fixing things. He collected broken things which people threw away and fixed them.
He could fix almost everything that did not work. He worked hard and never gave up
Finally, he opened his own repair shop. It took him about 20 years to become a
successful shopkeeper
Now, he is very rich and has four shops. But he never forgets the days when he
had nothing. He gives money to poor families, helps poor kids buy books and offers

everything from the food you are in the morning to the clothes you wore at weekends
And it's a good thing, too--kids need this kind ef protection
But finally, kids grow up and become teens (青少年). And part of being a teen
is developing your own mind. But as you change and grow into this new person

most families, this kind of adjusting can cause a lot of fighting between teens and
parents. And problems like what kind of friends you can have or your idea of joining
in a party can cause bigger fights, because your parents still always want to
protect you and keep you safe, no matter how old you are. It can take several
years for parents and teens to adjust to their new roles (角 色), though. During the
time, try your best to communicate with your parents. Sometimes this can feel
impossible---lke they just don't see your opinion and never will. But talking and

It seems that the world is always trying to make you be like everyone else, so
one of the greatest tasks in your life is to be yourself
For research purposes, some scientists places five monkeys in a room, with a
ladder (梯子) in the middle and bananas on the top. Every time a monkey went up the
ladder. the scientists splashed (泼) the other monkeys with cold water. After a while
whenever a monkey tried to climb the ladder, the other monkeys would beat him up.
As time went by, no monkey would go up the ladder
Scientists then replaced (代 替 )one of the monkeys with a new monkey. As
expected, the new monkey tried to go up the ladder to get the bananas and the other
monkeys beat him up. After several times, this new member learnt not to climb the
ladder, though he never knew the real reason
Then, scientists replaced another old member with a second new monkey, and
the same thing happened again. The first new monkey also joined in beating the
second new monkey. If you asked any of the new monkeys why the beatings took
place, the answer would probably be: "I don't know. I guess that's how things are
going here."
If you keep doing things in the old way, you will never change the world. So try
to be different!
