There are some very good inventions which, for one reason or another, don’t become popular. These inventions should be better known, even though I think that some of them are crazy. Let’s have a look at some of these inventions and see if you agree that they should be more successful.
The Australians had a great idea to stop people from drinking and driving. The idea was that if a driver wanted to start the car, she or he would have to blow up a bag first. If there was too much alcohol (酒精) in their breath, but people said that they might need to drive the car in an emergency (紧急情况) even if they had drunk too much alcohol.
One of the strangest inventions I have seen is a bicycle which can cross rivers! The idea was that when you came to a river, you could inflate a huge plastic ball all around the bike. You would then get into the ball which would float (漂浮) on the river while you pedaled (踩踏板) the bike inside the ball! But why not use a bridge instead?
While we are on the subject of sport, the Americans invented a kind of robot for sportsfans. If you were watching your team on TV alone, you could press a button and the robot would do “high fives (击掌)” with you! Fantastic!

【答案】One possible version:
How I’ve changed
Time goes by. Three years has passed. Of course I have changed a lot. Let me show you my changes. I used to be really short and thin. I used to be shy and quiet. I was always silent in class. Now I have changed a lot. One of my most important changes is that I become more outgoing. What made me change a lot? When I was in Grade Eight, there was an English speech contest in our school. I wanted to take part in it, but I was afraid. Our English teacher, Mr. Wang, encouraged me to take part in it. He guided me a lot, and I practiced a lot.
While we are on the subject of sport the Americans invented a kind of robot for sportsfans. If you were watching your team on TV alone, you could press a button and the robot would do “high fives (击掌)” with you! Fantastic!
I wonder if you have any good ideas for inventions like these.

There are many traditions for this festival. On that day, families get together and climb mountains for luck and in the hope that elderly people will live much longer. They also drink chrysanthemum wine (菊花酒) and wear a plant called zhuyu to celebrate it. Both chrysanthemum and zhuyu are regarded as clean plants that can clean houses and cure (治疗) diseases.
