B Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT), created by OpenAI and research company, is a natural language processing tool driven by AI technology that allows you to have human-like conversations and much more with a chatbot. The language model can answer questions, and assist you with tasks such as composing essays or medical application. For the past few decades, many of us have relied on “Doctor Google” to self-diagnose aches, pains and complaints. The arrival of AI has brought a much more powerful tool to assist with medical diagnoses-ChatGPT-4. This is the next-generation version of the chatbot ChatGPT, which was uncovered only four months ago. Doctors believe the new AI will reform their work and improve the lives of their patients. Three artificial intelligence experts have written an e-book titled: “The Al Revolution in Medicine”. In it, they say ChatGPT-4 will provide surgeons with critical, life-saving advice and information in real time. The authors say: “We need to start understanding and discussing Al’s potential.” The new c-book says ChatGPT-4 will become invaluable to medical doctors. It suggests the chabot will be the same of having “a sympathetic mentor-servant (导师) with access to nearly all the world’s medical knowledge” at your disposal. The authors said that: “In almost any way you can name, from diagnosis to medical records to clinical trials, its impact will be broad and deep.” However, they also acknowledge that AI is not yet a cure-all for all medical difficulty. The authors said ChatGPT-4 can make “fine inaccuracies in otherwise sound medical advice”. They added that AI still gives “wrong answers that almost always look right”. Therefore, they warned against using AI without human direction. ChatGPT is an advanced chatbot that has the potential to make people’s lives easier and to assist with everyday tiring tasks, such as writing an email, having to navigate the web for answers or medical care. However, there are certain technical details that have to be figured out before it’s widely used, to prevent negative outcomes such as the spread of misinformation. In general, this AI model relies on lots of training and fine-tuning to reach a level of ideal performance. 4. What can we infer from Paragraph One? A. ChatGPT enjoys popularity. B. Why ChatGPT is impressive. C. ChatGPT is an AI tool of conversation. D. Two companies developed ChatGPT. 5. What does the underlined word “complaints” in Paragraph 2 refer to? A. Wellness. B. Illness. C. Consciousness. D. Mood. 6. What is a shortcoming of ChatGPT? A. Poor quality. B. Out of order. C. Frequent breakdown. D. Low accuracy. 7. What is the writer’s attitude towards ChatGPT? A. Objective. B. Approving. C. Critical. D. Negative. C It was the men’s skating finals of the Winter Olympics when I was 16. Someday I’d be in the Olympics. In fact, it was my dream. That night I lay on our living room floor excitedly watching the battle between the Brians: American Brian Boitano facing Brian Orser in Canada. Both of them had been world champions. Both of them deserved to win. Naturally I was for Brian Boitano, a northern Californian like me. We had skated on the same ice. I held my breath in amazement. Boitano performed successfully. The gold medal! I jumped in the air when his score went up. But what happened next is what I’ll never forget. Brian Boitano sat in front of the camera with his coach, surrounded by a group of journalists. He was talking about his career and his medal, talking to the whole world. A terrible sinking feeling went through me. I could never be in the Olympics, I thought. I could not talk in public like that. Just the idea of a press conference terrified me. I loved skating partly because I didn’t have to talk. I could express myself with my jumps and dances better. I didn’t have to stand up and give a speech like some teachers expected. I could feel the blood rush to my face if I thought a teacher was going to call me. I stared at my shoes. I was sure I’d make a fool of myself. The next day I was at the rink (溜冰场)as usual. I was practising a combination of jumps that had once seemed impossible. I worked very hard the next few years — on the ice and especially off. After journalists talked to me and although my heart pounded every time I spoke to them, I got to know them. They became familiar faces. And they got to know me. So when my big moment came four years after Brians, I was ready. Sometimes I think my biggest accomplishment was not winning the gold but talking to the press afterwards. When you do the thing you fear most, you put an end to fear. Fear can stop you dead in your tracks. Fear can kill a dream. What are you afraid of? What scares you more than anything else? This year, walk right up to it and conquer it, step by step. 8. What information can we get from the second paragraph? A. The author lived a hard life. B. The author comes from Canada. C. The author once skated with Orser. D. The author wished Boitano to win the match 9. What is one of the reasons why the author liked skating according to the passage? A. She could build up her body to be healthier. B. It could help her to get closer to her idol. C. She could better express herself with body language. D. The possibility of her being a world champion was great. 10. What the author felt the most satisfied with is that ____. A. she lived up to her coaches expectations B she became a world champion as planned C. she managed to overcome her inner fear eventually D. she handled the balance between her career and life 11. What does the author mainly want to tell us? A. Face a fear bravely. B. Practice makes perfect. C Bad times make a good man. D. Failure is the mother of success. D As you are growing and changing, you have more responsibilities and also more freedom to spend time with other people. While you may feel ready to make your own decisions about where and when to go, your parents will put limits on you. So you may find you are arguing with your parents more than you used to. The reason why your parents do this is that they care about you and want to protect you from danger. Here are some tips for how to avoid and handle arguments with your parents: (1)Discuss the rules ahead of time and not at the last minute. This way you will be able to learn their opinions before you make plans. Your parents can also explain to you why each rule is in place. Ask them to give you the chance to explain how the rules make you feel and suggest what you think are right rules. Your parents may be willing to listen to your ideas and use them when making rules that you both agree on. (2)Try to remain calm when your parents say no to something. You will show your parents that you are responsible and mature(成熟的) by talking instead of shouting. (3)Spend time with your family. Some teens argue with their parents over the amount of time they spend with their friends. Communicate with each other and make some special family time so that you can all enjoy the time you spend at home. Suggest activities that your whole family will enjoy together such as going on a hike, taking a bike ride, or going to the beach. 12. Your parents limit your activity mainly because they . A. are worried about your safety B. are afraid it will affect your study C. think the thing you’ll do is bad D. want you to be with them at home 13. We can learn from the passage that the right rules are those . A. you have to obey B. you and your parents have discussed C. your parents make D. you and your parents can both accept 14. When your parents prevent you from doing something, you should . A. argue with them B. control yourself C. fight for your freedom D. not listen to them 15. What’s the purpose of the family activities in the last paragraph? A. To build up their bodies. B. To visit more places of interest. C. To make parents happy. D. To make children and their parents get along better. You might be willing to help others who are going through a hard time. Although her singing was pleasant to hear, lacking of courage, she never sings in front of strangers. One summer, the neighborhood would hold a singing competition. Her best friend, Lucy, came to invite her to participate in the competition, but Emily said, “I’m afraid to take part in it.” Her mother said, “It’s okay; just do it bravely.” Emily followed her mom’s ad vice and decided to have a try. The day came. Emily and Lucy went to the competition site. But she was too timid (胆小的) to walk onto the stage. She had been waiting until others finished singing. She shakily forced herself to stand on the stage. She started to sing, but her voice was so low. What’s worse, she was so nervous that she forgot the lyrics (歌词) after singing a few words. Being laughed at by others, embarrassed and shy, she ran away from the stage. Some boys ran after her and said, “Emily, coward (胆小鬼)! Emily, coward!” Emily didn’t argue with them. What she wanted was to go back home as quickly as she could. Finally, she rushed into the house, hugged her mom and cried sadly. “Well, my poor girl, don’t cry. Tell me what happened to you,” asked her mom. Emily told her mother what she had experienced. Listening to her, her mom cupped her face and said, “It doesn’t matter, girl. As long as you practice singing more in front of strangers, you will become braver little by little. So, my girl, don’t be beaten by a failure. You can go out to practice singing every day. A. A she lived up to her coaches expectations B. she became a world champion as planned C. she managed to overcome her inner fear eventually D. she handled the balance between her career and life 11. What does the author mainly want to tell us? A. Face a fear bravely. B. Practice makes perfect. C. Bad times make a good man. D. Failure is the mother of success. 【答案】8. D 9. C 10. C 11. 根据第四段中“I loved skating partly because I didn’t have to talk. I could express myself with my jumps and dances better. I didn’t have to stand up and give a speech like some teachers expected. 根据文章倒数第二段中“I worked very hard the next few years — on the ice and especially off. 根据文章第一段“It was the men’s skating finals of the Winter Olympics when I was 16. Someday I’d be in the Olympics. In fact, it was my dream. Fear can kill a dream. What are you afraid of? What scares you more than anything else? This year, walk right up to it and conquer it, step by step. (恐惧会让你止步不前。恐惧可以扼杀梦想。你在怕什么?你最害怕的是什么?今年,直接走向它,一步一步地征服它。) ”可知,作者通过自身经历告诉我们要勇敢地面对恐惧、战胜恐惧。故选A项。 D As you are growing and changing, you have more responsibilities and also more freedom to spend time with other people. Hearing her beautiful voice, some stopped to listen to her singing and clapped for her. A grandma smiled to her and said, “Oh, little girl, your voice is really beautiful!” Encouraged by the words, Emily felt pleased and could sing confidently in front of strangers. In the second year singing competition, Emily walked onto the stage bravely, and her loud and beautiful voice of singing moved all the people, including those who had laughed at her. Her mother was delighted to see the timid girl became a brave one. 词汇激活 行为类 ①嘲笑:laugh at/make fun of ②忽视:ignore/neglect ③鼓掌:walk/step 情绪类 ①自信地:confidently/with confidence ②高兴的:pleased/glad/delighted ③沮丧的:depressed/frustrated 【点睛】[高分句型1] Months later, she could sing as she was walking(运用了as引导的时间状语从句) [高分句型2] Encouraged by the words, Emily felt pleased and could sing confidently in front of strangers.(过去分词Encouraged充当原因状语) 听力答案:1-20CAAAAACABBBAAACBABCC 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
