If a traditional sport bores you, it's time to try something new! Cycling, but outdoors on city roads; surfing, but on the land; playing Frisbee (飞碟游戏), but with a group of people... New sports have been bringing fresh air to our minds and more joy to exercise.
National fitness has been a part of the national plan, aiming to keep people healthier. With great attention paid in support of national fitness, new sports begin to develop. According to a study by Houlang Research Institute, more than 93% of young people born after 2000 are interested in doing sports in the city.
Why do young people like new sports? Houlang's report says that except for keeping fit as a kind of exercise, many young people pick them up to socialize—allowing them to build up their social circles. Players tend to have online group chats talking about their usual activities and simply sharing their lives.
New sports are also “fit for taking photos and are less prevented by places”, ZouQingling, the CEO of Lvmama, told China News Service. Gathered together through social media, people can enjoy new sports at many places in the city, from parks to the side of roads.
Qianjiang Evening News also says that new sports are easier for new players to start, different from traditional sports, such as football and basketball, which usually require strict and difficult rules. Thus, new sports are less competitive but could bring more fun.
New sports have brought different lifestyles in China as they express various sorts of youth (青春) and fun. This new thing also shows that more people are prepared to enjoy sports, according to China News Service.

Jesse Dufton was born with a genetic condition, retinitis pigmentosa (色素性视网膜炎), and over the years, his eyesight gradually worsened. By the time he got to university in Bath to study Chemistry it had got to the point where he couldn't really see images at all, only the difference between light and dark. And a few years later, he was almost 100% blind.
Jesse's mum was a teacher and his dad ran a charity, and they've always encouraged and supported him in everything.
Jesse started climbing when he was young. His dad took him up his first rock route when he was two. All his early climbing was outdoor traditional climbing. His dad had been in the Mountain Rescue and was part of a mountaineering club, so they would go for weekends away climbing throughout the UK.
Jesse's father taught him everything and guided his first route outside when he was 11.At this time he had about 30% blurry (模糊不清的) central vision. He could just see well enough to place rock equipment, but not well enough to pick out the routes from the ground.
At university, he joined the Mountaineering Club and was able to climb much more frequently. They had regular trips to indoor walls and weekends away outdoors. He developed a great circle of climbing friends and went on multiple trips to Europe. On these he started Alpine climbing and ice climbing too.
But when his sight dropped to a level where he could no longer read, it started to be difficult to place equipment as he couldn't see whether it was properly seated. He also stopped being able to pick out the holds at indoor walls.
Jesse thought he might have to give up climbing as his eyesight got worse. But his parents never give up hopes for him. They planned a climbing for the family and encouraged Jesse to have a try again. Jesse smiled because he knew his parents would always be his best guide.

Jesse
Jesse's mum was a teacher and his dad ran a charity, and they've always encouraged and supported him in everything.
At university, he joined the Mountaineering Club and was able to climb much more frequently.
Jesse started climbing when he was young.
Jesse smiled because he knew his parents would always be his best guide.
Jesse thought he might have to give up climbing as his eyesight got worse.
Though Jesse's bad eyesight was a tough problem, he was still determined to give it a try as a brave person.
With a proud smile on his tanned face, he explained that climbing brought him not only joy but also a sense of satisfaction.
Most importantly, he realized that it is perseverance that is the key to success.
It was a route like a milestone (里程碑) and it was not easy.Though Jesse's bad eyesight was a tough problem, he was still determined to give it a try as a brave person. Tired and pale, the tall and thin boy fell down halfway many times because the road was rough and he couldn't see it clearly. Whenever he felt depressed, his parents would cheer for him. Inspired by them, he set his teeth and insisted on climbing up. Finally, he reached the top with the guidance of his parents. Although exhausted and breathless, he was full of joy and yelled with excitement, “I made it!”
Some people asked Jesse why he chose to try climbing. With a proud smile on his tanned face, he explained that climbing brought him not only joy but also a sense of satisfaction. Besides, he sincerely expressed his gratitude to his selfless parents. Without their support and encouragement, never could he complete such a challenging task. Most importantly, he realized that it is perseverance (毅力) that is the key to success.

Morocco's national women's soccer team is set to make its first appearance at the FIFA Women's World Cup. After years of being largely hidden, Moroccan women's soccer is getting new growth at home and around the world.
During one game in May, the audience was not very big. The game was between a Moroccan national women's professional league team and the armed forces team called ASFAR. ASFAR, a strong women's team in Morocco, won 7 to 0.
Dressed in a shirt reading “Morocco” in Arabic, Aliae Benazzouza went to the field to meet the players. “I was very happy,” the young girl said. Idriss Benazzouza is Aliae's father. “I teach my daughters confidence, not fear,” he said. “There is no difference between men and women in physical exercise.”

Morocco hosted the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations. The event drew large numbers of fans and augmented interest in this year's worldwide women's championship.
Hiba Karami plays for a local team called Fath Union Sport. The development in women's soccer has made a dream of hers a reality. Last year, Karami was one of the players playing for Morocco in the FIFA under-17 Women's World Cup. “Some kids or men would say that women belonged (属于) in the kitchen and weren't made for soccer,” she said. “I knew that I loved the game and that I would play. Boys in my neighborhood accepted me because I played better than they did and they thought of me as a role model.”
Nouhaila Benzina also plays for the national team and for ASFAR. She said her soccer career (职业) opened up new chances for her. The 25-year-old never saw soccer going against her clothing. Swimming is well known to offer many health benefits, including building endurance and muscle strength. But what about swimming in icy cold water? This might not sound very appealing, but there's evidence that it can actually be good for us.
Cold-water swimming is also called wild swimming, where people swim in natural bodies of water such as ponds, rivers, and the sea. Although jumping in might give a quick shock to the body, many enthusiasts claim they get used to it over time. In fact, research has found it to have many physical and mental benefits.
Apart from being a great way to exercise, spending time in the outdoors and near water can improve overall well-being. There's plenty of anecdotal (传闻的) evidence suggesting that cold-water swimming has cured people's illness, ranging from pain relief to an overall sense of feeling amazed.
One reason why getting into cold water might be beneficial is that it causes a stress response in the body. The more people do it, the better their reaction to stress becomes. Additionally, some experts believe that cold-water swimming helps the body prepare for other forms of stress by adapting to similar stressors. For example, it also helps reduce the stress of exercising at high altitudes.
People who want to try cold-water swimming should approach it with caution, swim with a friend if possible, and start during the summer when the temperatures are warmer. It might not be for everyone, but for those willing to take risks, the extra health benefits might be worth it.

The New York Marathon (马拉松) is my goal for this year. I know I am never going to win a race but now, when I get anything negative, I will think of the kind gentleman who really believed, “You very good... you very fast.”
At the time, I was living in the Bay Area, and my mother had come to visit for a few days. On the last day of her stay, I was preparing to go out for a run. I picked up a T-shirt I just bought the other day from a Chinese clothing shop — it had some Chinese characters on the front, and a scene of Honolulu Chinatown on the back. I didn't speak Chinese, but somehow this special T-shirt was quite soft and good for exercise. Working in a very negative environment, I found morning runs very beneficial — body tired but mind awake.
And I had always met an elderly Chinese gentleman walking on the opposite side of the trail (道路) when I was running on other mornings. I had always said, “Good morning,” and he had always smiled warmly and nodded his head slightly.
As I was going out the door, my mother suddenly said, “I don't think running is so hot — that famous runner died.” I started to recount what I had read about Jim Fixx, and how running had probably been the contributing factor to his living far longer than most of the other members of his family, but I knew there was absolutely no point.
As I started running on my favorite trail, I found I couldn't shake my mother's statement. I was so discouraged that I could hardly run. I began thinking, “Why do I run at all? Serious runners probably think I look silly! I might have a heart attack on the trail — my dad had a fatal (致命的) heart attack at 50 years old, and he was seemingly in better shape than I am.”
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;

My mother's statement remained in my mind like a giant blanket. Gradually, my jog slowed to a walk. My body drained of energy and my mind felt extremely defeated. Just as I was going to turn around and head for home — feeling more discouraged than I could recall in years — I saw that elderly Chinese gentleman again. Seeing my shirt in the distance had prompted him to march towards me. With limited English he pointed to the letters and enthusiastically said, “You very good... you very fast.”
Upon hearing the man's words, I felt more unexplained strength in my step. He cast his usual warm smile at me and gave me a thumb up as we passed each other. A surge of warmth across my whole body, I didn't turn from the trail where my previous dark mood had intended. Thanks to that little boost, I continued for six more miles that day instead. I was not that fast, but was very good in my spirit and my heart. Luckily, the elderly gentleman saved me from the shadow of negative feedback.
