第七节 写作
01示例:
Dear Tom,
Hello! I'm very well. Thank you for your concern. I've heard about your situation and I really feel for you. Regarding the new professional course that you find difficult to understand, don't be too worried. You are a smart and hardworking person. I believe that if you keep trying, you will definitely figure it out. You can actively ask your teachers for explanations when you don't understand. Also, you can discuss with your classmates. They might have different perspectives and methods that could help you. Moreover, after class, you can spend some time reviewing and doing more practice problems to strengthen your understanding.
As for your concern about not having enough time to rest and your deteriorating health, this is indeed a serious issue. But don't lose heart. You are strong and capable of making changes. You could try making a detailed schedule. Allocate specific times for study, rest, and relaxation. For example, take short breaks every hour or so during study. Stretch your body, look out of the window to relax your eyes. You can also do some simple exercises like walking around or doing a few minutes of light stretching. This will help you refresh and be more efficient in your studies. I truly hope that you can improve your current situation soon. Remember, you are not alone. I am always here to support you.
Best regards,
Li Hua

Passage A
Billiards(台球) is a _____________(闻名的) indoor sport around the world. It has a unique allure(魅力) that has made it popular among people of all ages.
The origin(起源) of billiards can be traced back to 15th - century Europe. In the beginning, it was a simple ball game played outdoors on the ground. People used to play with basic balls and simple rules. As time passed, the game evolved(逐渐演变). It gradually moved indoors and became more refined. By the 19th century, billiards had developed a rather sophisticated(相当复杂的) competition system and started to spread across different regions(地区).
Snooker is a fascinating form of billiards. It is played on a large, green - covered billiards table. In Snooker, there are 15 red balls, each of which is worth 1 point. These red balls are the most numerous(数量) on the table and play a crucial(至关重要的) role in the game. There are also 6 colored balls. The yellow ball is worth 2 points. It is a bright and eye - catching ball on the table. The green ball, which is worth 3 points, stands out with its unique color. The brown ball, worth 4 points, is also an important part of the game. The blue ball, being worth 5 points, often requires a high level of skill to pocket. The pink ball, with a value of 6 points, is another significant target. And the black ball is the most valuable, worth 7 points. It is usually the key to getting a high score. There is also a white cue ball that players use to strike the other balls.
The rules of Snooker are quite interesting. Players start by aiming at a red ball. When a red ball is successfully pocketed, they can then choose to aim at a colored ball. After pocketing a colored ball, they must go back to aiming at a red ball again. This alternating pattern continues throughout the game. However, there are strict rules about fouls. For example, if a player fails to hit the correct ball first, or if they accidentally hit the cue ball into a pocket, they will be penalized. The penalty points are usually related to the value of the ball that should have been hit or a certain number of points depending on the type of foul.
In China, Ding Junhui is a remarkable figure(杰出的人物) in the billiards world. Ding Junhui was born on April 1, 1987, in Yixing, Jiangsu province. He was introduced to billiards at the age of 8. Since then, he has shown an extraordinary passion(非凡的热情) and talent for the sport.
When he was 13 years old, he participated in the Asian Invitational Tournament(赛事). In this tournament, he demonstrated(证明;展现) his great potential(潜力) by winning the third place. This achievement not only brought him recognition(认可) in Asia but also marked the beginning of his journey on the international billiards stage.
Ding Junhui's career is filled with many highlights. In 2005, he participated in the UK Championship. This was a very important event in the billiards calendar. He showed remarkable(卓越的) skill and composure throughout(冷静的心态) the tournament. With his precise shot - making and excellent understanding of the game, he managed to win the championship. He became the first Asian player to win this prestigious tournament. This victory was a huge milestone for Asian billiards and inspired many young players in China and across Asia to take up the sport.
In 2011, he achieved another great feat by winning the Masters. This tournament is known for its high - level competition. Ding Junhui faced tough opponents but was able to emerge victorious. His success in these major tournaments has made him a household name in the world of billiards.
His playing style is characterized by his meticulous attention to detail. He has extremely precise shot - making skills, which means he can accurately hit the balls he aims at. His control over the cue ball is also outstanding. He can manipulate the cue ball's position on the table with great finesse, setting himself up for the next shot. Moreover, he is able to remain calm under pressure, which is a very important quality in high - level billiards competitions.

ChatGPT, a smart AI chat-bot (聊天机器人) tool, has swept the education world in the past months. According to a US survey of more than 1,000 students, over 89 percent of them have used ChatGPT to help with a homework assignment.
Developed by US company OpenAI, ChatGPT is a powerful tool. You can ask it to write stories and emails, create recipes(食谱), translate languages, and answer all kinds of questions.
Some schools in the US, Australia and France have banned (禁止) the use of ChatGPT. In the US, for example, New York City public schools banned students and teachers from using ChatGPT on the district’s networks and devices(设备).
The move comes out of worries that the tool could make it easier for students to cheat on assignments. Some also worry that ChatGPT could be used to spread inaccurate (不确定的) information.
“It does not build critical-thinking (批判性思维) and problem-solving skills, which are necessary for academic (学术的) and lifelong success,” said Jenna Lyle, the deputy press secretary of the New York City Department of Education.
Apart from bans, teachers are making changes to their classes to block the use of ChatGPT. Some college teachers in the US try to include more speaking exams and handwritten papers instead of typed ones.
However, not all educators say “no” to ChatGPT. Some Canadian universities are drafting (起草) policies on its use, for both students and teachers. They have no plans to completely ban the tool so far.
Bhaskar Vira, the headmaster at the University of Cambridge in the UK, said that bans on AI software like ChatGPT are not sensible (明智的). “We have to know that [AI] is a tool people will use,” he told Varsity, the school newspaper of the university. Passage D
When you eat something, your stomach breaks down its large molecules(分子) into smaller ones. Many people like to eat pineapples(菠萝). So when you eat pineapples, they can “eat” you by breaking down the molecules in your body. Pineapples have certain enzymes (酶) that can break down proteins (蛋白质). Many smaller molecules like the pearls(珍珠) come together to form the long pearl necklace of a protein. You can cut a necklace with scissors. In the same way, the enzymes in pineapples “cut up” proteins.
All living things have proteins. They are an important part of the cells (细胞) in your body. If an enzyme can break down a protein, it can break down cells as well. So will the cells of your tongue (舌头) when you eat pineapple. This is why your mouth will hurt if you eat too much pineapple.
But luckily, the cells in your tongue cure itself fast. And after you have swallowed the pineapple, the special enzymes will be broken down by your stomach. It won’t “eat” you any more.
Why does pineapple have these enzymes? Some scientists believe that they are created by the pineapple to prevent animals from eating its fruits before they are ripe (成熟的). Once the fruit is ripe, its enzymes won’t hurt an animal’s tongue and the fruit will be okay to eat.
Another reason is that the enzymes help the seed (种子) to grow up. They play an important role in sending messages to the cells of the plant. These messages tell the cells when to start and stop growing. Without these enzymes, the seed may not be able to properly develop.
16.In Paragraph 1, the enzymes in pineapples are compared to (被比作) ________.
A.scissors B.necklaces
C.proteins D.pearls
17.The underlined word “swallowed” in Paragraph 3 can be put in Sentence ________.

B.This kind of pill should be whole, with some warm water.
C.The blackboard should be by the students on duty before class.
D.The stars from behind the clouds, shining directly into my house.
18.According to the passage, what can be put in the blank “ ” to complete the following mind map?
A.When pineapple “beats” stomach
B.What the important body part is
C.Why pineapples have the enzymes
D.When people eat an pineapple
19.What can we infer (推论) from the passage?
A.Proteins are the most important role in body.
B.Some fruits have certain self-protection skills.
C.Pineapples are not healthy fruits.
D.Enzymes are harmful to pineapples.
20.What is the best title for the passage?
