open Era. In total, he has 10 Australian Opens, seven Wimbledons, four US Opens and three Roland Garros titles, making him the only man to win all four majors at least three times. “When I realized that, I started to dream new dreams and set new goals. I never imagined that I would be here talking about 24 Slams,” he said afterwards.
Djokovic reached all finals in the Grand Slams in 2023, and the only loss was at Wimbledon, when Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, 20, brought home the champion after an intense battle lasting four hours and 43 minutes.
Djokovic, at 36, shows few signs of losing physical edge. He stays healthy, keeps exceptional skills and always desires to win more. Capturing his first Grand Slam in 2008, Djokovic bagged half of his 24 major titles after he turned 30.
“One of the biggest lessons I have learned probably mentally throughout my career is that even if you find a formula (方案) that works, it’s not a guarantee, and actually most likely it’s not going to work the next year, so I keep reinventing myself and always trying to find better ways to win,” said Djokovic.
For Djokovic, who always gets tough when the going gets tough, 24 is just a number that he can go beyond. “I’ll continue to prioritize Grand Slams as my most important tournaments and where I want to play the best tennis. That will stay the same in the next season, or I don’t know how many more seasons I have in my legs,” he added, “So, let’s see.”
1.What does the underlined word “equalized” in the first paragraph probably mean?
A.Set. B.Broke. C.Levelled. D.Approached.
2.What can we know about Djokovic according to the passage?
A.He won 12 Grand Slams in his thirties.
B.He won all the finals in the Grand Slams in 2023.
C.He attached the same importance to all the matches.
D.He is the oldest men’s singles champion in the open era.
3.What seems the “secret” of Djokovic’s great achievement?
A.Losing physical edge. B.Attending more Grand Slams.
C.Following a good formula. D.Finding flexible and proper strategies.
4.Which of the following can best describe Djokovic?
A.Confident and emotional. B.Ambitious and devoted.
C.Aggressive and stubborn. D.Enthusiastic and generous.
根据划线单词前的“Defeating Daniil Medvedev in New York on Sunday, Djokovic, one of the greatest tennis player, bagging 24 Grand Slam (大满贯) singles titles(周日,德约科维奇在纽约击败了丹尼尔·梅德韦杰夫,这位最伟大的网球运动员之一,获得了24个大满贯单打冠军)”可知,德约科维奇是最伟大的网球运动员之一,获得了24个大满贯,结合下文中的“the record held by Australian Margaret Court, the same number of singles titles in the all-time count.(澳大利亚人玛格丽特·考特保持的记录,在历史上获得单打冠军的次数相同。)”
根据第四段中的“Capturing his first Grand Slam in 2008, Djokovic bagged half of his 24 major titles after he turned 30.(2008年,德约科维奇获得了他的第一个大满贯,在他30岁之后,他获得了24个大满贯中的一半。)” 故选A项。
根据倒数第二段中的““One of the biggest lessons I have learned probably mentally throughout my career is that even if you find a formula (方案) that works, it’s not a guarantee, and actually most likely it’s not going to work the next year, so I keep reinventing myself and always trying to find better ways to win,” said Djokovic.(德约科维奇说:“在我的整个职业生涯中,我学到的最重要的一课可能是,即使你找到了一个有效的方案,也不能保证它是有效的,实际上很可能明年它也不会有效,所以我不断地改造自己,总是试图找到更好的方法来赢得比赛。”)”
根据尾段中的““I’ll continue to prioritize Grand Slams as my most important tournaments and where I want to play the best tennis. That will stay the same in the next season, or I don’t know how many more seasons I have in my legs,” he added, “So, let’s see.”(“我将继续把大满贯作为我最重要的比赛,我想在那里打出最好的网球。

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), hundreds of marine (海洋的) species across the world come under endangered and critically endangered categories. Some of the endangered and recognizable marine species are named here.
Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle
The Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle, also known as the Atlantic Ridley Sea Turtle, is endangered as the rarest and smallest sea turtle.
Distributed throughout the Gulf of Mexico and U.S. Atlantic seaboard, they gather off the coast in northeastern Mexico and come ashore in large groups to lay eggs every year. As marine reptiles (爬行动物), they are threatened by oil spills, lack of food and marine pollution.
Vaquita
As a rare marine mammal, Vaquita is on the edge of extinction only a half-century after its first sighting.
Extensive fishing in the Gulf of California has endangered this marine species, resulting in a gradual drop in population since the 1940s. According to reports, there are only a dozen of these marine mammals left in the world since the percentage of decline in their population was as much as 90% since 2011.
Whale
Fin Whale is the second-largest mammal on the planet after Blue Whale and it is also a victim of hunting. According to estimates, the global population of Fin Whale ranges from below 100,000 to around 119,000.
Humpback Whale, another whale species, has also been listed as an endangered marine species. Before the introduction of the whaling moratorium (暂停) in 1966, the species was hunted for its fur, while the population dropped by 90%. Currently, around 2,500 Humpback Whales survive in the world.
Hawaiian Monk Seal
A native of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, Hawaiian Monk Seal is one of the earless seals who live on warm beaches, unlike other seals.
According to recent research, only 1,400 Hawaiian Monk Seals remain on the Islands. These seals are mainly threatened by predators like tiger sharks. Besides, other reasons like habitat loss and food limitation also contribute to their critical situation.
1.Why do Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtles land on the beach in large groups?
A.To nest. B.To reproduce. C.To avoid attack. D.To hunt foods.
2.What is the major threat to Hawaiian Monk Seal?
A.Global warming. B.Lack of food. C.Natural enemies. D.Habitat pollution.

常见的主旨大意题的题干表达方式有“The poster introduces us to _______.” “The e-mail mainly tells us about _______.”
What is the author’s attitude towards...” “What does the author think of the...?”
1.“找共同点题”试题大多出现在应用文最后—题或第一题;
2.属于复杂细节理解题,可能会涉及阅读材料多处;
What do the four... have in common?
1.结构法:如果属于“总分总”结构,多从“总处”找依据;
2.排除法:可以运用排除法,只要一项不合要求就应该排除;

Tom Sawyer Play Is an Adventure
A 35-minute hand-clapping, foot-stomping musical version of a Mark Twain favorite returns with this Tall Stacks festival.
“Tom Sawyer: A River Adventure” has all the good stuff, including the fence painting, the graveyard, the island and the cave. It is adapted by Joe McDonough, with music by David Kisor. That’s the local stage writing team that creates many of the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s original musicals, along with the holiday family musicals at Ensemble Theatre.
This year Nathan Turner of Burlington is Tom Sawyer, and Robbie McMath of Fort Mitchell is Huck Finn.
Tumer, a 10th-grader at School for Creative and Performing Arts, is a familiar presence on Cincinnati’s stages. He is a star act or of Children’s Theatre, having played leading roles in “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and “The Wizard of Oz,” and is fresh from Jersey Production “Ragtime”.
McMath is a junior at Beechwood High School. He was in the cast of “Tom Sawyer” when it was first performed and is a Children’s Theatre regular, with five shows to his credit. This summer he attended Kentucky’s Governor’s School for the Arts in Musical Theatre.
Note to teachers: Children’s Theatre has a study guide demonstrating how math and science can be taught through “Tom Sawyer.” For downloadable lessons, visit the official website of Children’s Theatre.
