To talk about what aspects we should consider when we introduce a place. 2. To create a poster to introduce the traditions of a country/ city/ village. 教学重难点 教学重点： 1. To identify the features of a poster. 2. To create a poster to introduce the traditions of a country/ city/ village. 教学难点： 1. To know the basic elements of a poster。 2. To cooperate in groups and create a poster。 教学过程 教学环节：图片导入，激活话题 Step1 Warming up Teacher shows students some pictures and ask them to express their opinions about the following questions. Q1:What are the pictures about? S: Picture1 shows a little girl dressed in her festival clothing and picture 2 shows a kind of food, which is called Taco-corn pancake. Q2:Which country is it? S: Mexico Q3:How do you know that? S: Picture 1 shows the festival clothing of the day of the dead and picture 2 shows the iconic food unique to Mexico. 设计意图：通过描述图片中的内容引出本节课的话题，激活学生的相关背景知识。 核心素养提升点: 思维品质：通过观察图片获取信息，提出自己的观点和看法，培养学生观察理解和分析判断的能力. 教学环节：文本理解，感知内化 Step 2 Preparing for the project Activity 1: Teacher invite students to observe the poster on Page 47 and conclude the basic elements of making a poster by discussing and presenting answers to the following questions : Q1: According to the poster, what aspects of Mexican traditions are introduced? A: Festivals, food and drink, dances, music, clothing / items, activities. Q2: Why do you think those aspects are important? A: Because the items represent the characteristics of Mexico. Activity 2: Teacher ask students to read the poster carefully and analyze the three important elements of making a poster. 1. the style of design A poster should have at least three parts, title, pictures and descriptions. 2. the content When we introduce the traditions of a plce, we should include aspects such as festivals, food and drink, dances, music, clothing and celebrations. 3. the steps of making a poster Step 1, students should choose a focused topic. Step 2, students cooperate with group members and search informative aspects, including an impressive title, attractive pictures and vivid descriptions. Step 3, work in groups and design eye-catching layout. 设计意图：通过解读海报的内容来总结海报特点，引导学生解读多模态语篇所传达的信息，并完成相关信息的概括。 核心素养提升点: 学习能力：根据问题链激活话题，提取概括信息,了解海报的设计特点和制作过程。 教学环节：知识应用，迁移创新 Step 3 Creating the project Activity 1: Teacher demonstrate the procedure of making a poster to intrduce China. Step 1, the topic is the traditions of China. Step 2, search information and list them. Festivals: Spring Festival; Dragon Boat Festival … dances and music: dragon dance and folk music… Food: dumplings; rice… Clothing: minority costumes… Celebrations: temple fairs… Step 3, add pictures and design eye-catching layout. Activity 2: Teacher encourage students to introduce the traditions of their local culture and divide the work among group members. Q: What work is involved to make a good poster? According to the procedure summarized in the former part, students are required to sort out the materials, divide the work among group members and jointly complete the draft of the poster. 设计意图：通过了解海报的特点和制作过程，实现知识输入，通过团队合作制作海报，提升筛选信息和写作输出的能力。 核心素养提升点: 文化意识: 通过制作关于传统文化的海报，唤起学生的文化自信和文化保护意识。 教学环节：语言运用 Step 4 Presenting the project Teacher invite some groups to present their projects while the others record and evaluate the presentations according to the chart on Page 47 and vote for the best one.
