How do people name their children?Different countries have different ways to name their children.Let's take a look at a few.
In Spain,a child usually has two given names and two surnames. The first surname is the same as the father's first surname, and the second is the mother's first surname. The given names may be the same as a grandparent's.
In Nigeria, children's names are chosen by family elders. The children's parents wait for names from the grandparents and other important family members. These names describe the day of the baby's birth. The baby's name is announced at a party on the eighth day after the child's birth.
In Turkey, babies are often named according to the time of their birth. For example,if a child was born in spring, the chosen name might be Bahar. It means spring.A baby born during bad weather might be named Tufan. It means storm.

Maryland:Bengies DriveIn Theater
The 64yearold Bengies (in Middle River) boasts the biggest movie theater screen in the states. It measures 52 feet high by 120 feet wide, which means films aren't cropped to fit the display. The Middle River business' season is longer than most as they open in early spring and don't close until late fall.

Only 23 miles from Portland in Newberg, the drivein has been in the same family since Grandpa Francis built it in 1953.Unlike many of its competitors, the 99W rules allow folks to bring in outside food.
Illinois:Harvest Moon Twin DriveIn
Go green while going to the movies in Gibson City,Illinois.Although the entertainment complex got its start in 1954,the family in charge nowadays has started several ecofriendly initiatives(措施)since taking over in 1989 including installing(安装)LED lighting, using recycled materials, and powering approximately 25 percent of their operations with solar and wind energy.
Pennsylvania:Shankweiler's DriveIn Theater
Wilson Shankweiler opened the country's second drivein in Pennsylvania in April 1934.Today,it stands as the oldest stilloperating drivein in the country. It is to be respected as it has lasted through changing technology, going from speakers on poles to digital projection(数码投影)and sound in 2013,and survived 1955's Hurricane Diane.

People who write dramas, also called plays, are known as playwrights or dramatists. Some popular types of dramas include comedy, tragedy, farce(滑稽戏),opera and docudramas. Now,I'd like to tell you something about them.
Lighter in tone, comedies try to make the audience laugh and usually come to a happy ending.Comedies put unusual characters in special situations, causing them to do and say funny things.Comedies can also be sarcastic (讽刺的) in nature, creating fun at serious topics. There are also several different types of comedies, including the romantic comedy, the comedy of manners and so on.
Tragedy is based on darker themes.Generally, tragedies show serious subjects like death, disaster, and human suffering in a way that makes the audience think.Hardly enjoying happy endings, characters in tragedies, like Shakespeare's Hamlet, are often troubled by their character flaws (缺点) that finally lead to their death.
A farce is a type of drama in which characters overact and present physical humor.Examples of farce include the play Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett and the hit Airplane! in 1980.
Opera is a type of drama which combines theater, literature, music, and dance to tell stories of tragedy or comedy.Since characters express their feelings through singing rather than dialogue, performers must be both skilled actors and singers.La bohème by Giacomo Puccini and Falstaff by Giuseppe Verdi are classic examples of opera.
A docudrama is another kind of drama.Docudramas talk about historic events or nonfictional situations, which are more often presented on television than in movie theaters.Popular examples of docudramas include the movies Apollo 13 and 12 Years a Slave.

I'm Jeff Logan, president of Logan Luxury Theaters Corporation.I'm very sorry to tell you many cinemas are at risk of closing permanently (永久性地).That's something we would hate to see happen.
Watching the newest box office movie and eating a big bucket of popcorn is an experience that many of us have enjoyed for a very long time.We all have fond memories of going to a theater of our first date or the first movie we saw with our children.A movie theater is so important to the fabric of the local community. It's a place where we all gather,no matter what our interests, and no matter what ages, young and old, rich and poor.
But how much longer will classic theaters remain open?Just like other industries, movie theaters have been hit hard by the pandemic (流行病) and are going dark. The entire industry is being controlled by the pandemic, because the studios don't want to release their new movies until all the theaters can be open.As we all know, the theaters can't do well and can't get back to full 7day a week at full speed operation without new movies to play.
Recently, the Logan Luxury 5 Cinema in Mitchell reopened for the weekends. However, like many theaters,it is only operating at about 10 percent capacity.Since opening, several new safety measures have been put in place.Block off every other row.People are asked to leave three seats between them and the next group.Staff spray the theater with disinfectant (消毒剂) after every show. And sanitizer stations can be found throughout the theater.
Even so,some people still aren't comfortable going to a movie theater yet.I fully understand that.Anyhow,I just hope we must do something else to help out our local theaters, like taking part in a new national proposal called “Save Your Cinema.”

C.Public support. D.Common vision.
29.Why are the film studios unwilling to release the new movies?
A.Cinemas don't operate normally.
B.New movies aren't welcomed.
C.People don't like going to cinema.
D.Many cinemas go out of business.
“Cinemas don't operate normally.” 故选A项。]
30.What can we infer about the Logan Luxury 5 Cinema after its reopening?
A.It makes a lot of money.
B.It does well in disease prevention.
C.It receives a large audience every day.
D.It offers more enjoyable experience.
31.What is the purpose of this text?
A.To share the good old days. B.To explain a social problem.
C.To recommend a theater. D.To ask for people's help.

China's Mars rover,Tianwen1,will likely attempt to land at a site in northeastern Mars, according to a new paper published just days ahead of the mission's launch. The paper was written by team members of China's Tianwen1 Mars mission, which aims to send an orbiter and a rover to the Red Planet.
The study reveals new details about Tianwen1,outlining its intended landing area, science goals and the names of instruments aboard the spacecraft. It also stresses the historic nature of the mission:Not only is Tianwen1 China's first fully homegrown Mars mission,it's also the first to carry both an orbiter and a rover.
Tianwen1 means “questions to heaven” and was taken from the title of a poem by Qu Yuan (340 — 278 BC).The spacecraft will reach Mars in February 2021,at the same time as NASA's Perseverance rover and the United Arab Emirates' Hope orbiter launched on Sunday (July 19).However,China's rover will remain attached to the orbiter for two to three months before attempting its landing, according to the paper.
The chosen landing area is Utopia Planitia,a huge basin formed by a large impact far back in Mars' history that was also the region where NASA's Viking 2 lander touched down in 1976.China had isolated a part of the vast plain as a landing area, which means there will be more time and atmosphere for the entry spacecraft to slow down and safely land on the surface. The latitude is also suitable for receiving enough sunlight to power the 240 kilograms rover. The relatively smooth surface will also be helpful for roving. The mission also benefits from the engineering heritage of China's Chang'e lunar exploration program, the paper noted.
The Tianwen1 orbiter will operate in a polar orbit in order to map Mars. The rover will also investigate the surface soil characteristics and waterice distribution with its own Subsurface Exploration Radar. It will also analyze surface material composition and characteristics of the Martian climate and environment on the surface.
32.What's the purpose of the passage?
A.To lay out key details about Tianwen1.
B.To state how Tianwen1 was invented.
C.To stress the historic meaning of Tianwen1.
D.To analyze characteristics of the Martian climate.
故选A。]
33.What is most special about Tianwen1 according to Para.2?
A.It was named after Qu Yuan,a famous poet in Chinese history.
B.It will reach Mars at the same time as NASA's Viking 2.
C.It will remain for 2 or 3 months on Mars.
D.It will complete orbiting and roving in a Mars mission.
34.Why is Utopia Planitia chosen as the landing area of Tianwen1?
A.The rare air there is suitable for the flight of Tianwen1.
B.The area can protect Tianwen1 from too much sunlight.
C.It has relatively smooth surface, which is helpful for roving.
D.There is no spacecraft successfully landing there in history.
35.The last paragraph mainly states ________.
A.Tianwen1's historic contributions
B.Tianwen1's new radar instruments
C.Tianwen1's academic advantages
D.Tianwen1's scientific goals

The following stories are not mine, but my father's.I was too small to really do anything at the time. But I stood to witness them.I grew up thinking all of the world was like my father.I think that all my life has been full of both kindness and cruelty. But the kindness affected me deeper than anything else.My father says that this may go on the internet, but asks that it should not be published in paper form as these are very personal to him.
The first act of kindness that I can remember was when I was very little,I was six years old,my family and I had been out camping.Mom,Dad and sisters were ready to go home.As we put everything in the truck to go home,Dad told us to move the fire extinguisher from the back of the truck to under the driver's seat and told us a story of how a friend had been trapped in a burning car,and how since then it was always important for him to have an extinguisher ready.
Mom always rolled her eyes— it was the one hundredthousandth time he had told the story.
On our way home from the lake where we camped,we took a short cut, which was not a short cut at all.It was getting late and about to rain.Mom started to get nervous.I didn't realize everyone had gone quiet.I was enjoying looking at the clouds as we turned a long corner.
My dad turned into the left lane, stopped the truck and ran out.Mom told him to come back.It was then that I looked out of the windshield and saw a little red car on the side of the road.Smoke was coming out of the hood. Before my father reached the driver's side door,it burst into flames.

Paragraph 1:
Dad came back to the van and took out his knife.Approaching the burning car bravely,my father struggled to cut the driver's seat belt and pulled him back to the van. Then Dad took out the fire extinguisher under his seat and headed for the car once more.Luckily, the fire had been brought under control before things got worse. What a narrow escape! The young driver would have been killed without my father's kindness and bravery.Luckily, the man was only slightly injured and came to himself after a while.Warmhearted,my father even volunteered to drive him to their home.
Paragraph 2:
Dad left Mom and my older sister on the road, and took the man to their home an hour's away. His parents could not help expressing their appreciation for my father's timely help, without which their son would never have survived the terrible accident.Since then,we have never taken my father's story lightly and his kindness has been planted deeply in my mind. The experience taught us not only the importance of preparing for the urgent situation, but also the significance of being kind.
