Step2: Review and Fill T invites Ss to observe those words and pay attention to the colored part. Through observation, Ss are asked to infer the meaning of the affixes and fill in the form. In this process, Ss are guided to pay attention to the meanings, examples and functions of the affixes by some questions. Q1: What do “re-/dis-/micro-/trans-/ -ory/-ion/-ial/-ology” mean? Q2: Can you think of more words beginning with these prefixes/ suffixes? Q3: Do they change the meaning of the root word? Q4 Do they change the part of speech of the root word? Step3: Review and Practice T invited Ss to do more exercises to practice and acquire more word-learning strategies. 1. Make phrases by combining the words 2. Match the meaning of following underlined phrases. 3. Complete the sentences using the phrase from the box. 4. Replace the underlined parts with suitable words from the box. Step4: Read and Fill Read the passage about medical science and complete it using the words below Step5: Read and Draw T guided Ss to draw a mind map to help them have a better command of this passage by providing an example for them.
