B A group of Chinese language students from Spain visited Malta for three days. They had a chance to enjoy themselves in the amazing Chinese cultural experiences there. At the Confucius Institute of the University of Malta on Saturday, the students from the Official School of Languages were attracted by traditional Chinese flute (长笛) performances, and Chinese tea making. Each of them was photographed trying on Hanfu, a form of traditional Chinese clothing. Despite their age differences, they all proved their dexterity (灵巧) at traditional Chinese works such as paper-cutting and knot-weaving. Maria Nieves, a group member, expressed her strong interest in Chinese culture, after two years of learning the language. “Despite the challenges, Chinese characters are truly beautiful,” she says. On Sunday, the group visited the Mediterranean Regional Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Paola, Malta. Under the guidance of a doctor, they practiced Ba Duan Jin, a set of exercises whose name translates as “eight steps to healthy living”. A lecture on TCM introduced them to treatments like acupuncture (针灸) and cupping, and some of the students had the chance to personally experience a treatment. Feng Hua, leader of the Chinese medical team, says that the TCM center is planning to host more students, who are interested in TCM and Chinese culture to take part in cultural exchange, and learn more about Chinese medical practice. During their visit to the China Cultural Center in Valletta on Monday, the students were drawn to the traditional Chinese lanterns hanging in front of the entrance, and also to the beautiful tea sets in the main hall. Yuan Yuan, director of the China Cultural Center in Malta, highlights the importance of cultural exchange in promoting friendship between nations. 24.What is the first destination of the students’ study visits? A.University of Malta. B.Official School of Languages. C.Mediterranean Regional Center. D.China Cultural Center. 25.How long had Maria Nieves been studying Chinese? A.Six months. B.One year. C.Two years. D.Three years. 26.How many activities were experienced by the students in Paola, Malta? A.One. B.Two. C.Three. D.Four. 27.What could be the best title for the passage? A.Wisdom of Chinese People B.An Amazing Language Learning Tour C.The Importance of Cultural Exchange D.Spanish Students Visit Malta for Cultural Experience C Parrots are prey animals, which means that other predators (捕食者)in the wild, such as hawks or snakes, are looking to make them into a meal. This one factor influences parrots' behavior in your house more than any other. Parrots are most easily hurt when feeding on the ground;membership in a group plays an important function in ensuring their safety and improving their chances of survival from attacks by predators. The most common predators of parrots include hawks, snakes, cats, monkeys, and bats. Some predators make attacks only during the day while others hunt in the night. As prey animals, parrots are constantly watching out for danger and they instinctively (本能地)react to risks.Their first choice is to take flight. However,if this is not possible, they will fight with their powerful beaks to defend themselves. Because their biggest enemy is the hawk, parrots are especially reactive to quick movements from above and behind. For this reason,it is wise to avoid quick, sudden movements near your bird. This is a built-in reaction not subject to logic or reason.Simple and relatively harmless household objects can draw extreme fear responses from a bird. For example,a balloon may represent a hawk or a vacuum hose(吸尘器软管)may be the same as a snake in your bird's mind. As prey animals, parrots are often frightened by exposure to new household items or strangers. It is important to expose your bird to safe experiences and changes starting at a very young age to build flexibility and improve their adaptability.Variety in diet and toys, travel, and exposure to new people and places all help to make your bird more flexible and adaptable to change. 28. What is important for parrots to better survive from attacks in the wild? A.Living in a group B.Growing beautiful feathers. C.Feeding on the ground. D.Avoiding coming out at night. 29. What is parrots’ first response to an immediate risk? A.To attack back. B.To get away. C.To protect the young D.To play dead. 30. Why would a balloon frighten a parrot? A.It may explode suddenly. B.It may be in a strange shape. C.It may have a strong color. D.It may move around quickly. 31. What is the author’s purpose of writing the text? A.To explain wild parrots’ behavior. B.To give advice on raising a parrot. C.To call for action to protect animals. D.To introduce a study on bird ecology. D It is natural for young people to be critical of their parents at times and to blame them for most of the misunderstandings between them. They have always complained, more or less justly, that their parents are out of touch with modern ways; that they do not trust their children to deal with crisis; that they talk too much about certain problems; and that they have no sense of humor, at least in parent-child relationships. I think it is true that parents often underestimate their teenage children and also forget how they themselves felt when young. Young people often annoy their parents with their choices in clothes and hairstyles, in the entertainers and music. This is not their motive. They feel cut off from the adult world into which they have not yet been accepted. So they create a culture and society of their own. Then it turns out that their music or entertainers or clothes or hairstyles annoy their parents. This gives them additional enjoyment. At least in a small way, they are leaders in style and taste. Sometimes you are proud, because your parents can’t change what you do. If they do approve, it looks as if you are betraying (背叛) your own age group. But in that case, you are assuming that you are an underdog: you can’t win, but at least you can keep your honor. This is a passive way of looking at things. It is natural enough after long years if you were completely under your parents’ control in your childhood. But it ignores the fact that you should be responsible for yourself. From my teaching experience for ages, I want to give you young people the following advice that perhaps can help deal with the generation gap properly. If you plan to control your life, co-operation can be part of that plan. You can charm your parents into doing things the way you want. You can impress them with your sense of responsibility, so that they will give you the authority to do what you want to do. 32.What can we know from the young people's views in Paragraph 1? A.Parents are lacking in humor and like talking a lot. B.Parents always know much and keep pace with the times. C.Parents should be responsible for all the misunderstandings. D.Parents believe their children's ability to solve any problems. 33.What can be inferred about the young people in Paragraph 3? A.They find extra fun from their annoying actions. B.They are quite content to be away from the adult society. C.They make full use of their music to speed up their lives. D.They always annoy their parents in order to enjoy music. 34.Which of the following is the closest to the meaning of the underlined word “underdog” in Paragraph 4? A.Lovely dog. B.Failure. C.Partner. D.Looker. 35.What does the author do according to the text? A.A capable chef. B.A famous writer. C.A senior teacher. D.A trusted entertainer. 第二节(共5小题; 每小题2.5分, 满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Tricks To Becoming A Patient Person Here’s a riddle: What do traffic jams, long lines and waiting for a vacation to start all have in common? Actually, celebrating my birthday in my grandparents’ home had been a family tradition. As a result, their neighbors, warm-hearted and friendly, were familiar with me. Sometimes, they even came to the house and brought me birthday gifts in person. We took the subway there as usual. When we got off the subway, I found I had lost my bag. The bag was memorable to me because it was given by my parents when I became a senior high school student. It also had some valuable items inside, including an expensive watch a birthday gift from my grandparents. I couldn’t help but cry because the bag meant so much to me.“What’s the matter. Lily?” my mom asked. I told her that I might leave the bag on the subway. Hearing that, she comforted me and said. “We have plenty of time. Let’s talk to the staff (工作人员).” Instantly, my parents reported the situation to the staff at the subway station. A kind worker smiled to me and said. “If someone found it, they would hand it in.” He asked us to wait patiently for a while, and then he called for help. After half an hour, the worker didn’t give us any information. I started to become anxious and lose hope. My father said. “No news is good news.”However, the worker finally apologized to us and let us wait for the information on the recovery of the missing bag at home. We had to go to my grandparents’ house first. In the afternoon, while I, together with my grandparents and my father, was preparing for a birthday party, I heard my mother talking to someone on the phone about my lost bag. My heart was beating violently, and I was expecting something extraordinary to happen. Sure enough, my mother got me to answer the phone, “Good news, Lily. The call is just for you, from the kind worker. He said a girl called Beatrice had sent the bag back.” I felt amazed that the girl’s name is the same as my friend’s in Sydney. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 I took the phone, and then the voice of the worker who had helped us at the subway station came from it. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ My family and I were dancing happily when someone knocked at the door. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 高三英语试卷·第4页(共4页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2024/2025学年度第一学期 高三第一次质量检测英语答案 第1部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 1-5. I'm glad to be informed that your reserve(自然保护区) is looking for volunteers. I'm writing to apply for being one of them. As an environmentalist, I have been participating in many programs concerning environmental protection. In the meantime, I love animals very much and know how to take care of animals. By the way, I can speak fluent English, so I can communicate with others well. I'd appreciate it if I could have a chance to receive your approval. Yours, Li Hua 第二节 One possible version I took the phone, and then the voice of the worker who had helped us at the subway station came from it. He explained to me that, the kind girl, Beatrice, had picked up my bag on the subway and that she was sorry for not notifying the Lost and Found office in time. I felt infinitely grateful to him and the girl. When I hung up the phone, I circled with excitement. When my father soon fetched the bag, the birthday dinner was ready, and our family was seated at the desk, where we ate, talking and laughing. After dinner, we began to dance to the music. The house was full of harmony and warmth. My family and I were dancing happily when someone knocked at the door. Grandma stopped dancing and went to open the door. She said “It must be a neighbor who wants to give you a gift, Lily.” In a moment, a beautiful girl entered the house with a bunch of flowers. “Happy birthday, Lily.” said she, my best friend, Beatrice. I warmly welcomed her. When she saw the bag on the sofa, she screamed, “The bag looks like the one I picked up this morning.” We confirmed it and thought it was a coincidence. I said with gratitude, “Thanks, Beatrice. Kindness is always around us.” 听力 W: Jack, are you going camping with your friends this weekend? M: It depends. If it’s sunny, we’ll go. W: The weatherman says it’s going to rain. M: In that case, we’ll go to the cinema instead. W: Excuse me, could you mind my bags for a moment? I want to buy some food at the convenience store. M: No problem. But be quick. It was announced that my train would arrive in 10 minutes. W:Bob came out of hospital last Friday. Have you got a chance to visit him? M: I plan to see him this Saturday. W: Aren’t you going to the conference then? M: No. It has been rescheduled for next Monday. M: Sorry, Miss. We made a terrible mistake adding up the bill. Here is the ten dollars we have to return to you. W: Oh, I didn’t notice that. It’s OK. Don’t blame the waiter. He’s been really nice. W: Do you think we should get Steve a book for the new year? M: Books are good. But Steve wouldn’t take just any book. He has had this particular one on geography. 第二节(共15小题; 每小题1.5分, 满分22.5分) M: Hello, Sara. W: Hello, David. I can’t come for dinner tonight. Sorry. M: Oh, what happened? W: We’ve got a new case and things get pretty crazy here in the office. M: Well, then I’ll come to you. W: No, no, not tonight. Let me see if I can arrange another night. M: Sara, please. We need to talk. It’s about my job. W: Then tell me on the phone. M: No, it’s better if we do it in person. How about tomorrow night? W: I’m not sure. You can give me a call tomorrow afternoon. M: OK. W: Jim will call on us this afternoon. Do you know where he is now? M: Er... wait. Let me see. He has sent two messages saying that he’s done with his work at the office and got a taxi and... and he’ll arrive in twenty minutes. W: We can’t keep him waiting outside our home. We have to hurry. M: But it takes at least half an hour to get to the city center by bus. Look at the traffic. W: Let’s get off. We can save at least twenty minutes by walking through the park. M: Are you sure? W: Yes. A hundred percent. W: Morning, Mark. M: Morning, Clara. How was your weekend? W: Great. I went to my grandpa’s. He invited us to pick vegetables on his farm. My daughter had a great time there. What about you? M: Oh, I had a truly incredible experience. I dropped by a yard sale on Saturday and got several books. W: Novels? M: A novel and two poetry collections. As I leafed through the novel, a piece of paper fell out. It was an air ticket from 2012. The flight was from Los Angeles to Chicago and the name on the ticket was Ashley Louis. W: Was it? M: Yes. Ashley, my sister. In 2012, she lived in Los Angeles and her husband worked in Chicago. Both of them often flew between two cities. I asked the seller where he got the book. He said it was bought at a second-hand bookstore in Los Angeles three years ago. Last year, he and his family moved from Los Angeles to Philadelphia. W: So, all the way across the country, your sister’s old book landed in your hands. That’s really crazy. W: Victor, you’ve been here in Indiana for six weeks now. How are you feeling? M: I think I’ve got used to college life, going to classes, working out and hanging out with my friends. Though there’s pressure to meet deadlines, life here is never boring. W: What’s been hard about being an Indianan basketball player? M: Well, the training is very competitive, weightlifting and running every day. It’s not like high school. In high school, I really didn’t have to do that. I’m just trying to get used to it. And I think I am. W: At this point, how do you see yourself fitting into this group? M: I think we’re all different. George is from Britain. Chris and Leo are from Australia. I’m from France. And the rest are Americans. But I get along with everybody. You know, we are really starting to bond. It’s great to see how we grow each day as a team. W: Thanks, Victor. I wish you a very happy and fruitful stay in Indiana. W: Good evening, dear listeners. When was the last time you enjoyed leisure activities? Do you want to live a full and happy life?
