Easter is a traditional holiday that is celebrated during spring in Western countries like the UK and the US. Easter eggs mean new life. Easter egg hunt is a game during the festival. Decorated eggs or Easter eggs are hidden for children to find.
This Easter, we held an Easter egg hunt. The headmaster told us that 1,000 chocolate eggs were hidden in our school. The class that found the most eggs in one day would win a prize.
Our class really wanted to win. This was easier said than done, but our team leaders, Rose and Charlotte, came up with a plan. We would all arrive at school early. We would search around the school in small groups. Each group looked for the eggs on one floor. We would put all of our eggs into one bag, and Rose would keep it safe until the end of the day. Most importantly, we must not eat the eggs!
When the day finally came, I was the last one to arrive. Everyone had already collected lots of Easter eggs. Some had 20, some had a bit less than 30 and two girls even found 42!I regretted coming late and felt a little sad. If I came earlier, I wouldn't just find a few eggs at lunchtime. However, I tried my best to walk around the school and find the eggs.
The chocolate eggs were a bit hard to find. They were hidden in places like teacher's drawers, stuck behind the whiteboard, inside the display shelf, behind trophies and stuck in a hole or in a doorframe(门框).
By the end of the day, we had 196 Easter eggs! It doesn't matter whether our class wins or not. If everyone works together as a team, then we can do anything!
