Is It O.K. to Post Pet Videos Online?
There are hundreds of thousands of animal videos on the Internet that are watched by millions of people every day. However, some people think it’s cruel for people to post videos of pets. Students in Rose Garden school have a debate and here are their opinions.
Yes—pets are cute, funny and even beneficial.
Research shows that watching pet videos can reduce stress and make people feel happy, in the ___41___ way as being with an animal. This is really good for people who can’t have their own pet. Some research shows that videos may even encourage people to buy or adopt a pet. Some vets say taking videos of pets behaving naturally or performing simple tricks is probably harmless. Why shouldn’t pet owners ___42___ their animals and have fun making videos with them? ___43___ a pet video gets lots of views, the owner could also earn money, which would be better for both the owner and the pet.
No—pets are not for entertaining people.
Making pets do tricks is unfair because they cannot ___44___ to do so. To make videos attractive, tricks may become more extreme and harmful. Therefore, training may be stressful and a trick might be frightening or ___45___. Sometimes a pet’s funny behavior is just because it feels afraid. ___46___, a cat leaps up (跳起来) when it sees a cucumber because it thinks it is a snake. Posting pet videos for likes is cruel, just like circuses forcing animals to perform.

D. Answer the questions(回答问题)(共6分)
People are afraid of difficulties, but sometimes it’s the difficulties and challenges that make us better people. Cece Bell’s story is a good example. When she was four years old, Cece Bell became deaf and had to wear a hearing aid. As the only deaf student at her school, Bell wished that there was a list of instructions to help people understand and communicate with her better.
When she was older, this inspired Bell to write the graphic (图画的) novel EI Deafo, which is partly based on her life but with talking rabbits instead of humans. In this book, Cece finds that she can use her hearing aid like a superpower and becomes the hero EI Deafb. The book was a huge success and won lots of awards, and now it has been turned into a famous TV series.
In an interview with the newspaper Bell explained why she decided to make all the characters in EI Deafo rabbits, “I wanted to show what it felt like to be the only deaf kid in my elemental school,” She says. “I needed a good visual metaphor (比喻), and rabbits, with their big ears and amazing hearing, were perfect for that. Actually, I felt just like the only rabbit whose big ears didn’t work—I had the ears for show, but little else.” The decision to write it as a graphic novel was also linked to her experience with deafness. “I wanted to use speech balloons, which are used in almost all graphic novels, to show what my character is hearing or speaking in the story.”
“I want to call on more people to care for the deaf children—Although we could hardly hear, we still want to communicate with others.” she says.

Is It O.K. to Post Pet Videos Online?
In an interview with the newspaper, Bell explained why she decided to make all the characters in EI Deafo rabbits, “I wanted to show what it felt like to be the only deaf kid in my elemental school,” She says.
