Section B 2a-2e 教学目标 According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, and after studying the teaching material, I think the teaching aims are the followings: (1)Language Ability. Around "basketball", students be able to comprehend the effect of this article and to equip themselves with the introduction, development and popularity of basketball. Master words like: the Olympics, Canadian, divide, divide…into, basket, popularity, look up to, hero, professional and son on, and the sentence structures: 1. It is believed that the first basketball game in history was played on December 21, 1891. 2. Dr. Naismith divided the men in his class into two teams and taught them to play his new game. 3. At the same time, they need to stop the competing team from getting the ball into their own basket. 4. These stars encourage young people to work hard to achieve their dreams. (2) Learning Ability. By finishing the tasks, students can summarize reading strategies, and accept the learning strategy of mind-map; learn to write a summary to enhance the students' comprehensive skills. Greet students T: Hello, boys and girls. S: Hello, teacher. T: Today we are going to learn Unit6 when was it invented? SectionB 2a-2e. 2. Warm-up Imagine the teacher was the host of a TV show “the Great Invention” and lead students into a live scene. Ask students to watch a video and speak out the invention. S: It’s basketball. T: Yes, it is the basketball. (Purpose of my design: (1) Lead in the topic and catch Ss’ attention about the topic; (2) Create a real situation to help students get into the class in a short time.) Step Ⅱ Pre-reading 1. Ask students three questions to cultivate their interests and then lead them to read some information the basketball players said. T: Do you like basketball? S: Yes, most of us will say yes. T: Do you watch basketball games? S: Yes, i just watched a game last night. T: How much do you know about this sport? S: Yep, it is an exciting game and many people love and play it. T: Maybe you dream you will be a basketball star in future. 2. Show the students the chat content among the Chinese Women’s National Basketball Team. Complete the mind map in groups and then try to retell what they said according to the mind map and questions. My reasons are as follows: Firstly, the teaching aims were quite clear. All the activities were focused on the theme “reading strategies” and were developed to reach the teaching goal--“Enable the students to master the ways of extensive reading and read in details. Secondly, in this lesson I designed different activities to arouse the students’ interests of learning English. The students were eager to speak and use English in class. In addition, I think, the most shinning point of this lesson is--making a mind-map and introducing it to others. It is a new way for students to practice their spoken English. The students became more interested and more active in thinking and using. Last but not the least.
