There are more than 50 billion honeybees flying around our farms and neighborhoods every summer. We take care of them so that they can take care of us by helping many of our crops grow.
But honeybees aren’t the only bees in town.
People from England brought the first honeybees to North America in 1622. But those European honeybees arrived to a land that was already filled with wild bees, more than 4,000 kinds of them. Some of those wild bee kinds are bumblebees (大黄蜂). Bumblebees are probably our most famous wild bees, and they are the same as honeybees in many ways. They live in groups and they are active all summer long. But most wild bees are pretty different. Many of them live their lives alone. In these kinds, each female is a hardworking single mom who builds her own nest, usually in a wood tunnel or underground cave, lays her own eggs, and works alone to feed her babies.
More than 80% of all plant kinds depend on animals to move their pollen (花粉) from flower to flower. This way, called pollination, is how these plants grow.
All kinds of animals play an important role in pollination: butterflies, moths, flies, ants, even birds and bats, but bees are the best pollinators out there.
And while honeybees get most of the attention, wild bees can be just as useful, sometimes even more so.
Some of these relationships have developed over millions of years, and the survival of each partner depends on the other.
22.What is Paragraph One mainly about?
A.Honeybees are everywhere in the U. S. all year round.
B.The farmers in the U. S. are bored with too many honeybees.
C.Honeybees are useless to the farmers in the U. S.
D.Lots of honeybees in the U. S. help with the crops’ growth.
23.What does the underlined word “they” refer to?
A.European honeybees. B.American bumblebees.
C.American honeybees. D.European wild bees.
24.Which animal can help move the pollen most?
A.Butterflies B.Bats. C.Bees. D.Moths.
25.From the passage, we know that ________.
A.bees are active all summer long
B.the first honeybees were from North America
C.male wild bees are the most hardworking
D.most plant kinds move their pollen on their own

As we all know, animals are important in our daily life. For example, dogs can be good helpers to human. What about monkeys? 26 Yes. They can do a great job, too. Monkeys can help disabled people live a better life just as dogs do.
27 One difference is that monkeys live longer than dogs do. This means that a monkey’s “childhood” is also longer than a dog’s. So it may take them four to six years before they are ready to begin training. It’s said that it is almost as much work as raising a young child!
After monkeys begin training, they usually take about a year to learn enough tasks’ to be good helpers. 28 For example, if a person wants to have the lights turned on, he or she may give the order “sun”. 29 The monkey will know what its owner wants when it hears these orders, and it will complete the tasks.
As the monkeys get better at completing their tasks, they learn new and more difficult ones. 30
Can you imagine that in the future some disabled people keep monkeys as their pets and at the same time the moneys can help them to make their life easier?
A.Some monkeys can even learn how to use a computer!
B.Monkeys can play with people when they are free.
C.Can they also help human?
D.One important thing that they need to learn is how to follow orders.
E.If the owner has dropped something, he or she might say “fetch”.
F.Likes dogs, monkeys need lots of training to be human helpers.
G.Unlike dogs, monkeys don’t need lots of training to be human helpers.

“Were the birds on the ice ducks or geese (鹅)?” Cruz, 11, and Anthony, 12, couldn’t agree. There was only one way to find out. So on a cold January evening, the two friends took a risk onto the frozen lake near their homes.
“First, we threw a stone onto the ice to test it. We thought it would hold our weight. Then we stepped on it,” Cruz said. Anthony went first. He took a few steps, then... He fell through the seemingly frozen ice!
Cruz rushed to help his friend. The lake “ate” him, too. Cruz managed to lift himself out of the freezing water and onto some ice. He then tried to work his way toward Anthony. But the ice didn’t hold, and he fell in again. This time, he couldn’t get out.
The boys were up to their necks in icy water and quickly losing feeling in their arms and legs. Cruz had a sense that he was going to die.
Anthony’s older sister had seen all this and started shouting for help. John Lavin, a neighbor driving nearby, heard her. He quickly pulled over. He caught a nearby float (浮板), kicked off his shoes. and ran into the water, clearing his way through the ice with his free hand. “It was kind of a ‘Hulk smash’.” Lavin later joked.
Lavin made his way to pull the boys back to land. They were taken to the hospital immediately. The doctor said their five-minute stay in the water made their body temperature drop nearly ten degrees. Luckily, the boys got well soon. They admire their fearless neighbor just as Hulk, one of the Marvel Superheroes.
54.In which season did the story happen?
55.Why did Cruz and Anthony walk onto the frozen lake?
56.Would you take a risk when you try to find out the truth? Why or why not?

C.Honeybees are useless to the farmers in the U. S.

A.European honeybees. B.American bumblebees.
C.American honeybees. D.European wild bees.

C.male wild bees are the most hardworking
D.most plant kinds move their pollen on their own

第六部分 阅读表达(共3小题;1题2分,2题2分,3题3分,满分7分)
请认真阅读下面短文,用英语回答短文后的问题。
