教学目标
1.能听懂、会说并认读词汇:festival,important,call,relative, red packet,firework。
2.能够理解并在语境中正确运用本单元的核心句型:The Spring Festival comes in January or February. They often eat fish and dumplings. They like the beautiful firworks very much.
3.能用所学句型针对节日活动进行问答。
4.让学生了解中国的春节和西方国家的圣诞节,感受中西方文化差异,学会沟通,增进理解,提高跨文化交际的意识。

1.综合运用所学句型介绍中国的传统节日和节日风俗。

教学过程
1、 Pre-task preparations
1. Sing a song “Happy New Year”.
2. Lead in the subject “festival” .
T: Do you like the song, What is it about?
Ss: It’s about the festival.
3. Read Chinese poems, Guess Chinese festivals.
T: Boys and girls, read the Chinese poems together, then guess What
festival it is.
Ss: 爆竹声中一岁除,春风送暖入屠苏。
千门万户瞳瞳日,总把新桃换旧符。
T: What festival is it?
Ss: It’s the Spring Festival.
(The same way to learn “the Mid-Autumn, the Double Ninth Festival”)
2、 While-task procedures.
1. Listen and find.
When is the Spring Festival?
What do people usually eat at the Spring Festival?
What do people do at the Spring Festival?
Students learn the whole passage with the three questions.
2. Look and learn.

②New Year’s Eve

T: In Chinese, “fish” sounds like “surplus”(余). Chinese people
always like to have a surplus at the end of the year, because they
think if they can save something at the end of the year, then they
can make more next year.
It means 年年有余 .It’s Chinese traditional culture.
④dumplings
T: Chinese dumplings look like silver ingots(银元宝). People think
that if you eat more dumplings during the Spring Festival, then you
can make more money in the new year.
It means 招财进宝、喜庆团圆、吉祥如意。

T: Do you have some red packets?
Ss: Yes, I have some red packets at the Spring Festival.

In the group, each of the student choose one card , then complete the
information.
