Reading and Thinking（课文词汇教学设计） I. Learning objectives At the end of the class, students are expected to: 1. Acquire and apply new vocabulary related to smart homes and development of technology; 2. Master useful ways to learn new vocabulary; 3. Analyzing possible scenarios critically to develop creative thinking ability; 4. Cultivate a deeper understanding of smart future and think about how to create a smart future. II. Analysis of the material The text introduces different functions of smart homes in future life scenarios, showing the solutions that smart homes can provide to various problems or needs. Students can feel the convenience brought by technological development to life, and think about what they can do to enhance the spread of smart homes. It includes many vocabulary related to smart homes and technological development. Students can accumulate vocabulary related to related topics and improve their language expression ability. III. Analysis of students Students have completed fundamental English courses and possess a basic command of English grammar and common vocabulary. They show enthusiasm for discussing about future but may lack specialized vocabulary related to technology and societal progression. There is a clear need to expand their vocabulary to support comprehension and expression in discussing complex future scenarios. IV. Teaching key and difficult points Teaching key points: 1. This lesson has basically achieved the learning objectives, and students are able to learn and use the vocabulary under the teacher’s guidance, and develop a creative thinking ability. 2. The classroom atmosphere is harmonious.
