Festival shows that Chinese New Year has ended. Your child’s homework is to make a different and

Passage 3
Almost everyone will have a teacher they don’t like at some point. Usually it’s not the end of
the world. Here are some tips to help you deal with your teacher and get through the school year
without too much trouble.
①Making the best of the situation
You may have heard rumors (谣言) about the teacher you will have next year, but try your best
not to let these stories influence your own opinion. If you go into it with an open mind, you’re much
more likely to get along with your teacher.
It’s important to learn how to deal with people you don’t like, so try to view this experience as
an important life lesson. Remember that you don’t have to like your teacher in order to learn from
him/her. As long as you are still doing well in the class, do your best to deal with your teacher.
If you think your teacher is being mean (刻薄的) to you, always be a polite student. You may
find that your good attitude will rub off on (感染) your teacher.
②Talking it out
If you’re really having a hard time learning because of your teacher’s teaching style, consider
having an open conversation with him/her about it, and see if he/she can help you learn better.
If other students in the class seem to be getting along with the teacher and doing well in the
class, talk to them. They may have some useful tips.
Let your parents know how you feel about your teacher, but he sure to explain exactly why you
feel that way. They may be able to offer you some good advice on how to deal with the situation.

Passage 4
When you are in your favourite clothing shop, everything is so cheap and fashionable (时尚的)
in your eyes! Even if you don’t need anything, you still leave the shop with bags of new clothes.
This doesn’t seem so bad. However, there are a lot of other costs behind the low price. It’s clear
that the fashion industry is terrible for the earth. It uses a lot of resources (资源 ) and pollutes the
environment with waste.
Fashion is one of the least sustainable (可持续的) industries. We’ve all become our own waste
managers, collecting fashion waste in our homes. It doesn’t just take up space but also ends up in
landfills (垃圾场 ). Three out of every five pieces of clothing are send to landfills. Luckily,
second-hand clothing is becoming popular. It’s cheaper. More and more people chose to buy
second-hand clothing. The value of the second-hand market may reach $80 billion (十亿) by 2029,
an increase of 185% compared to the value at present.
In fact, there is still an even better choice. It’s not to shop at all. Making full use of what you
have already had is the best choice of shopping.

2.Where will most of our clothing end up?
3.Why is second-hand clothing becoming popular?

What will our future be like? No one knows, but most people think that robots will be part of our
lives. Will they be friendly or unfriendly? So far, robots haven’t caused us any problems. They work
for us like servants all the time. They help us do dangerous and difficult work.
People are surprised at the rapid development of robots. In a few years, perhaps robots will think
on their own, just as people use their brains and act for themselves. However, once robots can think
