"Auld Lang Syne"is a song that everyone happily sings,which marks the start of a
new year.No one ever seems to know the words or what they mean,but in America,it's
as much a part of New Year's tradition as wine.But why?
The lyrics (to the song come from a poem written by the great Scottish poet
Robert Burns in 1788.The title,"Auld Lang Syne",is believed to be an old Scottish way
of saying "a long time ago".The opening lines of the song "Should auld acquaintance be
