The Yellow River Scenic Area lies in the northwest of Zhengzhou. It's about 20 kilometers away from the city proper. And it shows the wonderful scenery in the sightseeing area. There are over 40 scenic spots. It covers an area of more than 20 square kilometers.

The culture of planting chrysanthemums(菊花)in Kaifeng started over 1500 years ago. Now the Chrysanthemum Culture Festival is held every year. It lasts a month, from October to November. Dechen Ngodrup, 36, has successfully climbed to the summit (山顶)of Mount Oomolangma five times. Last year, he took on the role of a leader. On May 4,along with 12 teammates,he reached the summit of the world's highest mountain.
On their way to the summit, the 13-member team set up a meteorological station (气象站) at an altitude of 8,830 meters, the highest of its kind in the world.
