Several questions are set to help students understand how Betty introduced her visit in Lao She Teahouse with the infinitives (plan, want, decide, offer, hope), and guide them to analyze how Betty expressed her feelings about the Beijing Opera with the stress. By doing so, students could summarize the checklist by themselves.
学情分析
Students in grade 8 have been in contact with infinitive, such as want to.hope to, but there are some difficulties in specific and flexible application. Therefore, the design of each link in this course is carried out to highlight key points and break through difficulties.

Step 1 Lead in
Students talk about their plans for the winter vacation by answering the following questions. After presenting, students evaluate their introductions according to the checklist.
1. What do you plan to do during the winter vacation?
2. Where do you want to go?
3. How do you decide to get there?
4. Who offers to take you there?
5. What do you hope to do?
Step 2 Language points

offer作动词,意为“提议;提出”,跟动词时用动词不定式作宾语。

1. in the end最后;终于
in the end意为“最后;终于”,相当于at last和finally,只表示时间概念。
At the end表示“在……的末端;在……的后期”,既可以指位置的末端,又可指时间后期
At the end of the road,you can see the hospital.
在路的尽头,你可以看到医院。
By the end 表示“到……末”,仅表示时间概念,常与完成时连用
