四、阅读理解

We often see people waiting in line at supermarkets, theaters and amusement parks.Surprisingly, they even have to wait in line at the summit(山顶) of Qomolangma.
During this year's climbing season, crowds of climbers became stuck(动不了的) in a long line near the summit. The line is above the mountain's highest campsite—about 8,000 meters above sea level.
However, most people can only spend a few minutes at the summit without extra oxygen supplies(氧气补给).Twentyone mountaineers have died in the Himalayan mountains so far this year, according to Gripped, a magazine dedicated to mountain climbing.Eleven of these climbers died on Qomolangma.
This death count marks a fouryear high.Overcrowding, inexperience and poor weather have been the most common causes of death, USA Today reported.
After these tragedies, one question remains: Why do so many people risk their lives to climb the mountain?
The answer differs from climber to climber.Studies suggest that people who take risks tend to consider themselves more differently than people who avoid risky activities. But for adventurers who are drawn to the Himalayas, reaching the summit of Qomolangma is a lifelong dream, according to Discovery News.
“Qomolangma is like a light to bugs that attracts people once they hear about it.It represents the ultimate (极致) for many people,” US mountaineer Alan Arnette said.
Technological developments have also encouraged more people to climb the mountain.People can get hightech safety equipment more easily than before. And with the Internet, climbers know better than ever about how to reach the summit safely, Yahoo Travel noted.

Many people, especially parents with their children, visit zoos for pleasure. It's interesting to see different animals from different parts of the world up close, but visitors should know how to act properly in a zoo.
4.__D__
Animals can be ill after they eat wrong food. Remember that each animal has its own fixed amount of food fed to it by the zookeepers. Do not feed the animals even if the animals seem hungry.
5.__F__
Zoos can be risky if you don't follow the rules. Do not climb over fences(围栏). Don't try to touch animals unless a keeper says it's okay and don't try to take photos of yourself or your children with the animals from anywhere other than behind the fences.
6.__A__
If there are shows you don't want to miss, visit them first. Plan your way around the zoo by using the guidebook so you don't have to rush around and so you don't find yourself heading in the opposite direction as everyone else at a peak time.
7.__E__
Wait your turn. Others will step back when they've seen what they want to. Everyone has paid the same money for tickets so everyone has right to look at everything as long as they like. Don't expect all the people to step back and make room for you, or your children.
8.__C__
They are busy with their work; they are not guides. Information about animals is usually provided beside their fences. Read by yourself. Of course, if the zookeepers are not busy, they usually love to talk about their animals and welcome questions especially from kids.
A.Use a guidebook to plan your way around the zoo.
B.Let the animals stay quiet.
C.Don't ask the zookeepers unnecessary questions.
D.Do not feed animals.
E.Wait your turn to see what's going on!
F.Be careful and follow the rules.
