T: What are they going to do? Ss: They are going to have a picnic. T: What is she going to do? Ss: She’s going to stay in bed. Step 2: Language practice 1. Read through the sentences in the box with the whole class. 2. make sure Ss understand that we use “be going to ” when we talk about intentions, things we want or expect to do, or plans for the future that are definite. Step 3:Grammar: the simple future tense 一. 用法:表达打算, 计划, 有意做某事. 二. 结构: 主语 + be going to +v.原形 三. 表将来时间的单词/短语： this afternoon/evening tonight tomorrow (morning/ afternoon/ evening) the day after tomorrow next Sunday/week/month/year Eg. 肯定句: I am going to visit Australia next week. 否定句：I am not going to visit Australia next week. 一般疑问句：—Are you going to visit Australia next week? —Yes, I am. / No, I'm not. 特殊疑问句：What are you going to do next week? When are you going to visit Australia? Step4:Work in pairs. 1. Tell students to read the list of activities in A1. 2. Say it isn’t now, but next weekend. Elicit a question about Saturday morning.(e.g. What are you going to do on Saturday morning?) Prompt questions from Ss around the room by changing the time(e.g. Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning). 3. Tell students to work in pairs and ask each other about their weekend plans as well as their parents’ and friends’ plans. 4. Elicit answers from the pairs. Step5: Complete the sentences with the correct form of the words and expression from the box in A2. 1. Read through the words and expressions in the box and have students say them after T. 2. Check that they know all the words and expressions, then ask them to complete the sentences individually. 3. Ask Ss to check with their partner. 4. Elicit answers in complete sentences. Step6: Put the words in the correct order to make questions.(A3) 1. Read through the words in each sentence and check that students understand them all. 2. Ask Ss to work individually and put the words in the correct order to make complete sentences. 3. Ask Ss to check with their partner. Remind them to count the words to make sure they haven’t missed any. 4. Elicit complete sentences from the whole class. 5. Ask Ss to look at the questions again and then complete the short answers on P19. 6. Check answers with the whole class. Step7: Around the world. 1. Get Ss to look at the picture and tell T what they can see. 2. Get Ss to read through the short passage. Check they have understood by asking some questions.（e.g. What do young people in the UK like to do on Saturdays? When do they do their homework?） Step8: Talk about your weekend plan. 1. Read through the three sentences in A4 with the class. 2. Put Ss into groups of three to take one role each. 3. Have Ss ask and answer questions about themselves. Tell them to write down their ideas. 4. Elicit the answers by asking Ss to read out their ideas. Step9: Make a group diary for next weekend. 1. Put Ss into groups of 4-6 to ask each other about their weekend plans. 2. Have Ss write down their common plans in the table in A5. Tell them to write notes, not full sentences. 3. Tell Ss to use the notes to write a paragraph about their plans for next week. 4. Elicit the answers in groups. Step10: Summary T:What have you learnt doday?
