Ask students to show and appreciate each other's homework of last period-an English handwritten newspaper about a great scientist. 【设计意图】展示上节课的家庭作业-关于一位伟大科学家的手抄报，学生可以挑选出最佳作品，对同学的作品进行互评。本活动回顾了上节课的主旨，同时也让学生对这节课的视频内容产生观看期待。 2.Predict. Ask students what they think they will see in the video. Have them tick the items that they think will be mentioned.(Before You Watch) 【设计意图】预测视频内容，激发学生的好奇心，为视频输入和活动输出奠定基础。 活动二：获取与梳理 Enjoy the video.(While You Watch) (1)Ask students to watch the video and check their answers from Before You Watch. Suggested answers: butterfly; computer; diver; frog; polar bear; submarine; volcano; whale (2)Ask students to watch the video again and complete these quotes with the words they hear in the video. (After You Watch) ·Of the explorations in the video, which seems the most important? Which seems the most interesting? Why? ·Why is it important to explore,in your opinion? ·How would you like to explore our world? Why? Suggested answers: ·The most important is the one with the butterflies, because butterflies are easily affected by climate and pollution, and so their lives can tell us a lot about how the world is doing. The most interesting is the cave diving where they found the animal bones. It just seems so strange and mysterious, and one would not expect to find bones there. ·I think it is important to explore because exploration is a part of human growth,both as an individual and society. Through exploration, we develop ourselves. Our interests and curiosity cause us to learn, to improve, and to be better. ·I would like to visit places with my camera and take photos of interesting places and people, as I enjoy photography and love travelling and finding out about new cultures. 【设计意图】学生观看视频后，谈论视频中最重要和最有趣的部分，思考探索的重要性以及自己会怎样探索我们的世界，有助于学生启发思维，将知识内化，同时培养学生的科学探索的精神。 活动四：内化与运用 1.
