Archaeologists(考古学家) knew the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, had an underground mausoleum(陵墓) somewhere in the area. But the mausoleum had been hidden intentionally after he died in 210 B. C., and caretakers planted trees on top in the hope that it would never be found. The clay statue(雕像) was one of thousands of the Terracotta Army.
And in recent years, new technologies have helped scientists understand how they came to be. Archaeologists even found 20 more Terracotta Warriors in 2022.
Scientists have yet to unearth all the soldiers buried(埋葬) with the emperor, but they think as many as 8,000 statues make up this clay army. The statues include life- sized warriors, officers and horses.

If you ask me to tell how to get along in the United States, I think the following “do's” and “don'ts” would be helpful.
Generally speaking, it isn't easy to find anyone to talk to in a busy city, so you should try to do the following. First, get or borrow a dog! Walk him several times a day! Americans love dogs and cats and usually stop to talk to anyone with a dog. Then, try to eat in a restaurant. People generally share the same table and will sometimes talk to you if they see you are new there. Next, take your dirty clothes to a laundry(洗衣店)! It takes about an hour to wash and dry them and people there often pass the time talking with each other. Always ask for information from a woman if you are a man, and from a man, if you are a woman! Learn to say,“Please” “Thank you” and “You’re welcome” and use them all the time!
There are some things you shouldn't do. Don't tell the truth when people ask,“ How are you?” The only answer they want is“ Fine”. Never ask people their age especially women! Everyone wants to be young. Don't tell obese people they are fat. Tell them they are losing weight. Most people want to be thin. Don't be late when meeting people! When someone says six o'clock, be sure to be there by six. Americans respect time and want everyone to be“ on time”.
Above all, don't worry! Just follow my advice and you will get along. I hope I have been of some help to you.

Of all the courses, I like paper cutting best. It's a form of traditional art. The most common pictures are flowers, animals and things about Chinese history. It shows us the beauty of our life. During the Spring Festival, we Chinese people put the pictures on windows, doors and walls, because they are symbols of good luck and a happy new year. Paper cutting sounds easy, but actually it is difficult. You must be careful and patient, and you can turn the paper into beautiful pictures. By studying this course,I can learn a lot about Chinese history and Chinese culture. I love paper cutting.
