Archaeologists(考古学家)in China have uncovered more than 3,000 dinosaur footprints, the world's largest group of fossilized bones belonging to the ancient animals. The footprints, believed to be more than 100 million years old, were discovered after a three-month excavation (挖掘)at a gully in Zhucheng in the eastern province of Shandong, the Xinhua news agency reported.
The footprints range from 10 to 80 centimeters(4 to 32 inches)in length, and belonged to at least six different kinds of dinosaurs, including tyrannosaurs(霸王龙),the report said.
Wang Haijun,a senior engineer at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said the footprints faced the same direction,Xinhua said.
This indicated a possible migration(迁徙)or a panic escape by plant-eating dinosaurs after an attack by predators(食肉动物),Wang added.
Archaeologists have found dinosaur fossils at some 30 sites in Zhucheng, known as “dinosaur city”.The region has seen two major digs since 1964,and experts say the discovery of so many dinosaurs in such a dense area could provide clues on how the animals became extinct millions of years ago.
Plans are being made to set up a fossil park in the area.

Today,a kind of animal is an endangered species(物种) .This means there are very few animals of that kind left on Earth. The animals could face extinction(灭绝) . 26 When a type of animal is extinct,it is gone forever.
One problem for animals is that their living places are sometimes destroyed by humans. As human populations increase, more and more space is needed.Building houses for people to live in forces animals to leave their natural homes.Trees are cut down to make room for homes and businesses.Swamps( 沼 泽 )are filled in so that neighborhoods can expand(扩展) .Th living places are destroyed. The animals have nowhere else to go.
_____27
Humans must stop the extinction of animals because of the loss of their living places. We have to learn more about animal populations when considering building things.Other choices may not be so convenient.
28 Better planning can make a difference. It is still possible to keep so many kinds of animals for future children to enjoy.
Another major problem is over hunting by humans. 29 The governments of countries around the world must agree on laws about protecting animals. Some animals may have large enough populations so hunting will not put them in danger.Others must be protected.
30 Some organizations are working hard to create living places for them. Breeding (繁殖)programs are helping animal populations increase. We ll have to know the problem and think before we act.The things we do can have an effect on more than just ourselves.
A.This is a worldwide problem.
B.Extinction is when ll the animals of that kind die.
C.However, they can be helpful to the lovely animals.
D It s important for animals to have enough food to eat.
