教学设计 课程基本信息 学科 英语 年级 高三 学期 秋季 课题 Unit 4 Everyday economics (Developing ideas) 教学目标 At the end of this class, students should be able to: 1. understand the meaning of the title and analyze the structure of the passage; 2. summarize the benefits and problems of the sharing economy and share their own opinions; 3. state the feature of a two-sided argumentative essay and try to apply it to their own writing. 教学重难点 教学重点： 1. Lead students to analyze the structure of the passage; 2. Help students to summarize the benefits and problems of the sharing economy. 教学难点： 1. To make sure students have a good command of the way to summarize the benefits and problems of the sharing economy; 2. To get students familiar with the feature of a two-sided argumentative essay. 教学过程 Ⅰ Pre-reading activity Task: Prediction Look at the title of the passage and let students talk about their understanding of it. Ⅱ While-reading activity Step 1: 1st reading Tasks: 1. Check previous understanding. 2. What is the topic of the passage? 3. What’s the relationship between the title and the topic? Step 2: 2nd reading Task 1: (1) Match the paragraphs to their functions a. To highlight the key benefits of the sharing economy. b. To explain and elaborate on the sharing economy. c. To lead the topic from sharing in childhood to sharing in economic activities. d. To illustrate various drawbacks of the sharing economy. e. To predict the future of the sharing economy. (2) Analyze the structure of the passage (3) State the genre of the passage Task 2: (1) Read through the passage and answer the questions. How does the author introduce the topic? What information can we get about the topic? What benefits and drawbacks are mentioned? What’s the author’s attitude towards the sharing economy? (2) Critical thinking Have a good understanding of the feature of a two-sided argumentative essay Think & share: What do you think are other benefits and problems of the sharing economy? How could we address the potential problems? Ⅲ Post-reading activity Task: interview & share Think about what will happen in the next 20 years as the world’s economy becomes ever more global and digital. Consider the following: What will people be sharing next? How will they be sharing these things? What benefits will people get from sharing these things?
