Who when what how 五、强调状语从句 ① 原因状从： I came home late because it was raining hard. ② 时间状从：It is/was not until + 被强调部分 + that + 其它部分： He didn’t go to bed until his wife came back. It was because it was raining hard that I came home late. It was not until his wife came back that he went to bed. I didn’t go to bed until my mother came back. The teacher didn’t stop his lesson until the bell rang. The boy didn’t begin to do his homework until his father came. 六、练习：It is/was+not until+被强调的部分+that+其他部分 It was not until my mother came back that I went to bed. It was not until the bell rang that the teacher stopped his lesson. It was not until his father came that the boy began to do his homework. 注意：not until 不可分开；由于not已经前移，that 后的部分只能用肯定形式 Exercise 1.
