N-D-F-C-T-O-I-E-T 2. The teacher asks the students to act the following actions and discuss which are confident. 3. The teacher makes comments on the students’ answers and guides them to classify confident actions. 【Aim】Give more tips: adj, personality. Demonstrate one action. Help the students to learn how to classify. Step 2: Listening (30 minutes) Dialogue A Read the questions (on students’ text books) Listen to the dialogue for one time & Finish the exercises of 1. For better students: Finish exercise 2 at the same time. Check answers. Underline the key sentence structures Mike: Wow! You delivered an amazing speech in class today! Li Mei: Thank you! I have devoted all my spare time to the speech recently. Mike: Your speech is quite informative , how did you prepare for it? Li Mei: I went to the library to search related information. Mike: And you look so confident and natural on the stage as well! Li Mei: One of my hobbies is watching TED in my spare time and I practiced many times before going to the stage. Mike: No pains, no gains. Right? Li Mei: Indeed. My idol is Steve Jobs. He is an excellent speaker. I have learnt a lot from him. Mike: You know what, I think I need to learn from you 【Aim】Make sure students understand all the questions.Play the audio for twice.Explain how to use these key sentences.Set situations and guide the students to use the sentence structures. Dialogue B 1.Read the words about personality (on the students’ text books) 2.Listen to the dialogue& write down the words for Li Mei and Mike. 3.Listen again and mark the sentences to describe personality. 4.Check answers 5.Attack the key sentence structures 1.How do you describe yourself, Mike? 2.Well, I think I’m outgoing and energetic. I do well in computer and I’m crazy about electronic music. Why would you ask me that? What’s the matter? You don’t seem happy. 3. you’re always positive. 4.You are excellent as well. 5.You are hard-working and determined, and also willing to communicate with others. 【Aim】Make sure the students know all the words.Play the audio twice.Ask the students to check answers. Explain when necessary. Step 3: Speaking (40 minutes) Ask the students to read aloud three different situations. Situation 1: You are looking for a part-time job. Before you go to the job interview, you ask your classmates what impression you leave on them. Situation 2: You are having a job interview with the manager. The manager is asking what you are good at. Situation 3: You got the part-time job! And you are telling the good new to your friends! You: I made it! I can’t believe it! Explain some key words and phrases. Ask the students to read the dialogue with their partners. Role play. Pronunciation and correction. 【Aim】Set situations and guide the students to use the sentence structures.Group the students.Give the students three minutes to read the situations.Show the students some key words.Give a demonstration. Step 4: Summary & Homework (5 minutes) Summarize the key points with a mind map and assign the homework. Make a short video of a dialogue. Sort our notes with a mind map. Preview the reading: watch the micro course and learn how to skim and scan passages. 【Aim】Correct the mistakes of pronunciation and dialogue.
