The Little Mermaid
This one is really fantastic, because a black actress, Halle Bailey, is playing the main character, who was white in the 1989 cartoon. On general release from 24May

Box office numbers certainly won’t lie.

Some of them are in the Himalayas, but most are in the Italian Alps, where Pietro (Luca Marinlli, a city boy from Turin, becomes fiends with Bruno Alessandro Borghi, the only child let in a village. I was living in Delta in 2015. There was a man, Boniface, who owned a store which I’d often visited. Gradually we became friends. One day, we talked about the business opportunities in our country at that time, and during the communication, I found the most practical one was starting a barrow (手推车) rental business. Then we had some in-depth exchanges of views on it, and both of us thought there was a strong possibility of succeeding. So we went into the business.
We started as a small business with 6 barrows. The barrow-men gave us 51 cents per day for renting the barrows. It seemed small but later grew and made our life better. But we didn’t stop there. That was because when we first started our business our aim wasn’t only to make money. The most valuable thing for us is to touch others’ lives positively.
In Nigeria, being a barrow pusher is not a very attractive job. But for people who were poor farmers or young people without jobs, wheelbarrow pushing helps them make a living. It doesn’t require much skill. With hard work and vigor, a person can make money daily.
We saw the meaning of this business and then decided to spend money and resources on re-branding barrows. We gave each barrow-man a branded T-shirt to show they belonged to a good brand. We also held small classes for them to educate them on how to make their barrows better transporters and how to be extra polite to people so as to build up a good reputation. We marketed them as polite and excellent pushers to attract more customers. These methods worked. They started getting more jobs and earned more. And a number of them even saved up enough to start businesses of their own.
Today, that little business made us millionaires while hiring over 20 people and touching their lives positively. Over 20 families are fed because two Nigerians decided, despite all the difficulties, to do something.
39.What made the author start the barrow rental business?
A.Losing his job. B.Being short of money.
C.His family’s suggestion. D.His discussion with a friend.
40.What did the author consider most important in running the business?
A.Hiring more workers. B.Improving people’s lives.
C.Cutting the company’s costs. D.Making customers loyal to their company.
41.What did the author and his friend do to rebrand the business?
A.They sent the barrow-men to school.
B.They lent money to the barrow-men.
C.They taught the barrow-men to make clothes
D.They turned the barrow-men into professional pushers.

On a flight from Dallas, Texas, to Cincinnati, Ohio, to visit a friend in 2013, event planner Paige Chenault daydreamed about the grand birthday parties she’d throw for her daughter one day. (Paige was five months pregnant at the time.) Then, flipping through a magazine, she saw a photo of an impoverished Haitian boy, skinny. “I thought, this kid has nothing,” Paige says.
The image stayed with her, and she resolved to do something to help. “I decided I would use my talents to throw birthday parties for homeless kids,” Paige says. For the next four years, Paige and her husband, Colin, took time out from parenthood to visit shelters to determine how best to pull off the parties.
Finally, in January 2017, Paige launched the Birthday Party Project, a nonprofit organization, and recruited friends and family to help decorate Dallas’s 75- occupant Family Gateway Shelter with balloons and streamers, celebrating the birthdays of 11 boys and girls, with 60 more homeless kids in attendance. “That first party was better than I could have ever imagined,” says Paige.
Now Paige and her staff of three paid employees work with regional volunteers to plan monthly themed parties at 15 shelters across the country, some of which house abused or abandoned kids. Each child celebrating a birthday that month gets a $30 gift, a decorative place mat, and an individual cake or cupcake.
One of Paige’s favorite parts of each party is when the kids make a wish and blow out the candles. “They rarely get a chance to dream big,” says Paige.
Her daughter, Lizzie, now seven, often helps out at the parties. Paige says, “The one thing I’ve always wanted is for my kid to be generous.”

I was walking down the street in a small town the other day and passed a couple sitting on a bench. “She must be 180 centimeters tall,” I heard the woman say to the man. I turned to look at them straight in the eye at once. I felt angry and awkward that they were talking about me and staring. The woman suddenly said, “Oh, she must understand Chinese.” “Yes, I do,” I replied. Then, they both smiled and laughed, and so did I.
This was yet another time in the town when strangers stared or talked about my appearance. It’s either because of my unusually tall height as a woman or because I am a foreigner. As a shy person, this makes me feel quite uncomfortable. I just want to fit in! I usually just try to ignore such people, but this time, as soon as I talked to the couple, they went from judgmental strangers to people I just shared a warm and funny moment with.
It reminded me how important it is to have the right attitude and to be understanding. There aren’t that many foreigners in the town, so it’s only natural that Chinese people here will feel curious about foreigners and how they look different. Although, when people stare at you it feels a bit hostile, but most people arc simply curious and may even want to chat with you.
In short, I can’t change this situation. The only thing I can change is my attitude toward it. Life is too short to be influenced by the little things. We need to enjoy each moment with a positive and open attitude!
41.What can we learn from Paragraph 1?
A.The woman was speaking in Chinese.
B.The woman got angry with the author.
C.The author didn’t actually know Chinese.
D.The author didn’t feel happy in the end.
42.How did the author deal with this kind of situation before?
A.She just laughed back. B.She talked to the people.
C.She gave no attention. D.She shared a smile with them.
43.In Paragraph 3, the author ______.
A.expressed her anger again
B.described her life in a foreign town
C.put herself in other people’s shoes
D.explained why she came to the town
44.The underlined word “hostile” in Paragraph 3 is closest in meaning to “______”.
A.considerate B.unfriendly C.unimportant D.curious
45.What has the author learned from her experience?
A.Being a foreigner is not an easy thing.
B.Don’t judge people by their looks.
C.Don’t talk about others’ appearance in public.
D.We should have a positive and open attitude.

If you are looking for a unique gift for a graduate, I recommend these children’s picture books for their wit and wisdom.
I Wish You More
I Wish You More, by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld, is a book full of good wishes, expressed in a way that graduates will appreciate. While acknowledging (承认) life isn’t perfect, the wishes are always for the best. Wishes include, “I wish you more give than take” and “I wish you more umbrellas than rain”. The book’s creators effectively combine humor, wisdom and affection in it.
If You Hold a Seed
The author and illustrator Elly MacKay’s illustrations tell this quiet story about a little boy who plants a seed and patiently cultivates and cares for it over the seasons until it reaches maturity. This story also serves as a metaphor (隐喻) for working towards a dream or goal with care and patience and reaching it over time, which makes If You Hold a Seed a good graduation gift.
Only One You
In this picture book written and illustrated by Linda Kranz, a mother and a father decide it is time to share their wisdom with their son, Adri. While Adri’s parents’ words are indeed wise, it is the mixed media artwork illustrating their meanings that makes this book so special. For example, “If something gets in your way, move around it” is illustrated with a line of rock fish that detour around a fishing line with a worm on it.
36.How does the writer introduce I Wish You More?
A.By showing some examples. B.By telling an interesting story.
C.By making a comparison. D.By explaining the meanings of the wishes.
37.What would the writer like to tell us by If You Hold a Seed?
A.Plants have something to do with seeds.
B.It is not easy for a plant to reach maturity.
C.The book can be regarded as a good gift for kids.
D.Care and patience are important in realizing a goal.
38.Only One You is illustrated with pictures in order to ______.
A.take it more expensive B.show the writer’s artistic standard

My doctor took me for a walk around the farm where she lives. I was physically and emotionally exhausted and discouraged by anxiety and depression.
The place was full of life. There were insects, horses, rabbits and a cat. She told me to focus on my body in the environment.
When I was ill I tended to retreat into my mind and disconnect from here and now. So, when I met a horse named Fira, I expected nothing.
As I got closer to Fira, she nuzzled (用鼻子爱抚)her nose into my chest, putting a gentle pressure over my heart. Something happened inside me: I felt as if I had reached a wellspring (源泉)of past hurts, fears and failings. I began to melt emotionally.
I patted Fira's nose and breathed in her smell. I found I didn't have to concentrate on feeling better; Fira helped me feel loved and safe.
I worked with Fira often, learning basic communication and leading methods to work together with her. Initially, I wasn't sure exactly what one would do with a horse except riding it. But I knew that Fira had touched me in an uncommon way and had made me feel better. She connected with me by responding to my emotional state and reflecting it back to me in an open, affectionate way.
In my meetings with Fira, I found that I lost my usual self-consciousness and I would focus entirely on communicating.
I learned to live in the present, to focus on what was happening this day, in this moment, in this place. I learned to forget the past, with all its hurts. I learned to forget the future, which hasn't happened yet. When you stand beside a horse, you exist completely in the moment.
"With Fira by my side, I saw into a life in which trust comes first, and compassion follows.
I found a deep peace in leading her along a path, by using my own power of intention to indicate whether to start, stop, turn left or turn right. I felt an inner quiet and even joy. My work with this horse was part of a journey out of a very dark night in my soul.

One day when I was 12, my mother gave me an order: I was to walk to the public library, and borrow at least one book for the summer. This was one more weapon for her to defeat my strange problem — inability to read.
In the library, I found my way into the “Children’s Room.” I sat down on the floor and pulled a few books off the shelf at random. The cover of a book caught my eye. It presented a picture of a beagle. I had recently had a beagle, the first and only animal companion I ever had as a child. He was my secret sharer, but one morning, he was gone, given away to someone who had the space and the money to care for him. I never forgot my beagle.
There on the book’s cover was a beagle which looked identical to my dog. I ran my fingers over the picture of the dog on the cover. My eyes ran across the title, Amos, the Beagle with a Plan. Unknowingly, I had read the title. Without opening the book, I borrowed it from the library for the summer.
Under the shade of a bush, I started to read about Amos. I read very, very slowly with difficulty. Though pages were turned slowly, I got the main idea of the story about a dog who, like mine, had been separated from his family and who finally found his way back home. That dog was my dog, and I was the little boy in the book. At the end of the story, my mind continued the final scene of reunion, on and on, until my own lost dog and I were, in my mind, running together.
My mother’s call returned me to the real world. I suddenly realized something: I had read a book, and I had loved reading that book. Everyone knew I could not read. But I had read it. Books could be incredibly wonderful and I was going to read them.
I never told my mother about my “miraculous” (奇迹般地) experience that summer, but she saw a slow but remarkable improvement in my classroom performance during the next year. And years later, she was proud that her son had read thousands of books, was awarded a PhD in literature, and authored his own books, articles, poetry and fiction. The power of the words has held.
41.The author’s mother told him to borrow a book in order to_____.
A.encourage him to do more walking B.let him spend a meaningful summer
C.help cure him of his reading problem D.make him learn more about weapons
42.The book caught the author’s eye because_____.
A.it contained pretty pictures of animals B.it reminded him of his own dog
C.he found its title easy to understand D.he liked children’s stories very much
43.Why could the author manage to read the book through?
A.He was forced by his mother to read it. B.He identified with the story in the book.
C.The book told the story of his pet dog. D.The happy ending of the story attracted him.
44.What can be inferred from the last paragraph?
A.The author has become a successful writer. B.The author’s mother read the same book.
C.The author’s mother rewarded him with books. D.The author has had happy summers ever since.
45.Which one could be the best title of the passage?
A.The Charm of a Book B.Mum’s Strict Order

When I was young I wanted to be a model, so when a national contest was staged, I convinced my parents to take me for an audition (试演). I was selected and told I had potential. They said that for only $900 I could attend a weekend event which dozens of the most prestigious (有声望的) modeling agencies from around the world would attend. At 13, my hopes of fame and fortune clouded all judgment and I begged my parents to let me go. We have never been rich, but they saw my enthusiasm and agreed.
I imagined being signed by some famous model companies. For months, any boredom or disappointment was pushed aside because I knew I would soon have the chance to be a real model. I thought I would grace the covers of famous magazines!
Of course, I wasn’t signed, but what hurt me most was being told that if I grew to 5’9” (about 1.75 metres) I could be a success. I prayed for a growth spurt (冲刺) because I could not imagine giving up my dream. I made an appointment with a local modeling agency and the agent demanded $ 500 for classes, $500 for a photo shoot, and $ 300 for other expenses. My parents only agreed after hours and hours of me begging.
The agency sent me out on a few auditions, but with every day I didn’t receive a call I grew more depressed. The final straw came in July after I had decided to focus on commercial (广告) modeling. There was an open call in New York City. We spent hours driving and another few hours waiting, only to be told that I was too short I was devastated (感到难以承受的).
Years later Ire zed that the trip to New York was good as it made me notice I didn’t actually love modeling, just the idea of it. I wanted to be special and I was innocently determined to reach an impossible goal. The experience has made me stronger and that will help me in the future.

45.What did the author learn from her experience of struggling to be a model?

Roger Conner is a modern-day Horatio Alger hero. Roger started out as an unpaid worker in a small flower shop. He has become the owner of a florist company whose sales are well over $100,000 a year.
One day when Roger was only twelve, he stopped at a local flower shop. He asked the owner if he could work for him, without pay, in order to learn the business. Roger started working every day after school and on weekends. After two years on the job, he finally asked for a small salary. The owners told him he “wasn’t good enough to be paid.” So he quit, and found a paying job at another local flower shop. He worked hard there, but after six months they laid him off because business was slow. Not discouraged, Roger decided to do it alone and started his own flower store in a basement. He started his business with only sixty-five dollars. He bought old refrigerators at garage sales and knocked the shelves out. This turned them into coolers for his fresh-cut flowers. His business grew rapidly as he built up a reputation for top quality and fine service.
In 1977, Roger bought out the flower store where he had worked without pay for over two years. The people who said he “wasn’t good enough” were astonished to find that they were being taken over by a teenager. He had plans to renovate (整修) the whole store.
One of the reasons the owners sold out to Roger was that the store wasn’t doing well. But after Roger took over ownership and redid the store, business started booming. In fact, business was so good that after one year, he celebrated by buying out the other store where he had worked. Roger then combined both stores and moved to a location in the center of his town.

My phone chirped, alerting me to a text message from a friend. It was about the disaster that is 2020. My daughter Julia read it aloud. “I’m not adding this year to my age since I didn’t use it.”
“I’m on board with that,” I said. “It feels like the whole world is on pause, and nothing we do right now matters in the long run. Everything is closed, and we spend all day at home staring at screens.”
Julia nodded. “I’m already accepted into college, so my grades don’t matter. I can’t see my friends either. The restaurant where I work is closed, and if you’re not an essential worker, it’s fine to just watch Netflix and eat snacks all day.”
The next morning, my friend texted me again. “The worst purchase I’ve ever made was a 2020 planner.”
I laughed and showed it to Julia. To my surprise, she didn’t laugh. Instead, she said, “I’m going upstairs to get my 2020 planner. You need to grab yours, too.”
It took me a few minutes to locate it because it had been weeks since I had any actual plans to keep track of.
When I went back downstairs, Julia pointed to the open page in her planner in her own handwriting. “I just read over my new year resolutions for 2020. The virus does make it seem like the world is on pause, but we can still move forward with a lot of our goals.”
I found my 2020 To-Do List, full of goals for getting healthy, tidying my home, and being a better wife and mother.
When the pandemic first started, I’d spent hours each day watching the news, feeling anxious and scared all the time. Eventually, I realized that I needed to cut back on it. But instead of turning off the TV altogether, I watched movies. My only goal was to get through the day until life got back to normal.
I nodded. “I’m in.”
She laid our lists on the table, side by side. “I see that one of your 2020 goals was to spend a lot of time with me before I leave for college, while one of my goals was to learn to cook before I move out.” She smiled. “There’s a significant amount of overlap there.”
I laughed, feeling better than I had in months. “I’d love to teach you to cook.”
“Joining a gym is not going to happen obviously, but I’ll find some fitness apps on my phone.”
“I’d be happy just going for a daily walk with you.” I said. “Cleaning out closets and drawers and finally getting this house organized has been a goal of mine for years. We can work on that one together, too.”
I made the first entry in my planner in months: Go for a walk. Clean out a drawer. Look for some recipes suitable for a beginner cook, feeling my spirits lift.
As the days went on, my house got a little cleaner, Julia grew into a proficient cook, and the number on my bathroom scale got a little better.
Although the world was grieving during a pandemic, what we did as individuals still mattered. We could still take small steps each day to move forward on our goals, and every step in the right direction counts. When we feel the least like doing something productive is when we need to do it the most — not to complete the task itself but to give purpose to our day and remind ourselves that we are capable of big things.
31.What does the underlined sentence imply?
A.The author would not like to age. B.The author didn’t like to use the phone.
C.The author was traveling at that time. D.The author also thought the year was wasted.
32.How did Julia feel about her study and work during the pandemic?
A.She was anxious to pursue her study. B.She was satisfied to stay at home.
C.She accepted the fact and live with it. D.She was fed up with the snacks all day.
33.Why didn’t Julia laugh after reading the second text?
A.Because she felt it was not so funny to laugh.
B.Because she was reminded of her own planner.
C.Because she wanted to learn how to cook then.
D.Because her planner was her worst purchase too.
34.What did the “overlap” inspire the author and her daughter to do?
A.To check the resolutions off and remove them together.
B.To weigh the advantages and disadvantages of the goals.
C.To accomplish the common goals by joint efforts.
D.To compare their lists and find better ones to do.
35.Which statement will the author probably agree with?
A.At the mercy of tough situations, individuals’ efforts hardly matter.
B.Resolutions are easier said than done in most cases.
C.We should slow down to keep pace with the pandemic.
D.Every little progress will add up to a big difference.

Apple, a 34-year-old doctor, had been on call at Atlanta Medical Center for more than two days, with only a few hours’ sleep. And now tiredness was clouding her eyes as she drove to a meeting in Kentucky, nearly seven hours away. She tried turning on her CB radio, which enthusiasts used to warn one another about road conditions, but the airwaves (广播频道) were silent. Soon Apple’s car started to weave.
A 41-year-old trucker named Woody Key found a car ahead, drifting (漂移) off the road. Key shouted into his CB microphone (麦克风), “Four-wheeler, are you all right?”
Apple woke up. She talked on her CB radio. “I’m tired, and I’m lucky I’m still alive driving this tired. Thanks!”
“Call me Woodpecker, my CB nickname (昵称),” the trucker said. “I’m going to Kentucky. And you?”
“Kentucky.”
“I’ll travel behind and help keep you awake. What’s your CB nickname?”
“Dr. Froot Loops,” she told him.
As they drove, they shared stories, and the time passed quickly. They parted near the Kentucky state line. She thanked him for keeping her awake and safe on the long, dark road.
Years later, Apple found several doctors checking a person brought in from an accident. His head was badly hurt. She put both hands on his head, hoping to calm him. “It’s not your time to die!” she said.

记叙文
1.(2023-2024学年上学期.天津市河东区.高二期中)

And a number of them even saved up enough to start businesses of their own.”(我们给每个车夫一件印有品牌的t恤,以表明他们属于一个好品牌。

3.(2022-2023学年上学期.天津市部分区.高二期中)

1. (2023-2024学年上学期.天津市实验中学滨海学校.高二期中)
36.What do we know about the author from the first three paragraphs?

38.What does the underlined phrase in paragraph 3 mean?
A.Get out of trouble. B.Keep away from others.
C.Lift up my spirits. D.Make up my mind.
39.When the author and Fira worked together,.

40.What did the author learn during her time with Fira?

C.Reunion with My Beagle D.My Passion for Reading

We spent hours driving and another few hours waiting, only to be told that I was too short I was devastated(感到难以承受的).(最后一根稻草是在7月份,当时我决定专注于商业模特。
根据第三段第一句话“The agency sent me out on a few auditions, but with every day I didn’t receive a call I grew more depressed. (经纪公司派我去试镜了几次,但每天我都没有接到电话,我变得越来越沮丧)”以及最后一句话“We spent hours driving and another few hours waiting, only to be told that I was too short I was devastated(感到难以承受的).(我们花了几个小时开车,又等了几个小时,结果被告知我太矮了,我很伤心)”可知,作者被拒绝了很多次,最后专注于商业模特的希望也破灭了,所以这件事是一系列坏事中的最后一件,结束了她的梦想。故选A。
45.细节理解题。根据最后一段“Years later Ire zed that the trip to New York was good as it made me notice I didn’t actually love modeling, just the idea of it. I wanted to be special and I was innocently determined to reach an impossible goal. The experience has made me stronger and that will help me in the future.(几年后,我意识到纽约之行很好,因为它让我注意到我其实并不喜欢模特,只是喜欢它的想法。我想变得特别,我天真地决心实现一个不可能实现的目标。这段经历让我变得更加坚强,这将在未来对我有所帮助)”可知,作者从她努力成为一名模特的经历中学到了有时候人们会设立不切实际的目标,但是经历能够帮助他们成长。故选D。

The new store has 2,000 square feet and seven employees. And he did it all before he reached the age of twenty.

【答案】36.C 37.B 38.A 39.B 40.C
【导语】本文是一篇记叙文,主要介绍了RogerConner的成功之路,并告诉我们成功靠的是努力和刻苦。
36.推理判断题。根据第二段的“He worked hard there, but after six months they laid him off because business was slow. Not discouraged, Roger decided to do it alone and started his own flower store in a basement.(他在那里工作很努力,但6个月后,因为生意清淡,他被解雇了。罗杰没有气馁,他决定独自创业,在地下室开了自己的花店。)”可知,遇见很多困难,他都没有放弃,而是一直向前,因此作者最想告诉大家的是,想在商业上取得成功的人应该努力工作,坚持不懈,故选C。
37.细节理解题。根据第二段的“He asked the owner if he could work for him, without pay, in order to learn the business. Roger started working every day after school and on weekends. After two years on the job, he finally asked for a small salary.(为了学习业务,他问老板是否可以无偿为他工作。罗杰开始每天放学后和周末工作。工作两年后,他终于要求一份微薄的薪水。)”可知有2年是免费工作;“Not discouraged, Roger decided to do it alone and started his own flower store in a basement.(罗杰没有气馁,他决定独自创业,在地下室开了自己的花店。)”可知,他在地下室开了自己的第一家花店和倒数第二段的“Roger then combined both stores and moved to a location in the center of his town.(然后罗杰把这两家店合并,搬到了镇中心的一个地方。)”可知,他在市中心开了一家商店。由此可知,他的创业经历里,没有运气的成分,只有努力和刻苦再加上思考,故选B。
38.推理判断题。通读全文,尤其是第一段的“Roger Conner is a modern-day Horatio Alger hero. Roger started out as an unpaid worker in a small flower shop. He has become the owner of a florist company whose sales are well over $100,000 a year.(Roger Conner是当代的Horatio Alger英雄。罗杰一开始在一家小花店做无薪工人。他已经成为一家花店公司的老板,每年的销售额超过10万美元。)”可知,本文介绍了Roger Conner的成功之路,并告诉我们成功靠的是努力和刻苦,目的是鼓励人们要脚踏实地工作,才能获得成功,该类讲述激励故事的文章最有可能是从报纸上摘录下来的,故选A。
39.细节理解题。根据文章倒数第二段“One of the reasons the owners sold out to Roger was that the store wasn’t doing well. But after Roger took over ownership and redid the store, business started booming. In fact, business was so good that after one year, he celebrated by buying out the other store where he had worked.(老板们把公司卖给罗杰的原因之一是商店经营得不好。但罗杰接手并重新装修了这家店后,生意开始红火起来。事实上,生意非常好,一年后,他买下了他曾经工作过的另一家店,以示庆祝。)”可知,在生意不好的时候把店买下来,说明他很勇敢,同时他努力地经营并使得生意很好,说明他是一个聪明的人,而不是一个狡猾的年轻人,因此B选项是不正确的,故选B。
40.推理判断题。根据文章第一段“Roger Conner is a modern-day Horatio Alger hero. Roger started out as an unpaid worker in a small flower shop. He has become the owner of a florist company whose sales are well over $100,000 a year.(Roger Conner是当代的Horatio Alger英雄。Roger一开始在一家小花店做无薪工人。他已经成为一家花店公司的老板,每年的销售额超过10万美元。)”可知,Horatio Alger hero就是像Roger这种刚开始很穷,后来变得富有的人,故选C。

We can work on that one together, too.”(“只要每天和你一起散步,我就很高兴了。”我说。“清理壁橱和抽屉,最终把房子整理好,这是我多年来的目标。我们也可以一起努力。”)”可知,这种“重叠”启发了作者和她的女儿核对新年决心,然后一起完成它们。故选A。
35.推理判断题。根据最后一段的“We could still take small steps each day to move forward on our goals, and every step in the right direction counts. When we feel the least like doing something productive is when we need to do it the most—not to complete the task itself but to give purpose to our day and remind ourselves that we are capable of big things.(我们仍然可以每天迈出一小步,朝着我们的目标前进,每一步都是正确的。当我们觉得最不想做某件有成效的事情时,正是我们最需要做这件事的时候——不是为了完成任务本身,而是为了给我们的生活赋予目标,提醒自己我们有能力做大事。)”可知,作者可能会同意的观点是每一个微小的进步都会累积成巨大的差异。故选D。

Then, he asked for her name.
“Dr. Sherry Apple,” she replied.
“No ... your CB nickname.”

“Oh … It’s me … Woodpecker!”
It was her truck driver! She said, “It’s not your time, Woodpecker!” Then Key was rushed into the operating room.
