long
spoon,

Born
in
1800,
Barry,
a
dog,
saved
more
than
40
people

the
snowy
Swiss
Alps.
According
to
a
story,
he
once
found
a
boy
at
the
edge
of
an
icy
cliff(悬崖)
that
no
human
could
reach.
Barry
carefuly
woke
up
the
child
by
touching
his
face.
Then
the
boy
threw
his
arms
around
Barrys
neck,
and
the
big
dog
carried
him
to
safety.
Today,
dogs
are
stil
kept
at
the

where
Barry
worked.
And
at

always
named
Barry.
When
Meriwether
Lewis
and
Wiliam
Clark
set
out
to
explore
the
American
West
in
1804,
they
brought
along
Lewiss
dog,
Seaman.
One
night,
a
big
buffalo
broke
into
the
campground.
As
the
scared
animal
ran
to
the
tent
where
the
explorers
were
sleeping,
Seaman
threw
himself
in
the
buffalos
path
and
drove
it

Forever
thankful,
Lewis
named
a

“Seamans

Newton

that

a
year
before
he
could
bring
himself
to
write
out
the
work
again.
What
caused
the
fire?
No
one

Many
years
after
Newtons
death,
a
book
about
Newtons
life
said
that
the
fire
started
when
Newtons

turned
over
a
