Grain Buds, the 8th solar term of a year, begins on May 21 this year, and ends on June 4. It means that the seeds (种子) from the grain are becoming full. During the Grain Buds, summer harvest (收获) is about to begin. Because of the great increase in rainfall, rivers are full of water.
Frost’s Descent, the 18th solar term of the year, is the last solar term of autumn, during which the weather becomes much colder than before and frost begins to appear. The apple is one kind of good fruit during Frost’s Descent. It is said that eating an apple after meals can even make old men as strong as young men.

Have you ever read a book called Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption (《丽塔•海华丝和肖申克的救赎》)? It tells a story that is both shocking and full of hope. The book is written by Stephen King, in full Stephen Edwin King, an American writer. Stephen King is the writer of more than fifty books, and all of them are worldwide bestsellers.
Set in 1947, it tells the story of Andy Dufresne, a banker who is put into prison. He is accused of (被指控) killing two people, although he didn’t do it. After years of suffering in the prison, he starts to make friends with others and wins their respect with his outstanding abilities.
But Andy never stops wanting freedom. During his 20 years in prison he has been digging a hole with a small pickaxe (镐头) every day and hiding the hole with a poster. As his well-prepared escape plan is put into practice, the suspense (悬念) in the book keeps readers on edge until the end.
Famous Irish writer Oscar Wilde once said, “We’re all in the gutter (臭水沟), but some of us are looking at the stars.” This saying perfectly sums up Andy’s life. The thing that made the biggest impression on readers is Andy’s love of the beauty of life. He plays a song over the prison’s broadcast system, even though he is not allowed to do so. When the singer’s voice is heard, the prisoners stop talking, put themselves deep in the music and let the beauty flood in.
The book is about good people who refuse to let really bad things become their way of life. The goal of this book is to show readers the power of strength, hope and patience.
4. What kind of writing is the passage above?
A. A diary B. A story C. A review D. A speech
5. The underlined phrase “keeps readers on edge” in Paragraph 3 means “made readers feel ________”.

7. The writer of the story would probably agree that________.
A. it is not necessary to fear the world B. hope is the best thing to hold on to
C. many people are put in prison by mistake D. prisoners should be allowed to listen to music

In many—even most—space-themed films, whenever the earth faces a disaster (灾难), the solution is always flying away from the planet in spaceships. But the latest Chinese sci-fi (科幻) movie, The Wandering Earth, offers a different and more ambitious idea.
In the film, which is based on a short story by Chinese sci-fi writer Liu Cixin, the earth is in danger of being destroyed by the dying sun. As a result, humans around the world work together to build a large engine system that will push the earth away from the sun. Instead of giving up the earth again—this time we’re taking it with us.
This “ambition” didn’t come from nowhere. For thousands of years, “homeland” has had a soft place in the hearts and minds of Chinese people. One old expression is “luoyeguigen”, which means returning to one’s homeland in old age, like fallen leaves returning to the roots of their tree. It shows the close relationship that Chinese people have had with their homeland.
This special cultural background is probably what sets The Wandering Earth apart from Hollywood-style space films. “What is Chinese sci-fi?” Guo Fan, the film’s director, said in an interview. “A vehicle that can really express our culture and spirit can be called Chinese sci-fi. Otherwise, we’re just copying others and telling the same American stories.”
And the makers of The Wandering Earth may have chosen the best time to tell its Chinese sci-fi story. The film was performed on Feb. 5, the first day of Chinese New Year. It was a time when many people had just made the hard journey back to their hometowns. Almost everyone was moved by the movie. So to them, there is only one possible way to tell the story: The earth goes wherever humans go, because it’s our home.
8. What’s the matter with the earth according to the passage?
A. It is dying out. B. It is too old to move.
C. It is in danger of being destroyed by the dying sun. D. It is becoming dirtier and dirtier.
9. What does the word “ambitious” mean?
A. successful and powerful B. easy but boring
C. important but impossible D. interesting and relaxing
10. Which statement is true according to the passage?
A. In the movie The Wandering Earth, people are flying away from the earth in spaceships.
B. The old expression “luoyeguigen” means someone wants to have a job in another city.
C. It is Liu Cixin, the film’s director who explained what Chinese sci-fi is.
D. People could watch the film on Feb. 5, the first day of Chinese New Year.
11. Why are so many people moved by the movie?
A. Because it tells us the earth goes wherever humans go, because it’s our home.
B. Because it makes people learn much knowledge about the earth.
C. Because it copies others and tells the same American stories.
D. Because everyone can watch the movie without paying.
【答案】8. C 9. A 10. D 11. A

The Chinese central government is making great efforts to provide skill training programs for rural migrant workers (农民工). The goal is to help keep the job market and win the fight against poverty (贫困).
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (人力资源和社会保障部门) recently started a project to train 7 million rural migrant workers this year and the same number next year. The ministry said, “Companies will play key roles in organizing training programs for these workers.”

One is how much the training costs and the other is job-hopping of their best workers.” he added. “As far as I know, companies want to improve the workers’ skills and keep competitive by training. However, job-hopping makes the companies lose their experienced workers so it will take longer time to train other new workers.”
He also mentioned something about high-technology training programs, “Training is a learning process for these workers, including migrant workers who have little knowledge of operating machines. 【导语】本文主要介绍了《逃出大英博物馆》这部网剧的相关内容。
【51题详解】
句意:8月30日播出的三集网剧《逃出大英博物馆》因其感人和富有创意的故事而在网上走红。空后的“Aug. 30”是具体的日期,其前应用介词on。故填on。
故填has become。
(to) do sth.“帮助某人做某事”和提示词可知,空处应填return或to return。故填return/to return。

【56题详解】

【59题详解】
句意:观众说,这表明大英博物馆没有很好地照顾这些文物。good“好的”,形容词。结合提示词和“the British Museum doesn’t take care of the artifacts...”可知,空处应填副词well,用于修饰动词短语take care of。故填well。

【答案】例文
My Favorite Invention
Mobile phones are without doubt one of the most useful inventions. They were invented by Martin Cooper from America in 1973.
With the development of technology, mobile phones have brought about many changes in our lives. Firstly, they make it more convenient for us to communicate with others. We can make calls, send messages, and even video chat with people anywhere in the world. Secondly, we no longer need to carry cameras with us as mobile phones can take high-quality photos. Moreover, we can use mobile phones to access the Internet, read news, play games, and do many other things.
However, as teenagers, we should use mobile phones wisely. We should not spend too much time playing games or browsing the Internet. Instead, we can use them to learn knowledge, read books, and listen to music. Also, we should be careful when using mobile phones and avoid being addicted to them.
In conclusion, mobile phones have changed our lives in many ways, but we should use them properly to make our lives more meaningful and enjoyable.

The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms (节气). They are still useful today to guide people’s lives.
Minor Cold is the 23rd one. For most areas of China, it marks the start of the coldest days of the year and people always start preparing for the Spring Festival.
During his 20 years in prison, he has been digging a hole with a small pickaxe (镐头) every day and hiding the hole with a poster.
A. A diary B. A story C. A review D. A speech

9 What does the word “ambitious” mean?
A. successful and powerful B. easy but boring
C. important but impossible D. interesting and relaxing
10. Which statement is true according to the passage?
A. In the movie The Wandering Earth people are flying away from the earth in spaceships.
A. Because it tells us the earth goes wherever humans go because it’s our home.
B. Because it makes people learn much knowledge about the earth.
C. Because it copies others and tells the same American stories.
D. Because everyone can watch the movie without paying.
D
The Chinese central government is making great efforts to provide skill training programs for rural migrant workers (农民工). The goal is to help keep the job market and win the fight against poverty (贫困).
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (人力资源和社会保障部门) recently started a project to train 7 million rural migrant workers this year and the same number next year. The ministry said, “Companies will play key roles in organizing training programs for these workers.”
Wang Xing, a professor from Nankai University who pays more attention to social work, said, “Our government training programs for migrant workers is mainly to help companies reduce training costs. Companies don’t have to pay a lot of money for the job training anymore.”
“Companies usually care about two things in workers’ training.
Short-term programs can help migrant workers to find jobs they are good at. Long-term programs are necessary to help everyone learn professional knowledge and special skills for jobs that are more difficult to do.”
12. What is the goal of the skill training programs?
A. To provide skill training programs for university professors.
B. To organize exam skill training for university students.
C To keep the job market and win the fight against poverty.
D. To pay money for job training.
13. The underlined word “job-hopping” means ________ in the passage.
A. doing a bad job B. changing the jobs C. keeping the jobs D. doing a good job

B. The professor called Wang Xing, from Nankai University.
C. The training cost and job-hopping.
D. Some high-technology training programs.
15. What can we infer (推断) from the passage?
