四、阅读理解
A
Dear Nancy's parents,
My daughter had a bullying(欺凌)problem a couple of years ago. It wasn't easy, but I ended it. When things are as serious as you describe, it is no time to be silent. These kids probably know each other from school, so take the rude text messages sent by the bully directly to the headmaster and show them to him. Describe to him how it is affecting your 13-year-old daughter. Tell him you will not stand it and you want him to put an end to it now.
Bullying is a dangerous and serious offense these days, and any good headmaster will take your charges seriously. He will probably address the issues with the parents. If they are crappy parents, then they may do nothing to their child. You may have to repeat this process several times, but you need to keep a check on those text messages and don't allow your child to delete them.
Now is the time to draw your child close and take care of her, because she needs it. My daughter did not like me being involved(参与的)either, but you are the only hope she has of solving this problem, so do it and mean business. Always be polite, but straightforward. The headmaster and the parents must know you mean business.
If repeated meetings with the headmaster ( and parents, if he allows it ) does not solve the problem, then I would consider hiring a lawyer. That will send the message across loud and clear. When you are talking about financial loss, most parents will stand up and take notice and act to keep their kid under control!
Good luck-I wish you the best in this terrible situation.
Yours,
Rachel

Dear Aunt Aggie,
I’m having a problem with my classmate, Rena. A week ago I wrote an email to another classmate, Beth. I said some things about Rena that perhaps weren’t very nice in it. Unluckily, when Beth was writing back to me, she accidentally forwarded (无意间转发) the message to Rena! Now Rena is really angry with me and doesn’t talk to me. And Beth is unhappy, either. She has said sorry to me a hundred times already, but the harm is done. I feel bad, because I would never have said those things to Rena. How do I get her to forgive me?
Joy

Dear Joy,
This problem is more common than you might think! Sometimes the e-mail is very dangerous, because you don’t know where your message can end up! First of all, you should say sorry to Rena right away. If you say sorry to her, she may not be angry with you any more, and she may talk to you again. It may take time for her to be able to forgive you, but that’s up to her. Then, do something nice to show that you’re truly sorry. It’s usually helpful if someone just does something nice without saying anything. Good luck!
Aggie
