教学目标
1. 通过阅读,获取与整理Li Daiyu 和 Liu Qian 两姐妹自多伦多向蒙特利尔的旅游线路以及时间线等信息。
2. 掌握游记的基本构成要素,明确文本所传递的信息,完成对文本内容的概况。
3. 掌握电子邮件的写作形式,迁移运用所学知识,培养批判性思维和创新思维能力。
教学内容
教学重点:
1. 获取与整理Li Daiyu 和 Liu Qian 两姐妹自多伦多向蒙特利尔的旅游线路以及时间线等信息。
2. 掌握游记的写作特点、内容和语言特征,并应用到实际。
教学难点:
1. 根据语言输入以及搭建的框架,完成一封电子邮件。
教学过程
【Lead-in】
(1) T show pictures in Li Daiyu’s WeChat Moments and guide Ss to recall what Li Daiyu and her cousin saw, their activities and their feelings in the previous reading and thinking lesson.
(Justification: Present pictures in the form of WeChat Moments, and introduce topics by asking questions to stimulate students' learning thinking and fully mobilize students' enthusiasm.)
(2) Predict.
1) Ss predict the content of this passage
2) Ss tell where the passage possibly is taken from.
(Justification:To help Ss get a general idea of the reading text from the title and picture, while let them know the type of the passage to facilitate their following reading and writing activities.)
【Reading】
(1) Skimming: Ss find out Li Daiyu’s route and summarize the structure of the article and the general idea of each part.
(2) Scanning:
1) Ss read the text and complete two tables about Li Daiyu’s journey to Toronto and Montreal.
2) Ss answer the question about para10 to know details about part3.
(Justification: To help Ss get a clearer picture of the whole journey by finishing the tables and answer related questions from three aspects——what they saw, what they did and how they felt to prepare Ss for later writing task.)
【Pre-writing】
(1) Summarize the structure of a travel journal.
(2) Ss find out some excellent sentences that show what they saw, their activities and feelings.
(3) Ss try to imitate the sentence with descriptive language according to the picture.
(Justification: To activate Ss’ awareness of writing concerning structure and content step by step. Through writing practice activities, students can gradually clarify the writing task, understand the writing requirements, accumulate writing materials, practice the content learned in this class, and complete the writing task.)
【While-writing】
Ss email Li Daiyu back and share their trip with her!
【Post-writing】
Ss use the checklist to help assess their draft, and try to revise your draft according to it.
(Justification: To guide Ss to do assessment according the checklist.)
【Assignment】
1. Ss share their writing with their classmates and teacher to get more ideas from them.
2. Ss polish their first draft according to the checklist as well as your classmates' and teacher's feedback.
(Justification: To help Ss’ consolidate and apply what they have learned.)
