It's a great honor for me to introduce a most influential man who was dedicated to practising medicine for the people of China—Dr Norman Bethune.Born in 1890 in Canada，he determined to break boundaries by becoming one of the first few foreign doctors to assist the Chinese in the wartime struggle. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In January 1938，he left Canada to relieve the soldiers in China's Eighth Route Army of pain at the risk of losing his life.It was almost two months before he reached Yan'an.By June，as he tried his best to save the wounded soldiers at the front，he found that there weren't medicines or surgical instruments，not to mention well-trained medical staff.Besides，it was vital that the front(should) have suitable medical equipment，so he was engaged in inventing them.Unfortunately，having been infected by blood poisoning，he died on 12 November 1939.
