1. 能听懂、会读、会说单词:e-book, mobile phone, newspaper, radio, telephone, TV
2. 能用句型“... years ago, ... Now, ...”谈论迈克一家人过去和现在学习、工作、生活等方面的变化,对比一般过去时与一般现在时的用法。
3.能理解课文内容,准确朗读并尝试复述课文。

1. 难点: 能理解并区分一般过去时和一般现在时的用法。
2. 易错点: telephone, mobile phone等单词的读音及can, write, use, read, make, buy等动词过去式的发音。

Activity One
Step 1 Learn the new words
学习要求:1.看课本P36-37,自读单词两遍;2.S读给T听。
T:Before class, let’s enjoy a video and think: What does it talk about?
T: Today we’ll learn Unit 4 Then and now. Here are some things about “Then and now”.
教师引导学生分音节读单词:tele-phone, news-paper, mo-bile phone
T: First read the words by yourselves, then check.
【设计意图】通过观看视频,让学生初步感知过去和现在的变化,引出本课的生词。通过分音节让学生尝试拼读单词,并在“What’s missing?”的游戏中得以巩固。
Step 2 Listen and choose
T: Time flies, our life changes a lot. Who has changed in the story? And can you find the time? Let’s scan the story and find the answer.
T: This time, let’s focus on Mike’s changes. Listen and choose the right answer. Then talk in pairs.
学习要求:1.听课文录音第一段,选择答案。2.说给学伴听。
T: Guess: What else can Mike do now?
【设计意图】通过听录音,让学生捕捉信息,用could和can对Mike过去和现在能做的事情进行表达。并让学生猜一猜、说一说Mike现在还能做哪些事,实现教材的前后关联。
Activity Two Read and find
学习要求:1.读课本P36-37第二至四段两遍。
2. 选择方框中合适的单词完成表格。
3. 仿照范例介绍迈克一家人过去和现在的生活。
4. TS互说。
T:Just now, we talked about Mike’s changes. What about his families? Let’s read picture 2-4, choose the words to complete the table. Then talk in pairs like this.
Model: Six years ago, Mike could read and draw, but he could not write. Now, he can do many things.
【设计意图】通过让学生读,梳理Mike家人前后变化的信息,并结合所给范例进行表达,以达到理解文本的目的。在此过程中,将一般过去时和一般现在时进行对比,让学生感知它们不同的用法,并渗透不规则动词过去式:can-could, write-wrote, use-used, read-read, make-made, buy-bought。
Activity Three
Step 1 Watch and read
学习要求:看课文动画轻轻跟读模仿哦!
T: It’s reading time now. Let’s watch the video and follow it softly.
Step 2 Try to retell
学习要求:1.完成课本P38练习。2. TS一起复述迈克一家人过去和现在的变化。
T: I think you can read well now. Open your books to page 38, finish it then try to retell the story according to it.
Model: Six years ago, Mike ... Now, he ...
【设计意图】结合课本后的练习,让学生在朗读的基础上整体梳理人物前后的变化,并进行复述,实现文本的再现。
Summary
T: All of you did a good job. Let’s summarize.
1.我能读课本P36-37的单词。
2.我能借助P38的知识框架,复述迈克一家人过去和现在的生活变化。
