Hi, I'm Steven. I'm from the USA. When I started primary school, my dad had a plan for me to study Chinese. He always told me, "Remember, there is a much bigger world out there; you should broaden (拓宽) your horizons (眼界)." He believed that studying a foreign language (外语) was the best way to do this, so he wanted me to take an after-school Chinese class.
I began studying Chinese because of my dad. But the more I learned, the more interesting I found it. By understanding different cultures better, I started to dream bigger as a child. My dad's idea showed me a bigger world and taught me Confucius's wisdom (孔子的智慧): "Isn't it a pleasure (乐事) to study and practice what you have learned?"

38. An Unforgettable Talk
Having a talk is a good way to solve problems. I have an unforgettable talk with my father.
I feel very sad because I lost a beautiful watch. It's a gift from my best friend. When my father knows about it, he talks with me. He says losing the watch doesn't matter to me, but I should be careful and learn to protect my things. After the talk, I feel better. I say sorry to my friend and put my things away.
We can always turn to our family for help.
