新素养·思维品质(2023·丹东中考) Students usually go to school in different
ways. In our school, most students get to school between 7:30 and 8:00 in the
morning. Some arrive on foot, and some take the bus. However, eighty percent of
the students arrive in their parents’ cars. The entrance(入口) to the school is
crowded and dangerous. I think cars are the main problem. I think there are a few
things we can do.

First, we should encourage students to take the bus or walk to school. Taking the
bus can help cut down air pollution. Walking is healthier, too. Next, what should
parents do if their children have to come to school by car? I think their parents should
park their cars far away from the school entrance. For example, they can park their
cars at the end of the street. Finally, in my opinion, when parents park dangerously
in front of the school entrance, they will be punished and have to pay some money—a
fine(罚金). This way, they will be cautious and think twice before parking.
In a word, cars are making it dangerous for students to enter the school safely.
Therefore(因此), encouraging students to walk to school, or asking parents to
park away from the school gate could solve this problem.

Ⅳ. 任务型阅读
新素养·思维品质 There are so many traffic accidents now. Many people are
killed or hurt every day on roads. It’s becoming a more and more serious problem.
Why?
Sometimes drivers drive too fast or don’t drive carefully enough. They talk on the
cell phone while driving. Some drivers drive against the red lights. What’s worse(更
糟的是), some drive on the road after drinking alcohol(酒). Now ① “No
driving after drinking; No drinking before driving” is very popular.
Many people think the main reason of traffic accidents is from drivers. Is it true?

A survey(调查) shows that the pedestrians(行人) can also cause the traffic
accidents. Some of them often walk in the roads instead of on the walkways. They get
into or out of cars in the middle of the road. They walk or run in front of the fast cars.
They even walk across the roads against the red lights.
Some people think that too many people cause too many accidents. However,
the traffic in Tokyo(东京) shows that it is wrong. ②Tokyo is one of the world’s
largest and busiest cities. The police there are strict. The drivers there are careful,
and the pedestrians follow the traffic rules. There are very few accidents happening
there.
