Chinese people are eating too much salt. On average (平均), people in China eat about 10.5 grams of salt each day, much higher than the 5 grams advised by Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2022). To solve this, China announced the latest salt reduction guide for its food industry on April 26, 2022. The government hopes that can help people have salt in a proper way.
If the guide is followed properly, the average salt intake for Chinese people will drop by 20 percent by 2030. The salt we take in mainly comes from processed (加工的) food. For example, there is about 0. 66 grams of salt in a 104-gram can of Lay’s potato chips. That is about 10 percent of the recommended daily salt intake. A 100-gram bag of Kang Shi Fu instant noodles has nearly 2 grams of salt. Therefore, it’s necessary for the companies to reduce salt in their products.
A small amount of salt makes food taste better and is important for good health, but eating too much increases the risk of high blood pressure, the Xinhua News Agency reported. Less salt leads to better health. And there’s no need to worry that food will be less tasty in the future. A study found that it’s easy for people to reduce their salt intake. Although you may think your food is not salty enough at first, you will get used to the new taste soon.

C. Processed food will disappear in the market.
D. People will be able to avoid taking in too much salt.
29. Which picture can show the relationship between salt intake and diseases?
A.
B.
C.
D.

Dear Tom,
How is it going? I’m writing to tell you something about the Science and Technology Festival It was held on the playground last Tuesday. It began at 8 in the morning and ended at 6 in the afternoon.
At the festival, some students took part in the robot model-making competition. Many of their robots, which were the most wonderful part of the festival, drew people’s attention. These robots were in the shape of lovely animals such as rabbits, monkeys and dogs. They were doing some simple tasks like cleaning the floor and throwing away rubbish. What’s more, some other students carried out scientific experiments. The students who were present at the festival gave them cheers of encouragement.
