The Friendship of Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya
It refers to the deep friendship between Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya. Later, it was also used to describe the deep friendship and mutual trust between friends.
During the Spring and Autumn Period, Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya knew each other since childhood. They had very different personalities but similar interests.
Guan Zhong came from a poor family, while Bao Shuya came from a wealthy family.
Despite this, Bao Shuya never looked down on Guan Zhong. Instead, he took care of him everywhere, and the friendship between the two became increasingly deep.
The two had once done business together. Guan Zhong invested less capital because of his poor family, but he took more dividends.
Bao Shuya did not care about this, but explained that Guan Zhong needed more money because of his poor family.
This mutual understanding and tolerance further deepened their friendship.
Their country, Qi, had fierce internal political struggles and faced threats from other countries.
When Qi was in civil strife, Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya assisted different princes to take refuge.
Guan Zhong assisted Prince Jiu, and Bao Shuya assisted Prince Xiaobai. Both of them were brothers of Duke Xiang of Qi.
When the civil strife broke out in Qi, Duke Xiang of Qi was killed, and his two brothers wanted to rush back to Qi to be kings.
So Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya also intercepted each other for these two people.
Unexpectedly, it was Prince Xiaobai and Bao Shuya who rushed back to the capital of Qi first and became kings.
Prince Xiaobai (later Duke Huan of Qi) succeeded to the throne and later killed Prince Jiu. When killing Guan Zhong, Bao Shuya strongly recommended Guan Zhong as prime minister, saying that this person had outstanding abilities, and he was willing to retreat behind the scenes.
If Guan Zhong was reused, the country would be strong.
Duke Huan of Qi was persuaded and directly reused Guan Zhong and made him prime minister.
With the assistance of Guan Zhong, Qi had clear politics, prosperous economy, and strong military, and eventually became the leader of the Five Hegemons of the Spring and Autumn Period.
Guan Zhong once said: "My parents gave me life, but Uncle Bao knows me." The friendship between Guan and Uncle Bao became a legend.

The Lost Kite and the Found Friendship
Once upon a time, in a small town by the sea, there lived a young boy named Jack. Jack was known for his love of flying kites, especially on sunny afternoons when the wind was just right. One such day, he tied his favorite kite, a bright blue dragon, to a long string and ran to the beach with excitement.
As he launched the kite into the sky, it soared higher and higher, dancing with the clouds. Jack watched in awe, feeling a sense of freedom that only kite-flying could bring. But suddenly, a gust of wind caught the kite, and before Jack could react, it was gone—whisked away into the blue yonder.
Heartbroken, Jack searched the sky for any sign of his beloved dragon kite. He walked along the beach, calling its name, but there was no answer. Just as he was about to give up hope, he heard a voice from behind.
"Hey, are you looking for a kite?" said a girl with sparkling eyes and a mischievous smile.
"Yes! Did you see it? It's a blue dragon kite," Jack replied eagerly.
The girl nodded and pointed to a nearby tree. There, tangled among the branches, was Jack's kite, still intact and shining brightly. Together, they climbed the tree and rescued the kite, laughing and chatting all the way.
From that day on, Jack and the girl, whose name was Lily, became inseparable friends. They flew kites together, explored the town, and shared their dreams and secrets under the starry nights.
And every time they looked up at the sky, they remembered that sometimes, the most valuable things in life are not what we lose, but the unexpected friendships we find along the way.

Passage C
Do you feel lonely when your best friend isn't around? Here's our advice to you—and to all kinds who feel lonely sometimes.
It's hard when a best friend isn't around—maybe because he or she moved to a different school or a different class. You may feel left out during break(间歇)or lunchtime. You want to make new friends, but how do you find them? Maybe it seems like everybody else already has his or her own friends. But remember, there's always room for more friends.
Start by looking around your classroom—think about which kids you'd like to play with during break. Look for chances(机会)to say hi to them, smile, and be friendly. Offer(主动提出)to share something or express(表达)your appreciation(欣赏)to them. Invite someone to play with you or say "Do you want to sit here?" in the lunchroom. When you're at break, walk over to kids you want to play with, act(举止)friendly, and say "Hi, may I join you?" or just join in.
If you have trouble(问题)doing this or if you're feeling shy, ask your teacher to help you make new friends. Teachers are usually pretty good at matching(相配)people up. The best way to make friends is to be a friend. Being kind, being friendly, sharing, saying nice things, offering help—pretty soon, you'll have one, or two, or even more new friends.
You might still miss that special best friend. But when you see each other again, you can share something you didn't have before he or she left: You can introduce him or her to your new friends!
